As Mr. Awazzy left them, Alex turned to Maria.

Alex: Is there anything else worth seeing before we head to the auction?

Maria: There are a few other pieces that might interest you. Let's go take a look.

As the auctioneer presented the first piece, the audience oohed and aahed. The jade carvings were beautifully preserved and clearly held a lot of historical value.

Alex: Interesting,You'd do that for me? Well I can spend a bit, I don't mind .

There are murmurs in the crowd, but no one else bids.

Auctioneer: Going once ...going twice ...sold! To the gentleman in the back.

The audience applauds, and Maria smiles.

Alex: I can't believe I just won that necklace!
