Chapter 5

The day was the annual bonfire party. The bonfire party was held at the docs. In the center was the giant bonfire Circling the bonfire are tiki torches and tents and logs. The logs were close to the fire while the tents and the tiki torches were twenty-five feet away. On the right side is the soda bar and the left side is the snack bar. For the snack bar, it was loaded with grilled food that was personally bought by the plumpy happy Principal. As the day turned to night and the party died down. Amelia noticed that only the couples were left. Amelia turned to Anna. "Alright Anna. Now's the time. I'm gonna go over there and you stay here. We'll split up. Just try not to yell at him again." Amelia said to Anna.

Not long after Freddy walked up to Anna. "Look, I don't know about you, but I would really appreciate it if you would accept my apology. I was thinking about it, and I know now that flirting with you when we haven't even got to know each other. Wasn't the best idea." Freddy said to Anna. Freddy held a multi tool up "For you" Freddy said placing the multi tool in her hand. Anna smiled at the gesture. "Gee, thanks... It's such a.. practical. Gift." Anna said gesturing to a log beside them. "How about we get to know each other normally?" Anna asked Freddy. Freddy nodded, and they sat on the log next to each other, rather uncomfortably. Freddie decided to start. He looked at her. "My name is actually Frederick Haswell, but everyone just calls me Freddy." Freddy admitted.

"Nice to meet you, Freddy. My name is Anna Smith." Anna said to Freddy. Freddy took along deep breath. "I'm from Alaska. That's why I haven't took my hoodie off yet. My body just hasn't gotten used to this warm environment yet. I live in a village where the only entertainment is fighting. Fighting in the streets, fighting in an arena, fighting on celebrations. So I studied, and I came here." Freddie said to Anna. Anna looked heartbroken. "wow, that is harsh. but I feel a bit uncomfortable with you confiding your life story with me. We just redone our greetings of meeting each other for the first time. why don't you tell your best friend over there this instead?" Anna asked gesturing to Lionel, who was now over with Amelia, talking to her.

Freddie looked at Lionel and Amelia. "You want me to go over there and ruin their romantic moment? I think I'll pass. I don't want to get into yet another fight." Freddy said to Anna. Anna looked at them closer. "Yeah, you're right.. Alright, I guess it's my turn. I'm from Kentucky. I live in the city and I am the middle child. I don't like attention, so it was uncomfortable for the most popular boy to talk to me in front of a crowd of strangers. I enjoy reading. and I get immersed in the book." Anna said to Freddy.

Lionel sat down with Amelia on a log across from where Freddy and Anna was sitting.. "hello, my name is Lionel Huerta" Lionel said. Amelia looked at him "hey, my name is Amelia Swarez" Amelia said, Lionel smiled "please tell me you're more of a bad influence" Lionel asked with a smirk., Amelia chuckled "let me guess.. Broken family but daddy's rich boy?" Amelia asked, Lionel whistled "you should become a psychologist, what about you?" Lionel asked "principal's daring daughter" Amelia answered, Lionel's eyes and mouth snapped open in shock "wow.. Where have you been all my life?" Lionel asked with a smug look. "Well, you know… mom died, dad became overweight, I got ignored so… now I ignore him" Amelia answered. Lionel nodded in understanding "yeah, totally pegged you for the messed up family type.. Now we can relate" Lionel said, Amelia raised her eyebrow at him "my dad's a player and I don't know my mom, the family business is my responsibility after I graduate" Lionel answered.

Amelia smirked "guess I hit the nail on the head" she said, Lionel chuckled "I'm guessing you helped your friend? Seems she's getting along with my friend now" Lionel said, Amelia looked over to see the two close together and laughing. A smile came across Amelia's face "I gave her a little push but they are the ones who will decide for a relationship" Amelia answered. Lionel noticed a clump of loose hair that fell in front of her blue eyes. Amelia was caught off guard by Lionel's action, she stopped breathing and froze as Lionel tucked it behind her ear. Lionel's hand slid down to Amelia's hand "let's dance" Lionel said "Alright" Amelia said with a small smile.

Zane and Vicki grew up together. Zane is a young lord, while Vicki is a young lady in training. Vicki came from Ireland while Zane came from Florida. Their parents forced them into an arranged marriage at a young age so even thought they are only in high school, they are already married. Zane gently lead Vicki by the hand closer to the bonfire. Zane held her close "Vicki, i know our parents forced our relationship but.. over time i have fallen in love with you" Zane said to Vicki. Vicki gasped in shock, she looked up to see that Zane was blushing. Vicki slowly rose to her tippytoes and gave him a kiss on the cheek, then looked down shyly with a deep blush. Zane looked down at her with a wide smile and gave her a hug.

Anna noticed Amelia and Lionel dancing by the bonfire, Freddy followed her gaze and stood, he turned to face her and bowed with his hand extended to her "will you accept a dance with me, milady?" Freddy asked Anna, Anna slapped his hand and stomped on his foot "why would you do that?" she asked Freddy. Freddy wasn't at all surprised by her reaction and smiled "you know you love it, you're just lucky I find your feisty side adorable" Freddy answered as he grabbed her hand. Anna blushed and followed his lead to the bonfire.
