Monday came, and Akane found himself walking towards the staff's office per his homeroom teacher's instructions.

He was making heads turn left and right, as the students were looking at him with wide eyes, with the female students blushing at the sight of him. He smiles at those who meet his eyes which flustered those who received them.

'Damn, it's like I'm a celebrity. Handsome-men-in-anime logic sometimes doesn't make sense.' He even wore a fake round-framed glasses to complete his diligent student look, which suits him as well. He plans to continue wearing them just because he can.

He arrived at the staff's office in no time, knocking on the door to announce his presence. When he opened the door, he was glad that the teachers only looked at him once, smiled at him, and returned to their duties immediately. He greeted good morning to no one in particular before he entered.

"Oh, Yanagi. Great, you're early. The bell won't be ringing anytime soon, so why don't you take a seat in the meantime." His homeroom teacher, Hanakawa, pointed him at an empty chair before returning to his duties.

Akane went to the chair and sat on it, and for ten minutes, he did nothing but smile like a model on a photoshoot, observing the teachers doing their work. He could not pull out his phone and play on it due to where he is, that's why he does what he is currently doing because he has nothing to do.

Twenty passed before the bell rang and Hanakawa called him over, and they went to the class together. Before entering, Hanakawa gave him instructions on what to do the moment he is called.

"Ran, have you heard? There's apparently a handsome transfer student!" Mouri Ran just set her bag on her chair when her bestfriend, Suzuki Sonoko, greater her with such gossip.

Ran smiled wryly at her antics, already talking about boys when she had just hooked herself up with the Prince of Kicks last week.

'Speaking of which, could it be him?' Ran thought, as her mind wandered to the visitor she saw last Saturday during their club practice.

"I don't know if they're the same person, but I did saw someone who could have been the transfer student. During practice last Saturday, a visitor came to the gym, but he didn't stay long." Ran described what happened to Sonoko.

"What? You meet with a handsome guy and you didn't tell me?!" Sonoko responded in a hysterical fashion.

"It's not like that. I was practicing, and when I saw him, he started walking away." Ran denied her bestfriend's accusations.

"Ah! You must've frightened him with your karate then!" Sonoko said with a mischievous grin.

"Geez, could you stop? Besides, he smiled before leaving, so he's certainly not frightened at all." Ran said, and the eyes of her bestfriend lit up.

"He smiled at you? Really, girl. You attract too much attention from boys… so, is he more handsome than your husband?" Sonoko's shit-eating grin bares at her bestfriend.

"No!.. I mean, he couldn't have been smiling at me. And Shinichi isn't my husband!" Ran denied, flustered at Sonoko for mentioning Shinichi.

"And you didn't answer my question! Now fess up, your husband might be just a deduction maniac, but he is handsome. Is the one you saw last Saturday more handsome than he is?" Sonoko brought her face closer to Ran, who noticed that this time her inquiry is more serious than before.

"… I haven't had a good look since he's somewhat far away, but… I think he is indeed more handsome than Shinichi." Ran confessed.

"Really?!" Excitement laced Sonoko's voice when she heard Ran's answer, but she didn't managed to asked anymore as their teacher arrived.

"Okay, get to your seats. I have an announcement to make." Hanakawa ordered, as he put his things on the podium and looked at his class.

"A transfer student will join your class starting today. And… well, let's just hear it from him. Yanagi, come in."

Akane entered the room with his harmless, pretty boy smile that he developed since last night.

Picking up a piece of chalk, he wrote how his name is written on the blackboard before introducing himself.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Yanagi Akane, and I hope you treat me well." Bowing slightly as he finished his introduction.

There room was silent for a moment, before Sonoko raised her hands.

"Here, here, here! I have a question! Teach, let me ask him a question!"

Following her footsteps, the other students also started to raise their hands to ask questions for themselves, while the others started talking about Akane.

Hanakawa shook his head in defeat and went to ask if Akane wanted to answer their questions. They don't have important matters to discuss, so he's fine with playing along with them this time. With Akane's approval, Hanakawa had his enthusiastically curious student to ask the first question.

Being direct as usual for these kinds of things, Sonoko fired her question. "Yanagi, do you have a girlfriend?"

Akane kept his smile on and didn't answer for a while, until he finally said "No".

"Yanagi, where did you came from?" Another student asked.

"I came from the US."

There were a few back and forth of questions and answer, asking about random things about him which he answered as well, not that he minded sharing the past of the previous host.

"Okay, one last question, then we'll start the class." Hanakawa interjected when he noticed the time.

"Ahh! Then let me ask the last question!" Sonoko once more raised her hands. Seeing how determined she is, her classmates give in and gave the last chance to her.

"Tell us your type of girl, Yanagi!" Was Sonoko's question, which caused a weird tension in the room.

Akane didn't mind her question, much less get embarrassed about it. Unlike Japanese reincarnators in Isekai stories that gets embarrassed when asked such questions when they turn into teens in their new life, something Akane thought that the process of them growing up affecting their psyche to be in the state of mind of their age, that bullshit wasn't affecting him too much yet as he's only in his new body for three days. He believed that at the time goes on, he'll started thinking like a someone befitting his age in his new body. Then again, this question was not something to be embarrassed about.

