Milda retaliated with the sharp stone by slamming it down on the lounging wolf it's head caved in as its back end flew forward. Milda jumped backwards and resumed a defensive position, waiting for the opponents move. Akio wanted to help but Nell was holding to his back and hiding, the two wolves in the forest ran around Milda and started to zone him backwards. With just sticks nearby, he picked one up and shift Nell of of him.
"Just stay behind me and you'll be fine" Nell looked back up at home and nodded slightly.
The first wolf ran in with the second close behind. Akio gritted the large stick and jabbed at the open mouth, the stick went hands deep inside and blood started to poor out as akio let go and kicked the second one away. He grabbed another off the ground, this one not nearly as sturdy as the previous. It had regained its footing and he swung with all his strength at the mutt. Who did not take this lightly, it took it head on but the stick broke. It leapt at Akio and lodged its teeth into his extended arm. He knew he should try and not use the weird spells but was it worth the injury? Was it worth his life? He tried to remember his stay window as opening it would not save time.

He has remembered he had flare the most basic of spells, he channeled his mana into his hand and expelled the flare. It felt like his blood was being circled around the point of flare, his arm felt cold. REAL cold. But it seemed to not affect him, just like a frostbite while on painkillers.
The wolf who was attached to him was an entirely different reaction though. As it didn't know what was happening to it, large flames were spewing at him. The wolf instead of being frozen or being burnt alive it looked like his flesh was falling off, not in a liquid but just dripping off the bones. It was instantly killed. It's grasp disappeared as it slumped. The other wolf was surrounded by a pool of vomit and blood as it died try to gag the lodged stick in its throat.
Milda had finished her fight with the four wolves and was now resting and looking at something not seen to him

Akio was very satisfied with the turnouts of this battle, as leveling up had healed him.
"You okay Akio?"
Milda had sat up from the ground and looked at him and was relieved when he nodded. Milda looked thoughtfully at the fire and looked at akio seemingly conflicted.
"I think we should go back, their could be other survivors. While the guards might come back, that chance is slim. Besides" she kicked a rock out of the fire
"We'll be prepared this time around" she looked at him, seeing a young child felt stupid. But she knew that he was smart.
"No, I don't think that is the best thing too do. I saw almost half the village die, I highly doubt most of them will return." Akio fulffed his tail, squeezing out some of the blood.
Nell was still silently standing where she was last, terrified and shaking silently
'She's just a normal kid, all of this isn't normal and should never happen to a kid' Akio walked over a patted her head, this calmed her down quite a bit.
They resumed walking after a short while of resting and found a small river that sprawled about 400 feet wide and was full of twists and turns. Akio and Milda had used the teeth of the over sized wolves as small tools to carve out trees and used rocks to cut them down for firewood. 3 days have passed and they have walked well over 20 miles by now. Nells feet were starting to swell as her shoes were only some homemade flip flops. They had run into many small groups of boars and other wild animals including foxes and a large troll that took both Milda and Akios full attention.
Akio laid back and opened his menu
'Might as well use these status points ive accumulated.' Over the past day and a half he has leveled up 5 times, but the progress was beginning to slow.

Akio is wondering on how to increase his constitution as it has remained the same. Most of the monster drops have been collected by Milda and is now being slung over her back with a makeshift bag from the wolf fur.
He opened up his inventory and realized something

He had a frozen club available, which is most definitely better than a poking stick. A little frustrated he closed it back up. He looked across the river and spotted a small opening where a path seemed to start, either a deer trail or a human path. He decided to focus on other issues for now.
'How do I upgrade my constitution?' He looked up at the fluttering leaves

Akio nodded but was kind of bewildered, why make it so complicated. But that makes some sense, but it still made him a little confused.
He pulled out his common orb and started to look at it, Milda look over at him
"Would you like me to take that in as well?" She asked, her ears twitched
"Can't you use these for leveling up? Why do you bring them in?"
"Well I've heard that guild use it as a form of proof and pay you for the orbs, they then use it to create dust that can make energy for various facilities. Besides, most people can only take in 10% of the total xp of the orb anyway. Killing the monster grants you around 50% so killing many is just faster"
Akio nodded in response, his system hasn't said anything about how much he gets out of it.

Akio grumbled and but the orb back into his inventory. He looked over at Nell who was now removing her flip flops and dipping her feet in the water wincing at the cold. All of their feet were red and purple from walking for so long.
He stood up and walked into the water, it wasn't too deep only up to his knees. It was a very light current giving a peaceful sensation. After a minute of trudging he hoped not the other side and saw a paved road in the other side of the fence which had carrage marks on the dirt.
He turned and called them over, Milda knew a lot more about geography than he did so maybe she would recognize where the path went.
"It leads too town on the map, but it was too small too have a name. But it could be a lot bigger now."
Milda had a map and opened it too show akio where the were, of the mapped continent the were close to the middle.
They all turned towards the small mapped town and started walking forward
