C333- In Spite of...

The cloud burst dropped non stop as little Ole stood in the same ground. Her mother smiled with a wave and never came back. Ole stood their with the rain. When a woman's figure left a boy. Ole called in to help the boy and she was the one who named him Saga from the egg bracelet in his hand.

Ole then blinked at the reality as she stared at the burnt fountain. Maybe if she get closer or touch the statue she will be sucked in. Ole breathed in, this is crazy but she is curious she stepped within the fountain and briefly tapped the half burnt statue once, twice but nothing happened. She get closer and started hugging it when Nimrod came to call her and said.

"Ole, what are you doing? We will head to the hospital. Have you gone mad?"

Ole blushed in embarrassment as she jump off the statue.

Fur drive the van as the triplets and Ole carried the packs off food and clothes for the kids. Saga stood by the entrance looking haggard. His shirt were ruffly clutched. His jeans were wrinkled as his hair waved like a soap's bubble. Ole stepped out of the car holding two bags of clothes. Thankfully they kept their kid's wear.

Ole saw Litrez coming to welcome them. Ole passed by Saga as she greeted Litrez. Sycamore and Nimrod winked at Saga as Kahieli and Fur shrugged at him indicating that they don't understand either.

Saga helped Fur who left the bags on him. He needs to drive back and get the others. Selah, Ain and Agsus were waiting by the house. Saga carried the bags and followed. Ole smiled and embraced the nanny who was her mother's friend.

"Aunt Mehe, I am glad your safe." Ole whispered on her shoulder. Her pinkish hair got swayed. Her tired baby forest eyes gain it's twinkle.

"Lattice baby, It's been long. You've grown beautifully like your mother. Your ash mauve eyes with tint of blackness really cheered me up." Mehe hummed.

"Don't say that! It's my fault after all, even if you say you won't blame me." Ole pouted.

"So cute~ your not going to introduce me?"

"Yes... yes.." Ole said as she gestured the triplets to introduced themselves.

"Oh, you boys are handsome. Let me see, You said.. Kahieli, Sycamore and Nimrod. You are beautiful guys... Give me a hug.." Mehe beamed.

The three awkwardly welcome her warm gesture. She smiled and pat the triplets to sit by her bed.

"Ole sing us a song... I love your voice, I even run to the storage to save this harp of yours." Mehe demanded.

The kids clapped their hands as she smiled.

"Alright but my talent fee is a little high." Ole teased.

She strummed the string with her finger as she begun to sing.

"I heared the evaporated air turned to rain. My eyes released a sad hymn of regret. I watched your back fade out yet I remained unmoved.

I waited for you to return but it was only a condensed vapor that tapped my streaming lashes. The rain halted yet your smile faded like the resigning sun has shoned but your back never faced me."

Ole ended as she looked up to the clap coming from the entrance it was Cherith and Urchin.

"You did well." Urchin cheered.

"Yep, that was a good note. I felt like your waiting for someone to return." Cherith winked.

"Yeah, I am waiting for you. I want to introduce you to one of your father's friend." Ole sighed.

"Who?" asked Cherith.

"Aunt Mehe that is Nevi's son. Cherith." Ole pointed as Cherith approach and bowed his head.

"Wow, your the exact copy of Nevi but your hair is a bit unnatural but it suits you." Mehe complimented.

"You two felt like my old friends. Let us take a picture of this on your phone." Mehe insisted.

Ole and Cherith took a photo with Mehe.

Ain entered the hospital wing grumpily. His face almost smoked out. Ain tried to breath out before pushing the door out of his face.

He found his gang accommodating the kids.

Selah was feeding the kids with Agsus and Fur. Ole, Urchin and Cherith were feeding the adults as the triplets distributed the clothes.

Ain approached Ole and Saga.

"Will the two of you follow me outside. We need to talk." he instructed.

Ain exhaled and inhaled before roaring at Ole.

"You lacked self control Ole! I heared from Sycamore that the scarlet figure lingered at the orphanage. You have to get back there before it comes after your school! The enemy you encountered Ole is not a joke."

Ole nod her head replied

"I understand but in one condition."

Ain eyed Ole and asked.

"What is it?"

"Let me take Sycamore, Urchin and Cherith. Leave Saga here." Ole voiced out.

Saga was about to protest when Ain held his hand and said.

"State your reason."

"He is a burden. The enemy was not after him. It was after me." Ole professed.

"How sure are you?" Ain asked.

"He said it. The unborn opened the leap." Ole confessed.

"Did Ophir knew this?" Ain raised.

"I told him." Ole nonchalantly replied.

Ole realised when her father explained that Saga did not leap the era but cross it.

"What did he tell you to do? Be honest Ole Lattice Lorelei Glockenspiel!" Ain hissed in all serious tone.

"I should do what I think is right and safe." Ole replied confidently

"Your being spoiled by Ophir!" Ain tiredly said.

"Okay, get back in a complete piece." he added "and informed Cherith, Urchin and Sycamore."

Ain walked back when Saga held back Ole.

"You lied back then? you said that I was the target." Saga inquired.

"Sorry, it was what i thought but after inspection and some brain storming I realised that they were after me." Ole explained.

"You said that I am a burden." Saga said.

"Yes. You are. You will always choose to take the blow in critical situation. Sacrifice is different from risk. So is risk with mercy." Ole advised before walking out.
