Freshman Class 7 (F-07)

In Atlas' dream he had seen his family and friends, as well as many innocent people killed by a person in the point of view of the killer. The killer used not mana or qi, but another foreign type of energy. When his dream was about to end, the killer had engaged in combat against Dylan. The fight between the two had caused the destruction of their surroundings. As they neared the end of their deadly fight, both had stabbed each other in the chest with a sword. Then the killer had seen his own replication on Dylan's glasses, and that replication was Atlas' face.

Just thinking of his dream made Atlas feel like throwing up, and his face became quite pale. Everything about the dream felt so real, but he knew in the end that it was just a dream, a nightmare.

Dylan didn't pay any attention to Atlas as the former dragged the latter to their assigned classroom for homeroom. Their families had specially requested of the school to put them in the same homeroom, as their talents, cultivation path, and alignments were quite different from each other.

Dylan would have to attend martial classes and light alignment classes, while Atlas would attend mage, wood alignment, and water alignment classes. This, however, did not stop them from attending the same homeroom class, or any other none combat related classes such as technological engineering, or literature and arts. As such, their parents had requested the school to have them to attend the same homeroom class.

Atlas and Dylan also had a chance to select their own elective classes to further their study. In addition to mandatory classes for mages and martial warriors, their school also presented them the opportunity to learn many other subjects.

Classes such as, History and Social Studies, Elemental Theory, Practical Combat Training, Survival Methods, and Usage of Qi or Mana, were classes every student must take.

Their schedule also provided them with elective classes they could pick from. Every student had to participate in at least 3 elective classes to earn enough credits to pass their year. Anatomy for Races, Weapon Forging, Herb Cultivation, Medicine Making, Martial Arts and techniques, Magic Spells, Robotics Engineering, and etc.

Some of these elective classes were divided in to 4 levels (Intro, Intermediate, Advanced, Semi-Professional), while some were just divided into 2 levels (Intro, Advanced). Each level lasted a year, so if a freshman student picked an elective class which has 4 levels, they could take that same elective class for the entirety of their high school, allowing them to further their study on a focused subject.

Atlas and Dylan had yet to make this choice, as they would only pick an elective class a week after the school had opened. This buffer time gave elective classes to advertise and introduce themselves and their contents to the new students. In fact, the two didn't even know how many electives they could pick from in total.

Soon the two arrived in front of their homeroom, F-07. The door wasn't shut, so Dylan continued right in and sat on a empty seat near the windows and made Atlas sit next to him. The class was structured like lecture classrooms for colleges, and had a capacity of 100 people. They were neither in the front or the back, right around in the middle.

The two were apparently the last bunch to enter class as noone else got in the classroom after them. This made a lot of sense, since the classroom already had at most 70 people in it, which was the average size for homeroom classes. The freshman year had 30 homeroom classes, which totaled up to ~2000 freshman. (Don't question my math, not every class has 70 people, but 'tis ~70 when round up.)

Not long after the two sat down, a tall person of 180cm in a dark blue suit entered the class. The person had long hair, he was also quite handsome, and wore a kind smile on his face. He walked over to the lecturer table, and moved his fingers to use qi to write his name in air.

"Hello, everyone. I am Kai Vermont Aphelion. I am 36 years old this year and am an earth alignment intermediate level Martial Adept. I will be your homeroom teacher for the next four years, and for those interested, I also teach Earth alignment classes for freshman and sophomore students. Very nice to meet you all."

As expected of a famous academy, even the teachers for freshman were at the Adept stage. What stage would the teachers who teach seniors be in? Royals? Kings? One must know that after a person reaches royal level, they would be given a noble title and by the alliance council, and after a person reaches king level, their next nine generations could enjoy noble privileges. In short, even the teacher in front of them perhaps had the potential to achieve a noble title by himself in the future, as he was only 36 years old right now.

Atlas and Dylan's families had also attained the noble status this way. The ancestors of both their families had even broken through into the Emperor Stage, before their potential was completely exhausted. Atlas' ancestor was one minor level ahead of Dylan's, yet the two were old best friends and rivals, and this was the reason between the two families friendship.

"Now, I will start taking the attendance, raise your and say here when I call your name." Mr. Aphelion opened the tablet embed into the lecturer's table and started to call out names.

"Christopher Aaron?"

"Here!"

....

"Dylan Graham?"

"Here!"

...

"Atlas Laural?"

"Here!"

more info dump. trust me. you don't want to see no info dump when stuff is about to happen. Also, don't expect me to address that dream part within the near future. Apologies for not reaching 1k words, but like, this was a good part to end the chapter.
