New Beginning (Part 2)

Kael's eyelid fluttered open, taking in a span of vast land filled with treacherous terrains and dark swirling mist. Kael's brows furrowed as he got off the ground.

"This... This is amazing!" He exclaimed, staring at his hands before touching his face and chest. "I truly got transmigrated to another world!

"My head hurts a bit, though." Rubbing the back of his head, he took a step forward, staring at the vast expanse of darkness. Surprisingly, he could clearly see as if it was daytime.

"I didn't get any memories from the past owner of the body? I thought I would be able to get information about the world from the memories of the past owner. But that doesn't matter anyway, I just have to make do with what I have now."

Taking a step forward, he clenched his fist tightly and let out a mighty yell. This is amazing!! Hahaha. His body was brimming with energy, and he could also feel a faint familiarity with the energy around the area.

Gone are the days when he needed to rely on machines to live or the help of others just to carry out some basic movements or bear the pains that had always ravaged his entire being. This was truly a once in a life time opportunity, he thought.

"Let's not get distracted and attract danger." Closing his eyes, he felt a connection, and instantly, he could sense everything within his surroundings. "This is too good to be true." He stopped in his tracks all of a sudden.

"What if this was just a dream? No, it can't be." He shook his head. "Let's see how things progress. For now, I've got to find out where I am."

Sigh.

He couldn't help but think about his sister, who would probably be broken by his death. "I hope you're able to pull through it." His eyes then lit up, having been transported to another world. He couldn't help but wonder, maybe there was a way to go back.

"You're too weak to worry about those stuff. For now, grow your strength." Heading forward, his light steps were the only sound in the area.

"What kind of place is this?" Moving further, he could make out the skulls and bones littered across the ground. "Are those human or beasts?"

With caution, he continued to head deeper into the swirling darkness.

GROOWL

The sound of a low growl echoed across the area with the steady rumble accompanied by each step the beast took.

"Don't tell me it's what I'm thinking." Without looking back, he dashed towards the opposite direction in flight. "No way am I going to survive a clash with any beast here."

"I don't have a weapon or any basic combat training. I guess fleeing for now is the best."

"Coward! Weakling! You will still end up dead sooner or later." More words whispered into his ears as he headed deeper.

"What's all these?!" Kael couldn't take it anymore. His eyes bloodshot stared around the area, trying to track down the source of the voices.

Let me make this clear! This... this opportunity, I'm not going to waste it! I'm not going to live the same lame life like before. I'm going to make sure I live to the fullest here! Become the strongest and build a safe haven for myself!

"I might be a weakling or a coward, but that's only for the moment!" Continuing in his tracks, it appeared the voices had stopped.

"Let's see what you're gonna do about this…" the same voice with a hint of amusement echoed in his head. His eyes narrowed as he sensed the small movements around him.

"Dammit! I've been surrounded." Clenching his fist tightly, he was just in time to swing his hand forward, clashing with a bony like beast, causing the beast to bounce hard across the ground.

"D-did I just do that? I have such strength all the time?!" There was no time to think about that as the rest of the beasts had attacked him.

The beasts looked like the rats back home, but they were four metres in size and had long dangling claws, which he was pretty sure would be able to cut through the strongest metal in his world. Their bony body was covered in an exoskeleton acting as a form of protection.

"Alright! I can do this!" He exclaimed, slamming his clenched fist into his open palm. The ground cracked as he exploded forward, clashing with two of the rat-like beasts at once. The beasts were blown backwards from the impact badly wounded.

"Arghhh!" He received a cut on his back, causing a rush of pain to flood his head. Twisting his body, he sent out a powerful kick, sending the beast skidding across the ground.

Tsk.

"The beasts are too much," he thought after a few minutes of battling. His body was covered in various claw marks causing stinging pain across his body. Leaping backwards, he evaded a pair of claws that struck the ground and, with a burst of speed, slammed his legs on one's head into the ground.

"That will make it seven now," he thought. Although a bit wary, his eyes couldn't hide the excitement he felt. Although he hadn't learned any combat move, it seemed the previous owner did, and the body seemed to have attuned with it. He was able to precisely strike the beast in places that would cause quite the damage and also evade attacks, which would be fatal to him.

Little bangs echoed around the area for some minutes more before everywhere became quiet.

Huff~ Huff~

Kael struggled in controlling his breath, which came out in rasps. The body of the beasts which he had fought littered the ground, their blood getting sucked into the ground.

"I can't continue this way. I was pretty lucky I ran into weaker beasts. But I've learnt something. This body possess extraordinarily physical prowess. Or is that how all beings in this world are?" He thought.

"It's quite surprising, but you have a lot of potential. I guess I can finally rest in peace. But my quest must live on!"

"Hold on, you are the owner of the body?" Kael asked all of a sudden after hearing the voice in his head.

"Yes. I don't have much time left. For you to fully gain control of my body, you must promise to complete my dying wish."
