"You guys are at least making this fun! That's two of you know who will die out. I want to focus on the Mace and Kama guys. If you'll excuse me and move." I told him. The bowman stood in my path and War swung his sword widely around his friend.
The bowman dodged just as War's sword came down, but they still weren't anywhere near as fast as they should've been.
I kicked War's wrist and he dropped the sword after I pierced a pressure point. I used my legs to wrap myself around his head, then proceeded to flip around his neck while touching the ground with my palms. Afterward, I used the force of my legs to slam him to the ground. While War was hitting the ground, I used the saber's handle to hit the bowman in the back of his knee, and he fell to the ground as well.
I smashed his kneecaps with my left palm and flipped his body as well, severing his right leg and kicking him in the face. Both 'War' and the bowman were out of commission as they began to bleed from their newfound wounds. The Mace and Kama wielders nervously shivered as I walked closer to them.
"You can't be serious, what kind of teammates are you?" I slammed my heel into the bowman's exposed ribcage, as that had been his revealed part of his skeleton, and cracked a few of his ribs.
The Kama user ran in and extended the handles to his Kamas to try and throw me off.
I slid my saber through the wood and to my surprise, right after it passed through, the wood reconnected and the Kama just barely scathed my shirt.
I knew for a fact the Mace user was right behind me, so I dropped my body to the ground and tripped him while extending my leg and holding myself up with the palm of my hands again. The Mace user lost his footing so bad he was parallel with the ground, and I slammed my fist into his stomach, planting another cluster of Golden Strands into his body. He soon threw up blood just as War and the Bowman did. All that was left was the Kama user.
He was fast and had better control than the rest. He tried to hit me as hard as he could, but he wasn't as experienced as me. I countered all of his advances and directed his body around exactly how I wanted to. He was an all-in fighter, and that would be his downfall.
I let him swing wildly and flipped my body around. He missed his strike and the heel of my boot hit him straight in his ribcage again. He coughed up blood, unrelated to my Golden Strands, and was sent to the ground.
"What the... hey! Where is Providence at?! Is she late?!" The Kama user yelled out.
"Death! Chill out! Just collect your thoughts! She'll be here!" War yelled out to the Kama user, now known as 'Death'.
Hold on a minute... War? Death? These were the Four Horsemen, weren't they? I've heard legends about them... they're awfully lackluster for calamities they were said to be.
Their skill isn't important, Providence was going to be here... I would definitely lose. I need to cut my losses here and leave.
I activated my Eye of Providence once more and ran to Death, using my ability to trap his body to the ground and slamming my fist into his chest with even more Golden Strands than before. He was the problem, and I wouldn't let him escape.
I exerted far too much and blood started to drip out of my mouth, so after I hit him and cracked the ground underneath him, I turned around and ran as fast as possible back toward MTG.
"Where are you going?! Afraid you'll lose?!" War tried to tease me, but he was exactly right. I was afraid to lose. My family is a lot more important than my ego.
As I ran in the opposite direction, I came to the realization that even when I was holding back the Four Horsemen, HTG was still on its last leg. The few students left behind were ruthlessly killed by the endless onslaught of the Rubeki, and I couldn't do anything about it. I held the Rubeki back long enough for MTG to gather their strength and fight back against it.
After all, HTG was never a part of Illya's equation in taking Sky to the level of a Deity. MTG wouldn't and couldn't fall, not as long as her plan is to force Sky to ascend. Something will happen... and I fear that I'm that something.
Sure, I would save Sky any day in a heartbeat, but that might be a necessity. Sky might need to be saved... and that would require the ultimate sacrifice...
I slammed my saber through a group of twenty Rubeki and gathered up with all remaining survivors left in MTG. I fought with a group of kids in taking out Rubeki which blocked them from all gathering together.
"There she is! Miss Asterio is back!" I heard the students yell out to each other.
I couldn't exert myself too much or else it would be fatal!
I killed the Rubeki with ease and continued to do so, slicing through them with ease and continuing no matter what kind of fatigue I felt in my bones. I knew Lucas was doing the same, and I knew Sky and his friends followed right behind him. I had faith in all of them to continue their defense, and now that I'm here, it's going to be close...
It's either The Rubeki, or it's us. And us losing isn't a part of Illya's plan.
Our victory is sealed in stone and has been since I gained sentience here.
