Chapter 05 | Moving In

"What type of house are you looking for?" Ryan asked as they walked down the streets of Helion side by side. His arms were interlocked behind his head and peered down at her, she was pretty. 

"I'm not sure, but I saw a house when we were heading to the guild. I wanna check it out." Helena smiled up at him before stopping. "Here. This is the place."

There stood a skinny two storey building with a small balcony overlooking the city. 

"How'd ya find out about this place? Were you researching bout da city before?" Ryan couldn't help but ask. He's lived in the city for so long and even he doesn't remember this building, though he does have a bad memory.

"No, I saw it when you dragged me through the city yesterday." 

"Oh, how ya gonna call the owner." 

They were both standing at the small gate that stopped them from going right up to the door.

"Here." Helena pointed to a number on the mailbox. "We'll have to walk all the way to the guild to borrow the phone." Ryan groaned. 

"No need. I have one."

Ryan and Cere's mouth opened in shock. Magic phones were very expensive as they were new technology. Most people used two way communication crystals where both persons break a crystal in half and communicate through it. The downfall with this though is that you can only communicate with the person that has the other part of the crystal.

"Hello, my name is Helena and I'm calling about the house near town center and the Haven guild. Is it still up for rent?" Helena asked nervously.

"Ah, yes it is. But unfortunately I'm not in town right now. Are you a mage? If you're a mage you can head right in and I'll bring over the official documents tomorrow. If not you'll have to wait until I get back tomorrow." The voice responded

"I'm a mage, so I can just head right in, correct? I'll see you tomorrow." Helena smiled.

"Yes, I'll see you tomorrow dear." 

Helena ended the call and opened the small gate before walking up to the house. "You're breaking in? Didn't think you had it in ya." Ryan teased half joking. 

"No, she said I could enter if I was a mage and she'll be here tomorrow to discuss the details." 

"Why don't ya just spend another night at my place? What if ya set up and get denied tomorrow?" Ryan asked, watching Helena open the door. "And why wasn't the door bolted?" 

"First of all," Helena started glaring at him, "I will get through tomorrow, and I used magic to open the door.", she finished walking in.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it like that." he apologized taking a look around the room. 

"Bit small don't ya think?" he asked, looking around as if he's the one that's going to be staying there. 

"It'll do, besides, what I really wanna see is the view from upstairs." Helena replied, heading up the stairs. 

Upstairs had two rooms, the larger one would be a bedroom and the second one would be an office. The bedroom had a small balcony that overlooked the city and an adjoining bathroom. 

Helena left the bedroom and bumped face first into Ryan's chest. "Sorry I didn't see you there." she apologized, taking a step back. 

"It's fine, is ya nose okay?" he asked concerned, it wouldn't be nice if he broke the new guildmember's nose on his chest. 

"It's fine." Helena giggled, finding the entire situation funny. "Did you by chance see a bathroom downstairs?" she asked, not being too pleased at the idea of all her potential guests coming into her bedroom to use the bathroom.

"Yeah, it was just a toilet and sink though." he replied, yawning.

"Well Cercy what do you think of the place?" Helena asked aloud, Cercy slid from Helena's sleeve causing Ryan to jump.

"Where did that snake come from?!" 

"My clothes. This is Cercy, my pet snake, Cercy, this is Ryan, a member of the Haven guild." she introduced, rubbing Cercy's head. 

"Well hello there little snake." Ryan greeted, bringing his face to Helena's palm and rubbing the head of the snake. "She's cute, you too." he complimented.

"Thanks I found her- what did you say?" Helena squealed, going red. 

"Do you really want me to repeat it?" he smirked, causing Helena to shake her head. 

"Whaddya say we head to guild? We can come back later to have you set up."

Helena thought about it before nodding, she'd rather he be here with her later than to be alone, not that she'll tell him that.

"Let's go."
