The rest period ended as quickly as it came, the sun rose, replaced the moon and the fully rested Bultear stood ready for the third day of training. He turned his head to the approaching Sinthia, the crumbs of food rarely experienced still on his lips. To the smile of greeting Sinthia opened her mouth.
"Are you ready?"
"Oh, yes I am."
"You seem to be in a good mood."
"How I could not. The food I'm eating is something I never thought I would be able to eat, the pay is amazing, the situation I find myself is a much better one than before. The only thing I had to do was die!"
"You feel reborn."
"Indeed."
"Now you'll have the money and social status to act out your perverted fantasies, good for you."
*cough*
"I'm no pervert, the things I like are perfectly fine, nothing out of the ordinary."
Bultear's attempt fell on very deaf ears as she continued.
"As I have already said, I hope that you can keep thinking that in the future."
"It's that bad huh? I heard of cults, the constant danger of going insane, death being around every corner and the like."
"Don't worry, my words are unnecessary. Soon you will go on missions and see for yourself."
"That's very true. We'll see how crazy it gets. Considering that my rebirth shocked all of you means that It can't get worse than this."
"Nice optimism."
Bultear to his eyes to the source of such a grumpy voice, a blonde man with blue eyes coming into view.
"Oh, you seem well rested Pax. That's nice."
"Don't be so friendly to me underling, refer to me as Lieutenant Pax from now on."
"Don't be so mean I thought you wanted to be friends."
It was the oozing sarcasm and clear lack of respect that caused his ayes to twitch.
"No need, are you happy? We're even now."
"As you see my mood is great and our moment of bonding is one of the main reasons."
"Bonding? Knocking me out cold? For doing my job?"
"Yes, exactly!"
"You could have revealed his weird kinks so he had to retaliate."
"What? Kinks? Is that the reason? He revealed nothing special when interrogated him aside from the missing dog... If such he's that perverted than we might just have to hand him over to the regular police."
"Guys! We're even now no need to dwell over the past.."
He jumped as if electrocuted, his sudden movements broke the conversation that threatened to go down a road that was very bad for him. He quickly walked up to Pax and offered a handshake.
"...You brainwashed me and I punched you a couple of times so now it's water under the bridge!"
Bultear smiled as wide as he could, his white teeth practically glowed.
"...A couple of times...*sigh*I guess we did get off to a bad start. Whatever soon we'll be entrusting our lives to each other, so I don't mind starting from zero with you."
He stretched his hand halfway then stopped for a moment, looked at Bultear closely then shook his palm.
"This time our handshake went well."
*hahaha* *hahaha*
"It sure did Bultear. I'm Pax Granier, Second seat of the third division.
"I'm Bultear Amalen, new recruit of the third division I hope we can get along."
"Likewise."
This was just the first step, none of these two men were particularly fond of each other it was more of a necessity than anything else.
"I am glad you are now best friends, but he needs to get a hang of his third ability today since we don't have much time to waste holed up in this place. In the first place we were lucky that Sully is cowering for us with his team but if a new mission pops up we need to be ready."
They both agreed as the trio moved out to finish this wild training experience