Looking around the room, he found someone who fulfilled his criteria based on physical appearance alone. Feeling a little cheeky, he pointed at her and gave his answer.

"Based in appearance only, that classmate over there is my type." When they looked at where he was pointing, they saw their female classmate who had her blonde hair reaching the base of her neck, and wearing a glasses.

"You heard that, Sekizawa?"

"Woah, Yumi, you go!"

Their classmates started teasing the person that Akane pointed, which caused her to blush and hide her face behind her hands.

Their teacher decided to join in as well, as luck would have it that the seat besides her is empty and was designated for Akane.

"Well, aren't you lucky, Yanagi? You to sit next to Sekizawa as it is an empty seat. Now then…"

Akane walked towards the chair he was pointed to, put down his stuff where they should be, and whispered an apology to his neighbor.

"Hey, I'm sorry about everyone. I'm Yanagi Akane." He said with a helpless smile, as if he was also the victim.

"N-no, it's fine. They're just teasing me, anyway. I'm Sekizawa Yumi." She replied, still in red due to embarrassment as well as the source of said embarrassment was talking to her, who is incredibly handsome.

They stopped talking after greeting each other as the teacher started his explanation, as they didn't want to get in trouble.

The day passed, and Akane was certainly the star of the day. He hasn't been left alone, even going to the toilet, as his classmates kept on coming to him.

But classes was over, and now he's walking back home. And even then, he's still not alone.

"Who would've thought that you two live close to each other, huh? This must be fate at work. Why don't you ditch your husband and get hitched with this hot guy, Ran?" Sonoko said, teasing her bestfriend.

When he was asked where he lived, his answer made them know that he's living near the place of one of their classmate, near Mouri Detective Agency.

When they knew that there's also a pizzeria just below his place, one of their classmate asked Akane if it's fine to hangout at his place for a welcoming party, and the others said that they will pay for everything and even help clean the mess they would make. Not finding wrong with that, he accepted, and more than ten managed to join, as their other classmates have responsibilities like part-time jobs and club activities.

"Sonoko, stop that already! And for the thousand time, Shinichi isn't my husband!" Ran complained, which caused laughter to their group.

Their banter didn't end until they reached Akane's place. Akane brought the most upstairs while four went to buy their food and drinks. Twenty minutes later, everybody gathered along with those who went out and their welcoming party started.

"Still, Yanagi. You're so handsome it's impossible that you didn't have a girlfriend before." Sonoko told Akane, drunk by the atmosphere of their party.

"Well… it's complicated. Let's just say that I'm a romanticist and leave it at that." Akane replied. From the memories that he received, the previous host's relationship with girls in the past certainly isn't that of a boyfriend-girlfriend, but he doesn't have to tell them that, does he?

"What, are you waiting for your love at first sight and soulmate or something?" Even more curious, Sonoko dig even deeper.

"Well, you never know. I'm not just too eager, and besides, we're young." Akane's excuse, but he also started to get tired of answering her questions, so he passed the baton to her.

"Forget about me since I have nothing to tell, Mouri said earlier that you found yourself a boyfriend. Why don't you tell us about him instead?"

Now their classmates started questioning Sonoko in return, while Akane pay himself on the back and lie his back on the sofa.

"Great work, Yanagi." A voice appeared on his side, so he looked at them and smiled.

"Yeah, didn't think this young lady is obsessed with love." Akane replied to Sekizawa Yumi, his seatmate in class who also participated in the party.

"Well, Ran said that Sonoko had bad luck with boys since forever, and this is the first time that someone went on their way for her, catching a knife to protect her. She must still be high since then." She replied.

"True. Well, speaking of boyfriend, don't you have one, Sekizawa?" Akane asked, not giving too much thought into it.

When she heard his question, she blanked out for a moment before blushing, as she remembered his words earlier that morning.

"N-no, I do not." She answered.

"I see. Well, there's no rush. There isn't a correct answer on when to fall in love, so it's fine to take your time." Akane said, before grabbing a slice of pizza in one hand and a glass of soda in another.

"Ahh!" Everyone was interrupted by Ran who was looking at her phone.

"What's wrong, Ran?" Sonoko asks her.

"I asked dad to eat out with Conan earlier and he agreed, but he suddenly said that he'll be going away somewhere for a job, and Conan doesn't have dinner." Ran explained.

She suddenly got up and grabbed her stuff, and she started saying goodbye.

"I'm sorry, guys, but I have to go home. I have to make dinner for Conan."

Just as she was about to leave, Akane had an idea.

The Admin explained that his job is to alter the events in any world he found in, as the data of what would happen after is what the Admin needs.

In exchange for a Subject of doing changing something significant, they will earn Gift Tokens, similar to the ones they received before their transmigration.

If Akane wanted to earn more token, whether to gain more power or to have new toys, Akane thought that surrounding himself while still keeping a distance from the protagonists was his best bet for doing his job.

And that's why Akane was giving this proposition to Ran.

"We still have an enormous amount of food. If it's fine with everyone, why not let him come here to eat?"

This will also give him a great excuse to finally meet the person whom the show was named after.
