Unexpected Turn Of Event.

Jareth was occupied with various tasks after saving scarlet. Whether he was secluded in his study room or dealing with unwanted meetings with ministers, he did his best to fulfill his duties as a ruler. However, despite his reluctance, countless requests and pleas from his subjects forced him to participate in these meetings.

As the Prime Minister kept talking, Jareth couldn't help but yawn. All eyes turned to him, and he covered his mouth, urging the Prime Minister to continue.

"Your Highness, it would be wise for you to name Consort Vera as Empress and conceive an heir with her, as neither of your consorts is yet produced a child," the Prime Minister advised. Of course that was his daughter and he wanted the best for her.

Jareth had grown tired of this same topic being brought up time and time again. He had made it clear that he was not ready to make such a decision and would do so when the time was right.

Sitting upright, he replied, "As I have told you before, I will inform you when the time is right."

"Your Highness, there is no need to delay any longer. Simply choose a date for Consort Vera's coronation," the Prime Minister persisted.

With a serious expression, Jareth stated firmly, "My decision is final."

The ministers and Prime Minister all bowed in unison, pleading, "Please consider our advice, Your Highness."

Jareth was tired of their constant attempts to manipulate him. He had not slept in days, and their provocation only made his blood boil.

In a fit of rage, he drew one of his daggers and hurled it at one of the ministers, killing him instantly. The other ministers trembled in fear, and the guards quickly rushed in to assist the dying man and clean up the blood that stained the floor.

A frightened maid timidly entered the room, shaking as she cleaned up the blood. Everyone in the kingdom knew that their Emperor was a bloodthirsty ruler who had no qualms about taking lives. The rumors of him draining the blood of innocent maidservants only added to his infamous reputation.

"Let this be a warning to anyone who defies my command," Jareth declared before standing and leaving the room, his tense expression slightly relieved.

As he exited the meeting room, his eunuch approached him, informing him about the spar between scarlet and vera and about Raynell losing the fight.

"That is intriguing. And take care of Raynell." He said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he strode away.

Scarlet, adorned in a white gown with a daring slit on both sides, paired with white trousers and a golden belt, stood before them. Her hair, elegantly styled, cascaded down her slim waist, emphasizing her beauty and petite frame.

His brother, the first prince and commander Raynell, had just finished their duel.

"Your highness," they both greeted, the first prince making a smudged face, clearly reluctant to acknowledge his brother. Jareth slightly bow to Ralph.

Jareth noticed Scarlet nervously fidgeting with her fingers, trying to conceal her unease. She couldn't even fight, so why had she agreed to this?

"Who do you think will emerge victor?" The fourth prince, Riley asked, fanning himself as he arrived. Unlike his brothers, he kept his hair short, reaching his back. His handsome features were accentuated by his well-defined face and brown eyes.

"Consort Vera, undoubtedly," the first prince responded promptly. The fourth prince, Riley glanced at his brother, aware of his sly strategy.

But since his first brother had placed his bet on Consort Vera, he decided to go with it latter. "Consort Scarlet," he declared.

"What is his highness doing here?" The second prince, Sirius, bowed with little respect, towering over Jareth with his black eyes and long hair, some falling over his forehead.

Jareth ignored his question and fixed his gaze on the ongoing fight. It was unusual for him to feel a desire for Scarlet to win, and he didn't like the unfamiliar sensation.

He observed her every movement. It was evident that Scarlet struggled to wield the heavy sword in her hands, lacking the skill for combat. He snickered at her attempts.

Consort Vera's smug grin widened as she relentlessly attacked Scarlet, not allowing her a moment to catch her breath.

Scarlet had a challenging time defending herself against Vera's fury. She yearned to emerge victorious and perhaps earn Jareth affections.

All eyes were fixed on Consort Vera as they cheered her on apart from Ilvia who kept chanting her ladies name in a song, but Scarlet, in her attempt to defend herself, tripped and fell.

Vera seized the perfect opportunity to strike, raising her hand to kill her. However, in an unexpected turn of events, she was suddenly thrown off her feet by a forceful pull and landed at the corner of the ring.

Swiftly, he had carried Scarlet and held onto her waist, his daring actions made her heart beat faster. His piercing light blue eyes locked onto hers, but she refused to be hurt again in this world. As quickly as he had appeared, he pulled away from her at the sound of Vera's grunt.

He turned to carry Consort Vera in a bridal style, causing a stir among the onlookers. Scarlet could only hope that she would be able to change his terrible fate.

With the help of Ilvia, Scarlet made her way off the wrestling ring. She noticed three people approaching, and she could tell they were Jareth's brothers, not by blood but in bond.

"My lady, that was a brave thing for you to do. No consort has ever managed to defeat Consort Vera in sparing." The second prince spoke, his tone betraying his allegiance to the first prince.

"He's also a loyal supporter of the third prince," Scarlet thought to herself shifting her gaze to Riley, recalling the death of Jareth and how the fourth prince had gone on various adventures without rest and how much he had cried and wished he was dead.

"Consort Vera is highly skilled in fighting, but isn't it a draw since it ended so quickly without a winner?" The fourth prince interjected, fanning himself with a calm expression.

"Everyone saw that Scarlet had a chance to win, so she is right in claiming the victory," he spoke in support of Scarlet.

She smiled and curtsied before saying, "This consort need rest and wishes to retreat to her chamber."

Her tone held a hint of disrespect, giving the impression that she had no regard for them.

"Shouldn't Consort Scarlet be concerned? She has not yet spent time with His Highness, nor has she borne an heir as the youngest of all." The second prince's words carried a hint of suspicion. "Does this mean she is unattractive to His Highness or is there something else going on?"

Scarlet furrowed her brow, determined to never let him look down on her. She used to hide her feelings, but she was different now.

"His Highness has promised to spend more time with me, so the First Prince need not to worry about our relationship," she stated with a bow, before turning to leave. The First Prince clenched his fists in frustration.

His words bothered her, reminding her of her goal to stop Consort Vera and prevent him from falling for her. After all, Scarlet was his destined mate. At least, she hoped so. She needed to stay positive if she wanted to return to her own world.

She let out a deep sigh, pausing in her walk to turn to Ilvia, who was trailing behind.

"Take me to His Highness's chamber," she instructed.

Communication was crucial if she was going to make him fall for her. She had momentarily forgotten that Jareth was with Consort Vera.

"His Highness does not wish to be disturbed right now," the guard at Jareth's chamber informed her.

"But His Highness sent for me. You can confirm with him when we see him inside, or better yet, ask Ilvia," she lied smoothly. Ilvia silently supported her, and the guards believed her thanks to her serious demeanor.

The guard led her to Jareth's study room. "His Highness will be out shortly," he informed her before leaving.

The study room was spacious, with a square layout and filled with historical books. The smell of books filled her nose, and she relished it. Reading always brought her joy. As she walked around the room, her fingers grazed the shelves.

Suddenly, she heard a moan. Not this... It reminded her of that day - it was as if she had been shattered into a million pieces.

Was she hearing things again? When she thought she was just being over sensitive she continued walking.

She stopped in her track when she heard a groan and a heavy breath. Her eyes widen to see jareth making out with vera that bitch.

She had her legs wrapped around him riding him fast like a beast and their intertwined tongues kissing each other in their embrace.

Jareth's hand crawled under Vera's long gown and she moaned in pleasure as her head arched back giving him every access to kiss her neck to which he did.

Scarlet felt disgusted by the sight of both of them making out.

Fuck! Why on earth had she come here?

I can't believe I wrote this chapter. Too shy.
