The mansion was about as bland as Lenora thought it'd be.
Grey stone walls, square. About as big as a typical concrete building but obviously not as tall. Just two floors.
Drifus and Lenora got off the bird and the bird stayed put till they unhooked their belongings.
During this short journey, Lenora had felt many things. She'd seen a lot of things as well. The closer she got to the mansion, the cleaner and the better the surroundings became. She'd come to expect as much. However, she didn't expect to see occasional small houses or not as grand shops in this noble sector. Perhaps this city still valued tradition?
"You are?" the guard stopped them at the gates.
"We're invited guests," Drifus said.
"Then why do I not see an invitation?"
Because I was stupid enough to forget about asking for one. Lenora wanted to sigh but for the time being, kept her neutral face. Things were only going to get worse if she opened her mouth anyway.
