A little Drink Won't hurt

It seems that time froze when Elaine walked up that stage, in her bright orange gown, her regal looks perfect on her. And she went up to people and greeted them with a smile and a few words of gratitude.

Soon Damon woke up from his reverie and started to approach the unknowing girl. But then he felt a hand grab his arm and pulled him back. It was his mother, she hugged Damon and pulled him towards Elaine.

"I knew you would be able to pass this chance." Alicia smiled gently at her son. This confused Damon, as to what was his mother pointing to.

"Whatever do you mean mother? is there something you would like to tell me?" he asked his mother, with one arched brow.

"I've met her, she is a nice girl, I think you have earned yourself an equal. But please my son, tell her the truth and all will be well take care of" it was the last words his mother said to him before she let go and tapped the girl in front of them.

" Mrs. Tempest, are you enjoying the party? if you need anything I can surely think of something that can satisfy you" Elaine said walking up to Alicia and hugging her.

"No my dearest Everything is perfect, but I did promise you that I will introduce you to my son. And well here he is" Alicia said pointing at her son behind her, to which Damon bow responded with a small nod.

"Good evening Miss Reiner, I believe that introduction is in order. My name is Damon Temptest the Heir of the Tempest Corp. I would say you look ravishing tonight" He said fluidly with no emotion evident in his face, this earned a snort from Elaine and a nervous giggle from his Mother.

"The pleasure is mine, I would say that you look dashing in your suite, but since I prefer you might look better with the winter apparel, I guess I should not say that. Mrs. Tempest, I must be going, I might freeze here if I stay any longer let us converse some other time" Elaine said turning about and snatching a wine from one of the serving waitress.

Alicia chortled and slapped her son at the back, Jack saw this and went to his wife. Jonah in tow, interested in the whereabouts of the Ice King.

"Wife, why do you laugh? Ah, my son so glad you could come." jack said

"Your son that is, he complimented Elaine with a straight face, could you imagine that, and on top of that she just outright insulted him in the face, this is hilarious my love you should bring me more often this kind of events," Alicia said walking off

on the other hand, Elaine stood and drank her wine from earlier and continued to greet people, but soon she felt light-headed and so she went back to the hotel rooms to rest.

But before she could reach her room she fell on her knees and grabbed her stomach, pain eliciting from it. she bit back a cry and leaned on the wall for support. Her vision soon sported a patch of black in the corner.

Before she fell unconscious, she saw Damon and his family alongside her brother.

"Surely a little drink won't hurt..."
