"Ra?!" I shouted out. With a smile, he flipped the spear widely, striking the ground with it confidently. He had never been a strong fighter at all...not nine months ago, at least. I hadn't seen him since he left with Kire to live in private with him. Perhaps through all of that time I haven't seen him, he returned with a purpose made to take out Arthur and Finlis Vega?
Both standing in front of me, they focused in on Ra specifically.
"I'm a lot more useful now, Carl. We can take these guys." Ra exclaimed. While I didn't want to shoot down his confidence, I also couldn't just run. I pulled out the small stick my gun turned into at will, and enlarged it, showing it off in front of the two.
"Arthur, let's go!" Finlis shouted out. The two moved fast, so fast that the wind angled their bodies away from one another when they cornered Ra.
I shot the gun off and the bullet bounced off of other ones I shot out, colliding with their skin and joints to slow them down. Once it pierced their knees, Ra slid the spear up the length of their chests and scattered blood everywhere. The more I looked at the spear, the more I realized that it wasn't coated in Red Strands...but it was instead blood.
"The blood of my enemies had powered me up, that's my favorite part about this little guy!" Ra said out loud. He held the spear up to show it off to me, and Arthur stole it out of his hands, whipping it through the air and launching it at breakneck speeds toward Ra.
With a simple pull of his hand downward, the spear stopped millimeters away from Ra's skull, falling back into his hands as simple as possible. He flipped the spear and his body with it, warping her body around Finlis's attacks. He could attack fast and worked without any discrimination toward the spear in Ra's hand.
His fast movements, reinforced by his mysterious source of power, made Finlis probably one of the more terrifying people I've ever encountered. Finlis broke the speed of sound running toward me. All I could truly do was shoot myself away with the gun, until one of my bullets collided with Ra's spear and powered it in a weird way, almost as if it was an engine.
With the spear smoking from the source of my bullets, Ra threw it straight to Arthur. After an attempt to catch it, Arthur was pulled back from the force of the spear and lodged into the same cliff face Obsidia was stuck in. I charged a bullet with my gun, taking a heavy hit to my shoulder that very obviously imploded the bone, and shot it directly into Arthur's chest. He was stunned for a moment, but very obviously affected.
I could tell it was something that damaged him greatly by his twisted face's reaction to the hit. Finlis warped to Arthur's side and pulled the spear out. He attempted to wield it but was still unable to thanks to Ra's control of the weapon.
Finlis eventually stopped trying the weapon, running over to me with his fists primed. I thought I could block them, but the speed of his punches was crippling.
He struck me in the side of the head and my vision instantly dazed. On top of that, Finlis kicked me in the stomach and unleashed a combo of 50 punches all in my stomach before I could even react. He ended the encounter by lifting his foot above both of our heads and attempting a heel kick that would cave my head in.
I shot away with my gun, severing his knee with my ax, and copying the same movements that stunned him and launched him back fifty feet with a kick to the throat.
The greatest thing about being under Sky and Dani in terms of strength was that no enemy was prepared for us to be as high of a caliber as we were.
Finlis was in midair, attempting to slide on the ground to recover his footing. While he was in midair, the gun was stationed forward, charging up all Essence Strands in the atmosphere out of a four-mile radius. The amount of power and Strands that would come out of the barrel is likely to rival Shike's ability to absorb kinetic energy. Without any hesitation, I pulled the trigger and the gun exploded in my hands, launching out a bullet the size of a boulder right in front of me.
The scorching winds that came from the heat of the barrel immolated Finlis's outer layer of skin, causing him to smoke as the trees and rocks turned to burned ash and magma. Finlis stood, looking at the ground and the charred half of his body on the right side.
"Hah..." I panted, noticing the strain the shot took on my body. I fell to the ground, reclaiming my breath as Finlis remained stationary.
"Did we...win...?"
"Incarnation of Vega."
From directly behind me, I heard Arthur's stoic voice radiate a pressure that made me sick. I turned my head and tried to dodge forward, but by the time I moved, I was already impaled by a spear he was holding, right under my heart.
"For hundreds of thousands of years, The Vega Clan had been stomped out by Asterios. Everything we did was met with equal force, no matter the category. If we wished to raise a thousand children, the Asterios would take two thousand. They have been the villains this entire time." Arthur said. I listened to him as his voice started to rise in volume.
"For hundreds of thousands of years, we were oppressed...now, we are not. The Asterios finally ended after Faith was taken over, and Sky and Dani were sealed away. There are opportunities now that there weren't before. One of those opportunities is the genocide of the other Clans. Achamo, Danafall, Eternia. You name it, I'll kill it. The Vega's will reign supreme." Arthur said.
He slid the spear out of my chest and kicked me into the scorched cliff behind me. I knew he would follow up with an attack again, so I rolled out of the way, holding the hole in my chest to prevent myself from bleeding any more.
However...this wound looks to be fatal.
