-2 Years Later-
--Orion's Perspective--
I woke up to Nathan bouncing up and down on my chest and Moonlight smiling off to the side. I smiled, rolling out of bed and looking out of our window while stretching.
Nathan, my son with Moonlight, was born about nine months after the White Stone meeting and luckily enough, we've been able to keep Mizu in our hands and raise her as our daughter as well. Moonlight went off to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everybody. I quickly joined to help her as well.
"Well! What are we making today?" I asked her. She explained the dish and we both worked our hardest to feed Mizu and Nathan.
Life had been going steadily, nothing has been happening, and now that we've established this base where nobody can harm us, our population is slowly going up. Our population is booming now, everything is finally going well again.
Zeal hasn't returned since the meeting that took place two years ago, so I've also had that to my advantage. Another White Stone should be close to spawning in, as Zeal clarified in the meeting that they come in intervals of 3-5 years, it depends on the Stone.
The day went on as they normally would, but this time out of the transporter, I could see Genesis once more. He didn't seem to have aged a single day. Moonlight, Mizu, and Nathan were all out of reach, so I wasn't worried about them either.
"Orion! It's so good to see you again, hey, look." I heard again. Genesis pulled handcuffs out of his back pocket and shook them in front of his face, walking closer and closer to me.
"I think you should wear these right now." With a smile, Genesis shoved the cuffs in my face once more.
"What do you want?" I responded, but Genesis slowly went behind me. I turned my body to face forward toward him. He quickly stopped and smiled again putting the cuffs down by his side.
"Put your hands behind your back before I take them from you," Genesis said. He pulled out a knife from his pocket and I listened quickly. The cuffs wrapped around my wrists and he backed up soon after throwing the key far out.
Genesis picked up a radio from his hip and rose it to his mouth. Thanks to the key being thrown off the glacier, the atmosphere seemed darker now. I signaled Tavian to gather soldiers as he slowly approached the courtyard with a weapon in his hand.
"Zeal. It's safe to come through now." Zeal and several other people quickly came from the transporter and surrounded me where I stood.
I couldn't help but get nervous. I looked around, at everybody. I could probably count fifty or so people, but they kept coming out of the transporter! I would've destroyed that thing had I been able to...
"So nice to see you again Orion. I heard from Genesis that you might have a lead on Nova's missing kid... Mizu," Zeal said. My heart dropped out of my chest and I couldn't help but freeze up in front of him. I struggled in the cuffs, trying to break out, but Zeal kicked me down and set his foot against my neck.
"You seem pretty guilty. Genesis, gather everybody who lives here and get them in this circle. Anybody who refuses, you kill." Zeal said.
I struggled even harder than before. I'll be damned if I let him ruin our lives. The more I struggled, the harder he pushed against my neck. It got to the point where I couldn't breathe anymore unless he released some of the force. He seemed to know exactly when I had trouble breathing and would release his foot accordingly.
The first group of people showed up. Some of the original people were named Lucy and Donny. They filled me in about the base and other friends within Zeal's group. People I spent seven years getting close to, were put to their knees and Genesis rose a katana blade to each of their necks.
"I'll tell you! Please! Don't kill anybody! I've been taking care of her, she's fine!" I yelled out from under Zeal. He didn't look at me at all, only turning to Nova.
"I didn't hear him speak. Go ahead, kill them." Genesis cut straight through Lucy and Donny's necks and blood seeped out in viscous chunks and one large puddle. Both of the people I knew for seven years had been killed so fast, after telling Zeal I knew where Mizu was.
"YOU BASTARD! I TOLD YOU I KNEW WHERE SHE WAS! LISTEN TO ME!" I yelled to Zeal. More people were set down in front of me. This time, Shane and Dustin.
"LISTEN TO ME! I'LL TAKE YOU TO MIZU!" I shouted out.
Nova came up to me and held me by my collar.
"You should prepare your tears. We're going to wipe out everybody after we get her back." Nova said. I sat in shock once more, unable to respond or move.
Genesis killed Shane and Dustin in front of me, then peered down to my level. Zeal and Nova all looked down at me as well.
"Red eyes huh... haven't seen those in a while, have we, Zeal?" Genesis said. His blue eyes shifted to a red color and Zeal scoffed.
"So, you have it too. No matter, you won't be able to do much with it anyways. Genesis, grab those two right there." From a crowd of people their soldiers were collecting, I could see Dante's girlfriend and sister.
"ENOUGH! SHE'S WITH MY WIFE! I CAN GET HER FOR YOU!" I screamed out again. Without hesitation, Genesis cut straight through Dante's sister's neck and she fell to the floor in a mixed pool of blood.
"Your wife huh? You mean Moonlight, right?" Zeal asked. I knew he could hear me!
"Yes! I can go to her and get Mizu and give her back. Nova, she's been taken care of, has no scars, eating well, she's a healthy kid! We took care of her and she's as healthy as the rest of us!" I said, attempting to reassure Nova, but she only looked at me with pity.
"As healthy as you are is a standard below poor. Where is she?" Nova asked. Zeal let me up and I walked through the crowd of people, looking for Moonlight. I gave Tavian more signals as quietly as I could and stationed my army right above an overhanging slab of ice and stone that stood above the town center.
