Test (Part-1)

"Truthfully, it is difficult to determine a transcendent strength as there are many weird abilities that cannot be classified, or it is difficult to understand their strength as it can depend on many factors, but except in such cases, we normally use the simplest way of measuring the amount of mana as standard."

"In the early stages of transcendence, we determine strength simply by the amount of mana a transcendent has."

"We use a special device called 'Mana detector' to measure the amount of mana and give output in numerical form in a transcendent."

"First, when you just awakened, your mana is between '1 and 100' points, then you are a Low-Rank transcendent."

"When your mana reaches between '100 and 500' points, you are a Middle-Rank transcendent."

"Continued like that when mana is between '500 and 2000', they are High-Rank transcendent, and when it reaches more than '2000', then they are Peak-Rank transcendent," and then he stopped.

"What about above peak rank?" Aeon could not help but ask. When Ian heard Aeon's question, he smiled. "Above Peak-Rank Mana is not the most important factor in determining strength." At that stage, the quantity of mana is irrelevant to them."

"Okay, stop thinking about it. That is still too far for you. Just focus on the current situation, as you first need to focus on increasing your mana and strengthening your body. But it seems your body is quite strong." As he glanced at Aeon, feeling surprised.

"Which frankly is a bit weird, as your talent seems to be lightning, which is an elemental talent and not a physical talent, but you still have such a strong body."

"You already fought, so you should know the importance of the body at least in the early stages, but our bodies have limits, so later, it becomes increasingly difficult to strengthen the body. So the early stage after awakening is the best time to strengthen the body."

"And second is mana, whose importance I did not need to say, but never judge your opponent just based on mana, as you are the best example, as the mana you possess now is only Low-Rank transcendent, but according to the description from your friends, you should have defeated a high-rank transcendent."

"So that person was High-Rank transcendent?" Aeon said it with surprise, as he was not sure of it.

"He was; all of their bodies were disentangled, but I checked in the union database using the information your friends provided and found the person. His name was Samuel, a leader of a small mercenary team; he was registered as High-Rank Transcendent."

As Ian said, a holographic screen appeared on his cell phone, showing the image and various information about Samuel.

He was surprised when he found that Aeon managed to beat a high-ranked transcendent, and the opponent was not an ordinary transcendent but a transcendent with talent. So, he is also looking forward to seeing how capable he is.

"Okay, now adjust your state and mind, as your performance will decide how much benefit you get." 

"Benefit, what benefits? Didn't my A-Rank talent already get the highest resources and facilities?" Aeon asked as he did not understand what benefits Ian was talking about.

Ian smiled, "you naturally get the highest resources, but that does not mean everything. For some special things or techniques, you not only need points but need access permission, which can only be given by the sub-captains of different units or by some with similar positions or by much higher positions in the union."

"Points are simple; they are like currency. You can get points by doing various missions, and those points can be used to redeem a variety of things. But for some special weapons, information, or higher-level resources, points are not the only things that are needed; you also need to have high enough access permission from higher-ups."

"So now, seeing your performance, they will decide what degree of access you will be granted. With that, you can get access to buy many good things, so take this chance and try your best, as later it is quite difficult to get higher access."

Aeon nodded, as he also understood that he had to show them my talent. So he could get some better things.

Ian then looked at Ethan and Luke, "You two follow me, and as you two truthfully still have not joined, we need to make IDs for you both", and then they left Aeon alone as he should adjust his state.

Aeon sat alone in that enormous hall for almost an hour when Ian came back, but he was alone as his friends needed to fulfil some procedures before they could fully join the union.

As time passed, many people started to arrive, and a few big shots also arrived as they sat in VIP stands covered in glass. And a few minutes later, the highest leaders came, and among them were, 'Maeve Wiley' and an old man standing next to her.

Then suddenly, a person appeared in front of Aeon, who was wearing a simple T-shirt with messy hair and a childlike face. It looked like that he came here directly after a nap, but all the people here did not mind the clumsy appearance of this person.

"Okay, I will be the instructor that tests you; my name is Michael". The person with the messy hair said.

They then stood a few metres apart, and Michael, while yawning, said, "Since you just awakened, I will not attack you actively, so you just need to come after me with everything and show us what you really got."

The moment he said that Aeon moved without any hesitation and wanted to land a quick surprise attack.

"Oh, a quick attack", Michael noticed.

Seeing Aeon directly attack the instructor without wasting a moment with lightning surprised many people who were watching, as his speed alone would make him defeat some high-rank transcendents.

But the moment Aeon reached close to Michael, suddenly something eerie came from his shadow, which surprised him "What the...?"
