Chapter 6

[Steven Johnson's Point of View]

"Maestro Steven, we have found out that the boy you asked us to look into was a transfer student from the Crystal Cadence." One of my men said, keeping their eyes down.

"What's his name?" I looked at them.

"We weren't able to find that out, maestro." He hesitantly said.

"Are you gonna yell at them?"

"I'm too tired for that."

"Are you sure? I could just take control and discipline them."

"Shut up, Saul."

"Call Damien, and tell him to look into that boy." I muttered with a bored expression.

"As you command, maestro." The men bowed their heads and ran out.

'The starts aren't coming. The words aren't coming either. Now it feels as if even nights are passing without the emptiness fading away, but there's nothing we can do.'

'You are not my oxygen. However, when I wake up, I see you. When I see you, it's like my breath have found oxygen. You are not my oxygen, but you give permission for me to breathe.'

~~~
"What?" I asked the blonde who barged into my office, staring at me with a no-so-happy expression.
"How could you, Steven?!" She exclaimed. "You promised me that I'm your one and only! Yet, you go around f*cking every girl you see!"
"Oh," I sat up, smirking. "Did you find out about my yesterday's session with that redhead?"
"I've had enough, Steven!" She stomped her feet like a 3-year-old. "You either marry me and pledge to be loyal, or I'm out of your life for good!"
"Okay," I leaned back. "Out you go then, Ava."
She stared at me wide-eyed for a few seconds, her mouth slightly shaking. "H-How could you do this to me? After all those promises to spend forever with me? Donde todos esos sin sentido para ti?!"
"What do you think?!" I snapped, having enough of her getting on my nerves. "That was already stupid of you to reject your lover for me, just because I had money!"
"I, on the other hand," I continued. "Already pledged that my loyalty is only for my soulmate. No one else!"
"Speaking of soulmate, you always talk about her, don't you?" She whispered. "Shouldn't you have found her by now?"
'How dare she?'
"Get out of my sight," I growled, having to control myself to not rip her throat apart.
Ava stared at me in shock for a few moments before nodding her head, wiping her tears and turning around on her heel.
But not before muttering something, that didn't seem to have been meant for me to listen.
"I hope you fall in love, mi amor. And I hope that love breaks you, so you know how my heart is suffering."
'Even villains have a soft side for their love.'
'A love that will never leave you.'
'Goodbye, mi amor.'
~~~

I was walking through the empty streets when a young girl bumped into me.

"Sorry." She mumbled, before walking inside a oddly familiar building.

"Wait!" I called, getting her attention. "Why are you going inside that building?"

The girl sighed, rolling her eyes. "Because I want to. Now fuck off."

'Such disrespect! I suggest we behead her immediately!'

"No, Saul. I'm already tired because of Ava's meaningless nonsense this morning."

"Listen, I'm only saying that because a tracker lives in this building, who can track certain people for money. I'm headed there too but why are you going inside?" I ignored her attitude which angered me.

"Well, as a matter of fact, I need to track someone down and get their information." She sighed, tapping her feet impatiently.

"Very well then, senora." I smiled. "Shall we go together?"

"As long as you keep quiet." She sighed, walking inside as I followed her.

~~~
"Very well then, Damien." I smiled at the middle-aged man in front of me, who was rummaging through a messy pile of files, probably looking for the information files that belonged to me and the young girl. "I hope you have what we both want."
"Yes, Steven." He smiled back, taking out a file that belonged to me. "The boy you asked me to look into is Haru Norman. He is studying in-"
"Wait, I'm sorry, did you say Haru Norman?" The girl from beside me spoke.
"Yes, senora." I turned to her. "Do you know him?"
"Yes, he goes to my university." Her eyes met mine. "An absolute nuisance, I must say."
"I see," I turned back to Damien, curious about something. "Can you show me what the young lady is here to receive?"
"Ah yes," Damien rummaged a little more before taking out another file. "Senora, the woman you asked to look into was Dolores Miller."
'Bingo!'
"I think she'll be of great help, what do you say, Saul?"
"I happen to personally know Ms.Miller myself." I turned back to the lady. "I'm actually here to find a way to get rid of her."
"Well," She said what I was hoping she would. "You want to get rid of Dolores, I want to get rid of Haru. Why don't we work together?"
"I happen to agree with you, mi senora."
~~~

"Okay, I got your number." She smiled as we exited the building. "I'll text you the details of Haru later on."

"I'll do the same with Dolores." I smiled back, holding the door for her.

"Oh, how silly of me!" I gently tapped my head. "I forgot to introduce myself." I extended my hand for a handshake. "I'm Steven. Steven Johnson."

She accepted my hand. "Ally Black."

The ties have been made.

The war has begun.

What else is yet to come?
