The beginning of the plot

Jake was sitting in his office alone as usual while he handled the fiefdom paperwork when there was a knock on the door.

Knock Knock

"It's open"

When the door opened Jake could see his brother with a worried face.

"What happened Peter?"

"It's serious brother the second princess was attacked by bandits while she was coming here"

The second princess was Jake's fiancée their engagement was decided after Jake and Peter's father died fighting the demons during the last demon invasion. The royal family saw this as a way to seize some of the lands and resources of the Aldcrest fiefdom. Unfortunately for the royal family, things didn't go as expected. Jake was not naive and did not become a puppet of the royal family despite the efforts of those, who offered the hand of the second princess who was said to be one of the most beautiful women on the continent. Even worse was that the second princess ended up falling in love with Jake, due to that their engagement went ahead.

So, when Jake heard those words, he jumped out of his chair and said to his brother.

"Indicate the way we will rescue her and exterminate these bandits"

When Peter heard those words, he led the way with an evil smile on his lips that Jake didn't notice. Everything was going according to Peter's plan.

Along the way Jake realizes that the group of soldiers accompanying them is smaller than usual to exterminate the bandits. Paying even more attention, Jake also realizes that these aren't the usual soldiers who normally accompany him. At this he turns to Peter and asks.

"Why do we have such a low number of soldiers for this mission and where are the soldiers that are normally with me?"

"There was a sighting of a group of centaurs in a nearby village, so I dispatched the usual soldiers and a few more to see if we can capture them."

Faced with that answer, Jake realized why he had such a low number of soldiers and they weren't the usual ones.

After all, some types of monsters could be captured. Once captured, monsters can be used for many things. Centaurs can be used for transport and fighting. Due to their strength and speed, they are great for pulling carriages. As for fighting, they are excellent archers and can make attacks breaking the front lines. The only problem with this is that it is difficult to get enough of them to fight and make them fight for the humans, due to this only the royal family in the Eyozosha empire has an army of centaurs at their disposal. There were some nobles who tried to have some, but in the end, they sold them to the royal family or wealthy merchants.

If they manage to capture the centaurs it would be great for the Aldcrest fiefdom, not that the fiefdom was in need of money, but it's always nice to have some extra income.

After knowing the reason Jake continues to lead the troops to rescue his fiancée.

When Jake arrived at his destination, he was surprised to find the royal army on the place and the soldiers who normally accompany him dead. Faced with such a scenario, Jake asked the commander of the royal army what was going on.

"What's going on here? Why are my men dead? And more importantly, where is the princess?"

"Arrest this man he just claimed that the men who tried to kidnap the princess are under his command. It was the last evidence we needed."

At the command of the royal army commander the soldiers began to move to arrest Jake.

"Wait what's going on here I'm Jake Aldcrest lord of the Aldcrest fiefdom and Marquess of the Eyozosha Empire"

Faced with this sentence by Jake, the soldiers stopped and looked at their commander. When the commander saw this situation put a smile in his face and said with a smug expression.

"What happens here is that Mr. Marques tried to kidnap the second princess"

"And why would I do that?"

"Don't be naive, we already have proof that you are a vampire and intends transform the princess into one so that she will obey you as your familiar and then force her to transform the royal family so that you can rule the empire legitimately. Afterwards you just have to kill the crown prince. You might well give up your plan. Has already been discovered"

"I don't know where you went to get this theory, but I just have to prove that I'm not a vampire to prove my innocence, am I right?"

"Yes, you are right"

"Okay, then I will accompany you. Peter takes over the Aldcrest fiefdom until I returned"

"You don't need to worry brother"

"First of all, tell me where the princess is"

"The princess is in the royal palace, along with the royal family, or thinks we would bring her as lure"

Faced with this answer Jake breathes a sigh of relief because the princess is safe, but at the same time he is upset after all he is not a vampire, his most loyal men are dead and from the conversation he had with this commander whatever he does he will be in trouble.

After that, the soldiers move again to arrest Jake. He will be transported to the royal capital, where he will stand trial for his crimes. Jake did not resist his capture nor did he try to flee despite his strength. It wouldn't be this band of soldiers or the commander that would stop him, after all he was an experienced class swordsman.

When Jake arrived in the capital, he was immediately introduced to the king and the supreme court where he would be tried for his crimes. The crimes Jake was accused of were being a vampire, trying to kidnap the second princess, trying to turn the royal family into vampires to be his puppets, and trying to usurp the throne by killing the crown prince. The crimes would be tried in that order, as that is how they happened or would have happened if the royal family had not managed to put an end to them.
