A week had passed since you first arrived in Hollow Bastion and you were still trying to get used to being around your favorite Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy characters. You had become good friends with some of them over the course of the week. Many were just like you had imagined! There were a couple differences of course. Like one major one you definitely noticed. Some – well most – of the guys you knew flirted with you at every chance they got. Yuffie said it was totally obvious that they were all head over heels for you, but you insisted that it wasn’t anything serious. You held out for the hope that for some of them it was just playful flirting. It definitely made things awkward at times to say the least. You weren’t a spotlight hog and didn't enjoy the limelight like some others – others being Kairi.

Though if the attention was coming from him… Your mind drifted towards thoughts of [BOC].

“[Name]! Hello!” Ven yelled. He was swinging his hand in front of your face attempting to break your thoughts.

“Sorry!” You blushed and gave him a sheepish smile, “I spaced out for a minute there.”

He laughed along with Cloud and Tifa who were also in the kitchen with you. You held your head up hoping they didn't notice your blush. Roxas came downstairs and joined the group. He was tying his tie when he looked up at you, “Ready for school?”

You nodded and quickly finished what was left in your cup. Roxas, now done with his tie, offered his hand. You took it happily and he pulled you out of your seat onto your feet.

“Let’s go.” You chirped and grabbed your bag on the way out the door. Ven and Roxas were at your side and Tifa and Cloud were only a little way behind.

As you walked into school you were greeted by loud cheering. Roxas, Ven, Cloud, and Tifa had all gone to their classes already leaving you to figure out what the cheering was about by yourself.

“Confused [Name]?” Reno chuckled as he walked up to you. He slung his arm around your shoulder casually.

“A bit.” You admitted.

“You do know what tomorrow is right?” Reno asked skeptically. He playfully narrowed his eyes at you.

“Hmm Tuesday?” You offered. He rolled his eyes at your sarcastic answer.

“Tomorrow is the big game against Destiny Academy.” Angeal’s voice cut in. Reno and you turned around to see Angeal coming towards the two of you. Angeal glared at Reno until Reno unhappily removed his arms with a sigh.

“Destiny Academy? Games?” You asked still a bit confused.

“Destiny Academy from Destiny Islands. They are our biggest rival.” Reno smirked and crossed his arms triumphantly as if he had already won.

“The football and baseball games against them are tomorrow.” Angeal responded. You nodded your head thoughtfully.

“What time?”

“6.” Angeal and Reno responded in unison as they glared at each other.

“So the football game”, You pointed to Angeal, “and the baseball game”, You pointed at Reno, “Are at the same time?”

They both nodded and in unison asked, “Want to come?”

You opened your mouth when you were interrupted by Terra who ran over. He clapped Angeal on the back, “Hey Angeal we got a football meet-”. His eyes met yours and he grinned, “[Name]! Are you gonna come to the football game tomorrow?”

“You wish!” Reno smirked, “She’s coming to our baseball game.”

The three of them began to argue and their argument attracted some curious students. A crowd had begun to gather when the bell rang. You breathed a sigh of relief before slipping away. As you left you called out, “Bye guy! Gotta go to first period! See you later!”

The rest of the school day was fast but boring. Some of the girls were gone from class for cheerleading practice and all the football and baseball players were excused from class to practice. Sixth period rolled around and you came to the realization that you hardly did any work the entire day. You walked into the history classroom and noticed a sub. Quickly you took your usual seat by Olette, Roxas, and Riku.

“You may do as you may just keep your voices down.” The sub chirped before picking up a book to read.

The entire class began to talk about their excitement for tomorrow’s game. There was a general buzz of excitement in the air.

“I like this sub.” Roxas joked with a smile.

Olette shook her head and let out a sigh, “I don’t. We were supposed to cover the agricultural benefits on Planet Passim!”

“OK now I do like the sub.” Riku added as he heard what the lesson plans were supposed to be. Your face broke out in a smile as you realized that because the sub said do nothing you were saved from feeling even more like a moron in this class. She was now officially your favorite person of the day. As the class went on the four of you just talked about random things including the football and baseball game happening tomorrow. A few minutes before the bell ran Sora came up to the table.

“Hey guys. Hi [Name].” Sora said awkwardly. You gave him a smile and he handed you a small sheet of folded paper. “Kairi told me to give this to you. I'm not dating her by the way…”

You took the note from him and opened it.

You sighed and rose from your seat, “I’ll be right back.”

Sora took your seat as you turned to head where Kairi was sitting. You sat in the empty seat besides Namine, “Hi.”

Namine gave you a warm smile and Selphie offered you a half smile. Kairi, on the other hand, just sat there with her arms crossed tightly over her chest. Kairi looked at Selphie and Namine and gave them both a nod. Selphie nodded and left the table. Namine hesitated a moment before sighing and walking over to where Sora and them were leaving Kairi and you alone. Kairi put a cheerful smile on her face.

“[Name], [Name], [Name]. I think we got off on the wrong foot.”

You smiled a genuine smile and nodded, “Yeah I totally agree. This whole thing is so silly I mean I didn't even-” Kairi held up her hand motioning for you to be quiet.

“So here are the rules”, she continued to smile but as she kept talking your smile began to fade away, “Rule number one: You will listen to me”, The sweetness in her voice disappeared, “Rule number two: You do not speak to any of the guys without my permission. Lastly rule number three: I have to have a say in who you date. Now if you just follow these three simple rules we’ll get along just fine.”

She sat there happily with a smug smile drawn on her face as you sat stunned. Did she honestly believe you’d say ok to this? You clenched your jaw and took in a deep breath. That was the last straw.

“No.”

Kairi’s smile fell off her face, “Excuse me?”

“I said no Kairi”, You repeated, “I'm not going to listen to any of those rules because every single one of those rules is stupid!”
