"Ali honey, maybe don't use your full strength on him," Lucas told me.
"Please! I'm sorry, I had to do it! The parents of MTG would've kicked me out two years ago and I had no other choice! Ali, you have to believe me! If you don't trust me now, then how about from before? When I saved Lucas and you from the Rubeki?!" Zach yelled out to me. So, he wasn't sentient either.
I looked at him blankly before slashing down at him. He blocked the saber with his own and to my surprise, got out of his chair ready for battle.
"Come on, you really thought you could kill me in one swing?" Zach said with a wicked smile.
Lucas jumped out of the way as every object in the room was starting to be thrown everywhere. That's right... that's Zach's ability.
Various objects were thrown over to me, but I was able to quickly cut them down with no effort at all. Zach charged in with an overhead swing, so I defused the attack completely and planted my foot into his chest with such an intense speed that he was thrown out of another window in another room.
All students left in the courtyard beneath his overhanging office had run, but some stopped running after a while to watch the fight ensue. I didn't blame them.
"Ali! This is an offense against the people of HTG and MTG! If you stop, you will be forgiven, but I will have to stop you with force if you come at me again!" Zach yelled out. The students around us were confused, but they had every right to be.
"Ready to ruin our name, even more, Lucas?" I asked him. Lucas nodded and summoned a saber in his hands as well.
"Sorry pal, my wife is scarier than you, so my side is obvious," Lucas said with a smirk. We both nodded at the same time and Lucas ran at Zach with plain speed.
Using my ability, I launched off of the air behind me and put all of my strength into a slash directed at Zach's back. Just like all advanced saber users, he summoned a second one and blocked my attack from behind... or so he thought.
There was nothing special about Lucas in a superhuman way, he just had unbelievable courage that almost made him ignorant, and a dream. Lucas ran at Zach, with his lack of powers, and engaged, causing Zach to trade off his strength to block Lucas's attack instead of putting everything into blocking mine.
My attack had so much strength behind it that it cracked the floor underneath him and snapped his saber in two before planting a slash wound so deep into his body that it broke his bones.
He was viciously thrown against the floor in splatters of blood before coming to a stop nearby students who decided to fully run away.
I would be ignorant to assume he died just as simple as that.
"Wow... you hurt! Fine, I guess I'll have to show the students of MTG what you're really messing with!" Zach said. He regenerated his body and my Eye of Providence reactivated. I see... he was using the Seven Abilities.
Shooting out of the ground underneath me, small spikes of ice followed my path as I ran away. Lucas decided to fully retreat as I took on the Seven Abilities coming from Zach. The spikes of ice that followed my path eventually stopped, but I knew another ability was coming. He was activating it... was it Kineticism?
I dodged backward using my ability to find around a hundred feet of ground dug up in front of me in retaliation for my attack. He was being stupid though, with my Eye of Providence, I could see this was very obviously an Illusion.
I burst through the ground with my speed again and kicked him in the face, splitting his skull down by his jaw and knocking out almost all of his teeth. Zach bounced off of the ground again and used another ability to shoot electricity at me.
My saber was conductive material, so it absorbed most of his attack. There was only one attack I had to watch out for... and it was the one he was charging up to use right now.
I turned my back preemptively and swung in an attempt to stop the burst of speed from killing me. However, on his way to my back, an enlarged saber shot from the ground and pierced my shoulder. I didn't flinch at all and caught Zach by his throat, threw him up in the air, and planted my heel into his chest, which shot him into the A-Ranking building and then completely through it to hit the dome around MTG and crack it.
Coming back with the burst of speed I feared, Zach's boot was inches away from my head. I ducked under at a ninety-degree angle as the wind rushed all around me. Damn that ability!
We both repositioned and clashed our sabers together, causing the ground us to violently shake. The students that hadn't left our battlefield were shaken with fear as two Deities clashed together.
"Run for your lives! Zach and Miss Asterio are fighting!" I heard from the students.
