Only a Beast

"We did it"Liam voiced out.Cheers rang out between the small group as smiles appeared on their faces.Although what they defeated was weak,it was the swiftness and almost perfect coordination that elicited the joy.

Even William who had collapsed to the ground has a small smile on his face as he felt the energy he lost was worth it.

"It seems our group have a chance at working. Theodore,Oliver and John,do not think you are of little use to the team as everybody else were used only because of a chance.I believe yours will come soon"After saying that,he look towards Vather who was removing his spear from the dead body.

"Hey Vather,that was a nice spear throw,and your target sense is so good, although I think an arrow will be much flashier"Liam said grabbing his shoulder tight.

"Gotta admit Vather,It truly didn't have the tag rare element for nothing.You did great bro."He said slowly removing his hand from his shoulder

"So William is out as he's spent all his energy to create that opening,so William,just stay at the back and watch the fight when we're fighting next time,ok,so let's move on to the next target,we have points to harvest."He voiced out as he lead the team deeper into the forest their morale increasing.

A dead carcass of a bull like beast,was on the ground,A spear lounged on its head impaling it to death.Vather steadily removed spear from the beast head and wipe away the blood.

"That's a total of 90 points,but there's less than twenty minutes left,let's go around and check what we can find."There were little scratch marks here and there on Liam and Henry's body,but it was nothing serious and they were the only ones injured in the entire group So far they have have killed 10 early body tempering stage beasts and 4 middle body tempering stage beaststhey can feel their coordination growing with every fight..Fortunately,they haven't met a late body tempering stage best.

Vather smile bloomed,no role could have been given to him better than throwing the last blow.

That was when suddenly Liam watch beeped,since he was so excited,he just read it out loud."-10EXP deducted","what?.He immediately turned back with speed and discovered one of them was missing,"where's Dionne".

A golden light flashed with speed,as a spear collided with a punch, sending out shockwave that immediately,blew Oliver away.

Vather was blown to the air,as he did a backflip,his two legs slammed into the ground and sliding back, digging a centimeter deep long crack on the ground.

An ape with a green fur that perfectly blended with the colours of the environment, stood before them.What surprised Vather most as the ape was able to dodge his blow and send him flying backwards with just pure power.Something that he thought it's impossible for a mindless beast.

"A peak body tempering stage beast",Vather solemn voice echoed in the air,as the group face turned ashen with fear.No matter how many they're, they're only at the early and middle body tempering stages,they might have had a chance with a beast at the late stage,if they still were at their peak and with total coordination but they were all almost spent as the time countdown was slowly ending.Defeating a peak body tempering stage with their cultivation is impossible.

A golden light tore through the air with speed,as a golden spear and fist collided against each other,two beams of light clashed in the forest,one green and one golden,as their presence flashed like fireflies at night.

"Run"Liam voiced out as he dashed opposite where the fighting was taken place,the remaining group of 8 students following closely behind him.

Vather watched as the Liam led the group further into the forest,

'He might just become quite a great leader,if properly trained',he thought to himself when suddenly a punch slammed on his face.The green furred ape who was trying it's best to restrict the power as it came to learn, they'll only disappear if the blow can kill them,but with it restricting it's strength,he might be able to torture him well before he disappeared too.

But it was shocked when Vather's head bending sideways slowly stopped moving even though he was using at least 90% of its strength.

"It's really boring faking weak all the time don't you think."Vather said as he looked into the ape's green eyes.

It immediately distance itself away from the unusual person before him.

"You are a little too smart for an ape don't you think."A puff of smoke appeared from the apes mouth as he moved towards Vather with speed angered by the taunt in his voice.

"But I guess you're only a beast in the end"

He voiced out as he sent his fist smashing out as well when suddenly the ape's hand shifted down a bit and heading for his chest now wasn't a punch but a claw as iron claws grew out of the apes hand before one can even blink.

A sinister smile appeared on the ape's face as he thought to himself maybe it can reap out the young humans heart before it can be teleported away.When suddenly,he felt his claw hit nothing,'an afterimage' it thought when suddenly an overwhelming force smashed into his back from up as the ape was nailed to the ground.Cracks spreading out from where it landed.Slowly raising his head,he saw the young man with flowing golden hair crouched in front of him.Vather's blank gaze shifted to the ape."In the end,you're just a beast"that was the last it heard as life quickly left it's eyes.

Meanwhile Liam who was running away in the forest suddenly felt his watch beeped as it saw"+30EXP awarded".His footsteps slowed down as his mouth became wide opened before he was teleported away with the entire group.

Vather's holographic watch slowly beeped as a silver light cover him,'seems two hours have passed'he thought to himself as he faded away with the light.In the next seconds he appeared in the hall as he moved towards Liam and the group.
