Strongest Hunter's Ascension

The code name “Shikari” was the only thing that Arun learned from his Status window, about his past. Why he didnt have his memories, when everyone in the Tower of Yggdrasil had theirs, he didnt know. But three things were clear to him from the start. First, he was an anomaly in the Tower of Yggdrasil, and his existence would be erased if the truth came out. Second, unlike others in the Tower, he knew exactly where he was going and was helped by someone outside of the tower. Third, Shikari, meaning The Hunter is a pseudonym that was best suited to him. Because he felt that he had a taste of blood before even setting foot in the Tower. In a world that should breed fear and concern, an environment that makes his fellow players falter, Arun instead finds himself thriving. Perhaps, he was born for this kind of world. _______________________________________________ One can chat with me on my Discord: https://discord.gg/kb7jehGPFX

Sleepless Night-1

After traveling for two days, Arun soon realized the Adventurer Guild's impact on the surrounding environment. He thought he was a bigshot hunter when he killed goblins and small pigs. But the two-day journey made him realize how wrong he was. The journey made him realize that he was in no way an apex predator around here. There are things that are more dangerous than he could imagine.

He had not slept a moment in the two days. Currently, the night was almost upon him. And he was running for his life through this thick forest. He had tightly held the bow, with an arrow knocked on it. He was running from a creature that looked little bit like an old-school werewolf from the movies from the eighties. And it was a very dangerous creature.

He killed one the other day, and according to a notification that he got when he unmuted the system for an hour or so, he got to know that this creature was Kobold.

Like a werewolf, these creatures were humanoid. But while chasing someone, like him, they tend to use all of their limbs. They have faces that resemble that of a dog, red eyes that glow in the dark, talons, and teeth sharp as they come and they are very brutal and ruthless to their prey. He should know, considering he accidentally bumped into three of them while they were munching on some bones…

He had managed to kill two of them, but the last one was after him. Arun could hear the growls of the creature, as it was closing in on him. He could hear the crackling of branches from above, the creature was following him from the trees. He had been running for far too long. It was then he decided to take a stand. Abruptly he stopped, aiming his bow above, aimed at the place where he last heard the creature.

But then he found himself surrounded in the pin-drop silence of the forest. He knew that the creature was around him, somewhere. His senses went on an overdrive, trying to get any quiet about the whereabouts of the creature.

A sudden crack was enough to trigger his senses. He abruptly turned to the right and let go of the arrow. The creature was airborne when the arrow struck him straight in the chest. But the arrow there didnt have any effect on it. The creature still managed to pounce at him, biting his shoulder in the process, while simultaneously doing a barrel roll, through whose inertia, it threw him toward a tree.

Arun had leveled up a lot in the two days, so his Dexterity was at an all-time high. Immediately he brushed off the pain and stood up. He had lost his bow in the process but still had his secret weapon with him. He saw that the creature was charging at him once again, so he took his axe and got ready to face him.

Instead of poncing at him, again, the creature stopped a few feet away to taunt him. It started growling and started baring its teeth. He had seen that these creatures like to play with their play before they devour them. But they tend to this to weaker beasts. From what he had seen.

Which was why, he just stood there, seemingly angry at the creature. He wanted to have an out brawl, but this fucker is taking me for a weak bitch.

Angry, he immediately sent some mana through the axe and threw it at its face. The axe easily split its face in half and stopped only when the mana fed to it got consumed. The creature fell to the ground, dead. And soon its body got disintegrated, leaving behind nothing.

With heavy breaths, Arun made it to his axe and put it inside his inventory again. He then made his way to the bow and the arrows that had fallen from his quiver. After picking them up, sat down under the tree. It was then he received another message from the system..

After reading the name of the sender, he immediately closed the invitation. Since yesterday, he has received many invitations. And every time he just reads the name of the sender and just minimizes all the invitations. After all, what was the point in learning about the invitation, he could not accept them in the first place…

To heal his injury, he took two bottles of healing potion and drank it.

It had been two days since he had slept. Every waking moment of his life he had been either running away from something or hunting something. He needed some sleep, but he didnt know where he could rest. From what he had seen, the monsters of the area would devour him alive, if they come across him, sleeping out in the open.

I should have bought the camping tent that the Shopkeeper showed me. It could deter beasts and monsters from approaching. I should have listened to damn old and brought the thing.

A sound made him jump to his feet. It sounded like a mating call from a deer. But he knew, there was no way there was a deer in this world. He must have sat foot in the area of another beast. And from the sound of it, the beast seems nearby. He then decided to climb up a tree. And make his way to the top. He wanted to see what kind of beast he was dealing with here.

He had to jump from one tree to another for a few minutes but soon found his target. And he was not sure what he was dealing with there.

It was a whole herd of beasts before him. Every single one of them was as big as a truck and looked like a big version of a porcupine. They had a black color exoskeleton on their back, which was filled with razor-sharp spikes. With their little heads, all of them were eating leaves from bushes, and trees that they had toppled down.

They seem peace-loving creatures. But quickly he shook his head. Even the knife-throwing pigs seemed peace-loving creatures to him at first, and he remembers how that turned out. Their size told him that it would be for the best if he didn't go near these beasts. So without wasting his time, he got down and started heading towards the river…