"You hear that? One of us goes by our first names, and the other goes by the emotion that limits us. Isn't that something?" Zach said to me. I ignored him and turned the battle around, grabbing the base of his neck and throwing him into the fountain in the middle of the courtyard.
Zach used the water behind him to shoot spears of ice in my direction. I absorbed every single one into my left hand and used the energy converted into a swing of my saber, piled on with my ability, and cracked his saber down the middle, along with splitting his body in half.
I held my left hand out to stop him completely, but before I could start speaking, he vanished in a puff of smoke using that damn speed ability.
I couldn't react in time and I received an almost fatal blow to the back of my head that dazed me for around ten seconds. Zach was naive enough to let me recover... he'll regret that...
Using my Eye of Providence, I analyzed every single strand connection on the battlefield. Almost instantly, I used the Eye itself to turn off all strands in a radius around me. Zach fell to the ground behind me and dodged a strike from my fist that would've turned him into a paste.
It ensued into a fist fight that he wouldn't win. My strikes were packed with power and not even Providence could deal with them.
I threw a punch from my right side and hit him near his ribcage. The impact alone caused the wind to rush everywhere and the blood spurting from his side from his ribs piercing his internal organs gave it the perfect cherry on top.
Zach was instantly thrown back into his office and stood behind his window, watching me while healing his side. So, my ability turned off and he was able to use strands once again. No matter, he doesn't seem to know that I wasn't kidding when I said he wouldn't win against my fists.
Zach jumped down with his ability and shook the ground with his impact, then proceeded to throw up blood. He looked at me confused like I was supposed to be the source, but that wasn't quite it.
The Eye of Providence can visualize and manipulate all strands in a field around the user. That being said, I manipulated the strands in his body depending on where my fist landed. He would forever have that injury and spit up blood for the rest of his life... around thirty minutes left of it.
The body and the strands are connected, and when one fails, the other fails as well. However, they can repair each other. When they're damaged at the same time, the user is permanently incapacitated. No matter, he should've been stronger.
Zach spat up blood as he tried to use that damn speed ability and slid on the ground violently as it failed. He retaliated by throwing spears of ice-coated in his blood at me. They diffused before they could even touch me and barely decorated my face in light droplets of water.
I couldn't help but smile at how pathetic he looked right now.
How cute.
"You're really hellbent on killing me, aren't you? Look, Ali, I'm sorry, but killing me won't bring your son back, he's probably long dead in Rubeki territory!" Zach shouted out to me. He seemed to have the right idea about why I was here, but I wouldn't let him have the satisfaction of being correct.
"You think this is about my son?" I looked to Zach, planning to lie in order to save Sky's reputation from these other students.
"My son isn't controlling me... no, I think MTG has bad leadership, and I'm here to fix it... I will become the headmaster of all facilities you own, and I knew you'd try and kill me for asking, so I thought I'd beat you to the punch." I told Zach.
It didn't really matter what I told him, considering he would always relate this back to the fact that he's trying to tarnish the Asterio name. That was fine, it was in his head to only make that goal. I'll make it easier for him.
The ground around me started to shift and revolve around me. All clumps of dirt and rock separated themselves from the dirt chunks in the ground and revolved around me. Just as they started to speed up, Zach shot more spikes of ice toward my face.
I blocked every single one and started to launch the projectiles I made over at Zach.
Cracking and bursting against his sabers, the dust from the dirt in each projectile made a smoke screen for me to sneak around in. I had the Eye of Providence, Zach didn't.
I walked around at my own pace as he wildly slashed around to get rid of the smoke. I threw my saber to bait him into attacking my old position so I could subdue him.
"Got ya!" He declared, swinging at my saber that fell to the ground. He seemed shocked as I cut off his arms.
"[System Strand Lock]"
The words shot out of my mouth and Zach sat with his arms pouring out blood around him. He started to freak out but lessened up on it as I healed him and turned toward the students.
