Survival Evolved: Incarnation

*ALL CHAPTERS ARE FREE* With little to no explanation for their wiped memory, several survivors, referred to as Arkians, wake up on a beach on what seems to be Earth. These survivors have many differences, but the most defining one is Sky; The one with a White Stone on the back of his left hand. What kind of journey will Sky undergo because of this White Stone? My Cover Artist's Twitter is @Bombyixmori, follow if you like their work! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Warnings: 1. Survival Evolved is meant to take place through the eyes of a teenage boy (mainly), meaning that some things he doesn't pick up on or connect in his mind are done ON PURPOSE. 2. Survival Evolved often describes gore/wounds in a gruesome way. There are many scenes in which slavery, human trafficking, or torture are talked about, so read with caution!

Voodoo Tracker

"Huh? Not with that doll, no way," The stand owner said to Faith. She remained confused, looking at the older woman and man she stood in between. They slowly backed away from Faith, and she took another look at the doll.

"I'm not understanding. What's with this doll? Should I get rid of it? It was a gift," Faith said. She pointed to where the stand owner previously was, but as soon as she turned around, the space was completely empty, with no shred of evidence that the man was ever there.

"Yes! Oh, that doll is so dangerous. It's a Voodoo Tracker that makes you a target for the Voodoo. If I were you, I would burn it," The stand owner said. He pushed Faith aside to help his other customers, and she sat with the doll in her hand, looking at its properties.

The doll had blonde hair and was made of a brown-stitched material with holes throughout it in intricate places. Right above the left elbow, right under the right knee, and right in the middle of the doll's head. Faith was concerned with the way it looked, flipping it all over to see the backside.

"If you're reading this, it's too late"

Faith furrowed her eyebrows at the sight of the doll, holding it up to the sun.

Then, she heard a loud crashing noise from behind her.

Blood shot out across the market like a popped balloon, causing her to fear for her life. She covered her neck and enhanced her body with golden strands, looking ahead to see an almost fully nude woman generating clothing on her body with Strands.

"The First Trial has opened up. It looks like Genesis was right about what would occur in the future," The woman said. Faith materialized a Golden Saber in her hands and held it widely, waiting to see who her attacker would be.

With blonde hair, black wings, and a black halo floating around her head, Providence regenerated her full outfit and stood around thirty feet away from Faith with a grin.

"You have the same look as that bastard... who are you? What year is it?" Providence asked Faith.

She was struck with fear. Faith should've been able to beat Providence, but her actual appearance stood as a testament to Faith's skill. As the citizens ran around her and cowered behind their stands, Faith realized how dangerous the situation was.

"Shinigami Asterio," Faith claimed, keeping silent about the year.

"Shinigami? I've never heard of one with that name. No matter, you are still an Asterio," Providence said. Strands accumulated around her stance and the world around her became dark, succumbing the people around her to a type of blindness that only didn't affect Faith.

She had several decisions to make as fast as possible but started with the most glaring one staring right at her.

Faith broke the speed of light with her speed and tackled Providence to the ground, launching both of them up in the air and coursing through powerlines and laundry lines on them until they met once more about a hundred feet above the tallest building in the city.

Faith kicked back with Strands once more, shooting both herself and Providence into the ocean's flowing waters. Upon impact, waves shot out in the opposite direction of the city further into the ocean, leaving both Providence and Faith soaking wet from the impact.

"Afraid of casualties? You must be a new fighter. Casualties are inevitable, always," Providence stated to Faith. Faith began to pant heavily, noticing that Providence's presence was starting to drain her energy.

She was confused as to why this was happening until a burst of knowledge flowed into her mind like a steady river. Faith through the Voodoo Doll up in the air and slashed it in half with her golden saber, summoning another one in her off-hand, and charging directly at Providence.

The hood on Faith's shoulders sank down to her back and Providence was able to see who it truly was.

"Faith Asterio..." She muttered.

Faith swung downward with both Sabers, slicing straight through Providence's right arm. Providence had almost dodged the strike and after repositioning herself, had the opportunity to land a clean attack on Faith.

Faith pulled her eye patch off to reveal her flickering golden eye that acted as 10% of what the Gaze of Wrath was capable of. A mere moment was all Providence hesitated for, but Faith was able to successfully block her next attack. Unfortunately, since Providence had untamable strength, Faith was sent bouncing off of the waves while bleeding internally.

"What would you even call her... your grandmother? Ali Asterio and Lucas Asterio needed a lot to take me down, I don't suspect that you're able to do it on your own," Providence teased Faith before vanishing into smoke.

Providence was capable of moving at impossible speeds, as she proved in her fight with Ali Asterio. Faith closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, and feeling around her body with the Leyndell Aura.

When she spotted Providence's presence, on the cusp of the Leyndell Aura, Faith opened her eyes, placed all of her strength into one saber, and swung downward toward her trajectory.

Providence was cut in half from her shoulder down to her hip and was stunned while sinking to the ground after losing her leg.

Blood spurted everywhere and the golden flickering of Faith's eye shut off permanently. She looked back to Providence, panting even more than before.

"Oh? You don't have the Eye of Providence, yet you were able to read my position? How did you do that, Asterio?" Providence asked Faith. The two were locked in psychological warfare, panting while the other stood a good distance away from the other.

"Let's see you stop this one," Providence teased Faith, holding her hand up. White and black strands coursed through the air, seeping into the clouds from above, and Faith felt chills crawl up her back.

[PREDICTION: SUMMONING RUBEKI]

Faith threw her golden saber, expanding its size, and severed Providence's arm before she was able to fill the cloud completely. Faith's actions rendered Providence's attempt to summon the Rubeki worthless.
