The hit connected with Obsidia's jaw, and even with all the power exerted, she simply fell to her back in her original form. She had no opportunity to attack.
She covered her eyes while smiling, staring at the sky from the crater Sky created.
"Damn...you got powerful really quickly...I wasn't ready for that...I guess as the one who defeated me, you can now give me an order. No matter what it shall be, I shall follow it until I die." Obsidia announced to both of us. I stared at her, then looked up at Dad as he fell out of the mode with the three sisters.
She was latent, not showing any signs of attacking. I took her for a senselessly brutal person, but it seemed that order was what gave her chaos.
Sky crouched down beside her and offered his hand to Obsidia.
"You will follow any order I give you."
"It can't be that loose, that's not any fair."
"You will help me in my fight against Eirikr and Cynthia. You will not turn on anybody I consider to be my ally, and will only directly fight these two people unless told otherwise." Sky told her.
"That's more like it...typical Asterio, using me to fulfill your own goals." Obsidia scoffed with a bigger smile, uncovering her now-blue eyes while looking at me next.
I wasn't sure how to feel about her, but something told me that I was feeling the same thing Dad was toward Lia.
"Instead of scolding us, perhaps you should think about why we ascended to the top. We're powerful people, all of us," Sky said, looking at me. "Asterios are at the top of the food chain because we're not afraid to use our power, and you should be happy that we're so high up on that food chain that we let the underlings live." He said. I smiled at his cocky response, and he helped Obsidia up to her feet.
[PREDICTION: BETRAYAL]
I hid my eyes from Obsidia's view, to ensure my secrecy, and primed my hand to clutch a saber as fast as possible. It was a fraction of a second that passed when I saw the glint in her eyes. I know that look...she was going to kill him.
Forcing Iridescent Strands around my body and pushing my muscles forward as fast as the impulses of my brain allowed, it intersected with Obsidia's skull, scattering her brain and imploding what was left over.
She instantly collapsed to her knees and fell over as her life became forfeit. My skin was smoking from the speed at which I moved, and I panted heavily from the speed at which I had to move to save Dad's life.
Once Dad caught onto what was going on, he jumped back around three feet. However, with his speed at his weakened body, he would've been killed if I didn't stop Obsidia.
"Woah...you saved my life..." He muttered.
"Don't be ridiculous, if you needed to, you would've dodged her," I told Dad. I watched him as he lightly smiled, sighing, and walking over to me. He rubbed his hand through my hair and chuckled.
"It's okay to be stronger than me, Faithy. I'm glad to see you're alright," Dad told me. He waited for a response with his hand resting on my head.
"I'm sorry...that I vanished for nine months. That was a long time...and selfish of me. Not only vanishing, but yelling at you, for doing what you thought was your job..." I told him. I hesitated, afraid of what to say next.
"You changed me, Faithy. I needed to hear that. And, you don't have to apologize. Sometimes, we all have things that we need to do. Although, I'm curious about what kind of power you have now. You were doing a lot there, and I'm wondering...how? What was your secret? You could even tell that Obsidia was about to kill me, with no training or practice at all." Dad said. I knew what I was able to do, so I nodded and shrugged.
"When I made it so Cole could be damaged, so long as I sustained the same damage, you hit me and it opened an entire directory of abilities that never really belonged to me. I wasn't entirely sure if I'm going to be honest with you...but, I have the abilities of all bloodlines within me. I guess, that's probably what makes me strong, isn't it?" I said.
I couldn't help but frown as I stared down at my clasped hands. Yet, even in all of my uncertainty, Dad shook his head.
"Obsidia was strong. Although, her morals are scattered, and she betrays her comrades, which might even be worse. You, Faithy, are stronger than me because you're a girl who sticks to her ideals. You should know, that not once in these nine months did I hate you at all. Not even with all of the Wrath in my bones, I always respected and appreciated you for sticking up for yourself. Strength doesn't come from our abilities, but it does come from our morals," He told me.
I was astonished by how good he got at consoling people and looked down at the floor with a dumbfounded smile.
"Yeah...you've grown, Dad," I told him with a smile.
After we made up and greeted each other, Dad and I began to walk for a little bit through the destroyed city, and he talked to me about each of his hits and what happened. He clarified that Hikari had a large influence on how he dodged, Umbra had a large influence on his strength, and Avie had a large influence on his speed. However, when he stopped by my strike that spanned for longer than my eye could see, he looked at me with impressed eyes.
"You know, what is impressive is that you had none of the A.I. sisters, yet you still did that much damage...isn't that enough reason to be proud of yourself?" He asked.
