"Not bad." Seeing Yuzixuan's quick reflexes, Huo Muchen withdrew his hand with satisfaction.
Yuzixuan: "..."
What did that even mean? She remained in her defensive posture, body stiff from tension.
"You've got decent instincts. After what you've done, your organization won't take you back. I could offer you refuge, on one condition—become her bodyguard." Huo Muchen gestured towards Bai Nuanxi.
Bai Nuanxi, in the middle of enjoying some fruit, noticed the gesture and wandered over. "What are you two talking about?"
Huo Muchen gently patted her head, "I found you a bodyguard."
Bai Nuanxi immediately shook her head. "I don't need a bodyguard. I can take care of myself. Having one is just a nuisance." She didn't want someone following her everywhere—like a shadow. It would be far too annoying. She could handle things perfectly fine on her own.
"What if it's her?" Huo Muchen nodded toward Yuzixuan, who was standing rigidly in place.
