Help Needed

My head filled with all of the thoughts of my upcoming future here. Because I have no idea what I should be doing for now. I try to think of something, a faction that I should join up but I can't make up my mind.

I have been sitting here on my bed for a while just because of this. It's tough to decide.

I know that I still have a few more days before I am forced out of this place and rent a real place to stay. But if I delay it, I'm sure that I will run out of time soon.

But from what I learned, there's no need for someone to actually join up a faction. Being a part-time would be okay as well. The only downside to that was the pay would be reduced, meaning I would only get half of the credits.

That should be fine but knowing that things might get dangerous, I would really need the credits to stock up my items. And from what I heard from Erina, paying for a place to stay is really expensive.

So with half of the credits that I would receive if I were a part-time adventurer, I might not survive at all. Meaning that I really need to join a faction.

Being a merchant is totally out of the picture since there's nothing that I could sell. Joining up the administrative faction is never really a faction that I should join, as it's a very strict job with a lot of rules. At least that is what I heard from Erina herself.

Builder faction is also not suited for me as I never learned building skills before… In the end, I know that the only faction that I will be joining would be the Adventurer Faction.

I guess fighting the deletion monsters it is then…

There's no other choice, I will head to the place tomorrow so that I can register. It should be good as when I think about it, there are a lot of benefits in joining the Adventurer Faction.

For now, I think I should rest up as I am pretty tired after what happened today.

Finally, the day has come, I ate my breakfast and headed out to the Adventurer Faction to register.

I still have my doubts but regardless, I think I have made the right choice.

I paid no attention to my surroundings as I was immersed in my own thoughts. I didn't realize that I had bumped into someone.

I realize it when I feel like there's something that I hit… I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and saw who was the person that I bumped into.

To my surprise, it was the man from yesterday. The guy with the dirty blonde hair and the raggedy clothes. The leader of the Builder faction.

"Ah! Sorry for bumping you again, it's already-"

But before I could even finish what I was about to say, he cut me off completely.

"It's you! Eizo right?" He pauses for a bit as he looks at me straight, "Follow me, I need your help for a bit." He said that and started to walk toward the area where the deletion monster appeared yesterday. The development area.

I was a bit confused about what to do as it's really out of nowhere… But I just follow him.

Along the way, I did try to ask what he actually needed from me but he didn't give me any answer as he kept on walking.

After a few minutes of walking, we finally arrived at the development area.

"Um? Is there any reason why I am needed here? Like I would like to know the reason actually." I ask that question to him as I am really curious about what's happening.

He then looks at me, "First of all, I apologize for dragging you here… but I really need the help, I thought that I could do it all on my own. Though it seems like there's too much work to be done and me alone isn't enough."

"Wait a moment! You want me to help you with this?" I said that as I was quite surprised at his request. I am aware that he needed help but I thought it would be something that isn't related to building.

"Yes! Seeking help at the administrative faction or the adventurer faction would take time so-"

I immediately interrupted what he was about to say, "There's no way I could help with building stuff like I literally have no skill for it." I said that as that's what is on my mind right now.

He looked at me for a moment and then said, "You don't have to any building at all."

That's what he said. I didn't understand his words. I just stood there and looked at him with a confused expression on my face.

"It's not like I want you to build, I just would like you to help me clear the debris that was scattered in this place. All the fighting yesterday with the deletion monster really tore the place down." He said that and pointed to the areas around the development area.

It was true that there was some debris scattered all over the place.

"So you only needed my help with clearing up the debris. What about the building part?" I asked him to confirm it.

"Don't worry. I will handle the building part on my own." He replied.

"I see."

"So what do you say? Wanna help?"

I guess it's fine as clearing the debris is something that I can do. I had no problem with helping him out with that.

"Sure, I will help."

"Thanks, I really appreciate it. And don't worry, I will pay you credits for your assistance."

I was a bit shocked at his reply, but I was happy to hear it. I mean I was getting paid for helping him. I would really like to get some money.

"So what should I do first?" I asked him that.

"Just gather the debris and round them up. I'll just handle the rest. Also, it's better if you have a weapon, but you don't need to be that serious about it." He said.

He's right. I mean the deletion monsters did appear here yesterday, so I should be a bit careful since it might reappear.

"Okay then, I'll go do my job then. See you later." I said.

I decided to do the gathering first before doing the actual work.

After a few minutes of collecting the debris, I saw the leader of the Builder Faction walking towards me.

"How is the job going?" He asks me that.

"I just started so I don't have any clear progress yet. I mean I still have a lot of work to do." I pointed out the area, there was still a lot of debris scattered all over the place.

"Just wanna tell you that if you feel tired, feel free to take a rest and if you found some core of the deletion monsters, bring them to me." He said.

"Wait? What do you mean by the core of the deletion monsters?" I was curious about that.

"Deletion monsters have cores in them, it's a rare drop but just know it's something dangerous.

It could spawn a huge number of deletion monsters so do bring it to me. As I would get rid of it." He replies.

That was the first I heard of it, Erina never really told me about this stuff. About the deletion monsters core at all. I doubt that she wanted to hide it from me as I think it's essential knowledge. I guess with all of the stuff that happens, she might have forgotten to mention about that.

"Just one more thing, what does it look like?" I ask him that.

"It's a bit like a gem, red in color and the size of a fist." He replied.

So it's a gem-like thingy.

"So, is that it? If so, I'll just continue my job now." I said to him.

"Sure. But if you find it, make sure to give it to me." He replied.

"Yeah, I will."

"Well then, I'll be on my way too. Just call me if there's anything." With that said, he walks off.

So with that, I return to clearing the debris.

After an hour of work, I was feeling quite tired. I mean, I'm not doing anything special, yet all of the work is making me tired.

I decided to take a short break. I sat down at a nearby bench and took a small break. I didn't sit there for long as I needed to finish it up before the day ended.

After taking a rest, I returned to my task of clearing up the debris.

It was tiring.

I had no idea that gathering and cleaning up the debris would be this hard.

I didn't realize that this place is pretty big and there is a lot of debris scattered around the place. I was lucky enough to have finished one-half of the place.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!

Sorry for the long break! I'm back!