"Right here! Moonlight, give Nova her child back. It turns out Mizu was her kid all along. See? She's in perfect condition!" Moonlight gladly handed Mizu off to Nova. Nova gladly took her child back, but her look of irritation didn't change after that.
"Thanks," Nova said. In a split second, before I could react to an impulse I had of danger, Nova slammed the tip of her dagger straight into the bottom of Moonlight's head. It cut through her mouth and stuck through the top of her head, dropping her to the ground.
There wasn't an emotion I could use to identify what I felt right now. It felt as if time froze while watching Moonlight's eyes roll into the back of her head and Nova walk off unscathed.
It took me about three seconds to react, but all I felt was an undying rage toward Nova and Zeal. The thing that broke my composure was Zeal laughing and looking at me, saying:
"You should've known what humans are capable of."
I screamed out in pure emotional agony as several arrows from above me launched into Zeal and Nova's bodies. Those two bastards made it to the transporter in time with Mizu before Tavian slammed a sledgehammer into it, shattering the metallic contraption into thousands of pieces.
I sat staring at the sky without blinking, just attempting to collect my thoughts. A million things shot through my head rapidly as I tried to control my anger. My son would grow up without a mother... he would grow up without knowing how wonderful Moonlight was. I would grow old without my wife.
"FUCK YOU ZEAL! I WILL FIND YOU AND I WILL KILL YOU!" A veil of red covered my eyes and I panted heavily, unable to collect my thoughts and make sensible decisions.
I sat like this for what felt like hundreds of years, staring down at Moonlight as her blood pooled underneath my knees, flowing to meet with the other pools around me.
"Orion... can you hear me?" Tavian said. I tilted my head up to look at Tavian as he put his hand on my shoulder. I slapped it off, attempting to wipe the dried tears off of my cheek.
I looked around me to see the soldiers that came from the transporter all on their knees with their hands tied behind every one of their backs. The absence of emotions in my body made it easier to look at all of their terrified faces.
"Genesis vanished out of thin air. We tried to catch him first, but he was gone before you even screamed." Dante said, looking down at his dead sister. Everybody around us was silent, looking at each other with worry in their eyes. They were right to do that.
I fully stood up this time, throwing my sword on the ground in front of me. It killed me to say this... but Zeal was right. I should've known what humans are capable of.
Time and time again, it was even the reason we all moved here. It was to escape the invasion of humans. To escape the grasp of violent humans, the beings who can't deal with peace must create conflict.
The humans are what killed Moonlight. The humans are what made my son motherless. The humans are what is causing me so much agony that I cannot feel anything in my core. Zeal once stated that it was the White Stones' job to become the leaders of such a conflicted species.
"Tavian... Dante... everybody else... pick up your blades. It's become clear to me what Zeal meant. Humans seem to be a plague... I will cure humanity of humans. Take that group of five right there." I said, pointing at five scared people looking up at me.
"...What are you thinking, Orion?" Tavian asked me. I turned my head up to him, attempting to look as I did before, but no emotion returned to my face.
"Curing humanity. See which ones would be good slaves. If they don't seem to be as strong as our soldiers, gut them and save their innards, we'll need to give them some kind of food after I put them all in prison." I looked all around me to see several screaming faces and looks of terror.
"Orion, this isn't you!" Tavian told me. I grabbed him by his collar and lifted him off of the ground, slamming him against the wall of my old, raised deck.
"I don't give a fuck. Gut them, save their innards, or I'll kill you and do the same. AM I CLEAR?!" I lowered him from my deck and turned around before he could answer, walking back over to my dead wife.
I picked up her lifeless body and walked into our backyard. It wasn't much, as we had just put effort into planting flowers that grew in the cold, but it was still ours. I couldn't help but shed a tear as I heard screaming of all kinds of magnitudes erupting from the town center.
Humans... time and time again. Their selfish desires are what cause them to do indescribable acts like this. Zeal... he's been corrupted by them on Earth. They got to him and ruined a White Stone capable of being a normal person. He conducted the killings of several of my friends... but I wouldn't stop just here.
This Isle is mine. I destroyed the only way to get here and now, I'll turn this Isle into one big sanctuary for my people and my soldiers. It will be a big barracks where I can pool together people, breeding them to wipe out whatever Zeal has built on Earth.
I will wipe out any trace of humans left. Humans take everything, they took the love of my life from me and didn't bat an eye because they weren't the ones losing something. I'll make them understand loss and I'll burn it into the back of their eyelids. They won't ever forget what it means to lose somebody. I'll torture them, I'll ruin their lives, and I'll bear that alone.
Zeal prepared for this day, long ago, by restricting my ability to kill humans. Had it been me against all of them, I would've killed every last person with no delay nor resistance. Those humans who ruined my life and trillions before me... I will kill every single one left in existence, and then we can head towards a life of peace.
Nathan won't even know that generation of peace, as this would take several generations of soldiers being bred to wipe out that species. It would be horrible to expect them to just listen to me when I request humanity to be completely deleted, but they'll understand slowly. Even if I must use an iron fist to explain it.
Everybody will hate me... but they'll understand one day that I was a hero for not ruining the System inside of me, and instead of preparing for a war that will come several generations down the line.
I will kill Nova and Zeal with my bare hands.
