Cynthia, standing on the mountain in the distance that could safely observe Alicas without any detection of interference, met up with Ultima and Netsu, two people of their own free will, attempting to take out Sky in their own way.
Finny had been mobilized earlier in the year, leaving Netsu and Ultima to plot politically against Sky, rather than physically.
"Glad you guys could make it," Cynthia said to Ultima and Netsu. Her sparkling blue eyes, veiling the Dimensional Perceiving Eye from the two influential world leaders, were creating a shine that drew them in. Cynthia had been experiencing a set of emotions unfamiliar to herself as she held up her left arm, wielding the three other White Stones that Sky wished to find and apply to himself.
"The Imperfect, The Giver, and The Purified. Wow, so you do possess all three now?" Ultima asked Cynthia. She nodded, turning her head back toward Alicas.
"It's what has to happen. The future has already been planned out. Finny has been doing good work, right? Expanding his reach to all societies?" Cynthia asked Netsu specifically. After three months, Netsu had agreed to help Ultima, preemptively revoking his status as a World Leader.
"That's right... except for this one. The Thieves Syndicate here had been shut down by Sky. Sky figured out that Finny created puppets to poison the city, and has been looking for more action since he figured it out," Netsu explained to Cynthia. The two began to look at the city now, watching people dance around and celebrate the coming of the New Year.
"Do we need to cause a scene? Because I can make that happen," Ultima said. She punched her fists together playfully but stopped at Cynthia's calling.
"You will make the future unpredictable. It's foolish to assume that Sky wouldn't wipe us out if he caught us," Cynthia said with a monotone expression. Both Ultima and Netsu were surprised to hear that Sky was that powerful, even after having the A.I. extracted from him and a break from action for almost a year now.
"You said that we would be able to take him after a while. What are you waiting for?" Ultima asked. She was starting to get irritated, itching to take out Sky to enact revenge for her sister. Netsu stood silent, sitting on the rock with his head in his hands, thinking about the outcomes of the future.
"I'm waiting for Finlis Vega to take out Faith Asterio. We can't rush this, the future will change," Cynthia repeated. It was absolutely necessary that Cynthia could not only predict the future but fulfill all events to ensure they happened.
The Dimensional Perceiving Eye was only ever activated when an event necessary to a future event Cynthia desired was in danger of corrupting. She wasn't sure of the exact science behind it, even now, but knew that the chances of event corruption were high, especially for Asterios.
"If I walked in there right now and started a fight, you're telling me I'd lose? The kid is probably even more scrawny than he was before," Ultima clicked her tongue in fierce irritation as Netsu finally stood back up.
"Let's just listen to Cynthia and not cause problems. Genesis is dead, so we listen to her now. Unless you have a qualm with that?" Netsu asked Ultima. The two engaged in light bickering, moving back and forth to bring up odd points from their personal lives.
Cynthia continued to watch Alicas in the background. The people were unbothered by disaster after rebuilding so well. She wasn't sure what made them feel secure until she thought about her brother's power.
Such an expanded power that continued to grow would be her worst nightmare, and she realized that Sky was probably even stronger than he was before. He had grown, both mentally and physically, and yet, remained on the defensive.
"In this plane of existence, there are seven perceivable futures. All seven futures were created the exact second Eirikr struck Sky with Dimension Puncture, which really, really fucked things up for me. I've been stuck living in all seven at once. If one corrupts, the train will follow and we will be left in a wasteland. I live in the same timeline where Sky didn't stop fighting your soldiers, and he wiped out the world again. His second act of Genocide to those who didn't submit. That includes us, all of us. Even Eirikr," Cynthia explained. The statement shook Ultima enough for her to stay quiet from that point forward, but Cynthia wasn't done venting her insecurities.
"You have no idea... no idea how much I see. The Dimensional Perceiving Eyes even have a future in which Faith Asterio kills Finlis Vega, which would ruin our entire plan. We need to meet with him and consult, to see where his power is at," Cynthia said. She turned from Alicas, sliding down the length of the mountain seamlessly while Ultima and Netsu followed closely behind.
"We're the resistance this time around, aren't we? The ones wreaking havoc, instead of having it done to them," Netsu asked Cynthia, but she shook her head.
"We were never victims, don't be ridiculous. Having conscious thought over our sins is a lot better than ignoring them. We are the oppressors, but sometimes, oppressors are necessary," Cynthia vaguely explained. Ultima and Netsu were selfish people, thinking they were going to kill Sky Asterio with persistence and dedication, but they couldn't see what Cynthia did.
At the current point, Cynthia was at, she wasn't even sure if killing Sky Asterio would be the best course of action, even if her vision called for it. Sky was capable of defeating anybody at this point, and there was nobody who could really test his strength
At the thought appearing in her eye, it vanished almost instantaneously as a vision of ten mysterious people filled her vision. Cynthia came to a stop halfway down the mountain to observe the looks of all of the ten people, then turned her head in the Northern direction.
"Fico has just done something," Cynthia said, successfully tracing back the cause of the change.
