Lazy Spaceship (1055 words)

Blearing alarms shake me awake from a slumber I do not remember having entered.

Still half asleep from my dreamless rest, I dizzily bring up the system log of my vessel.

The first thing on my list of things to check is the reason for the alarm.

'Hostile invasion?' Rummaging through my memories about any enemies that could be trying to invade my vessel I ultimately come up blank.

With no understanding of what is going on I simply went for an easy solution and pimp up my processing speed to an ungodly amount before calmly reading through the log backwards.

'*Whistle~*,1'534 years of inactivity. Well, looks like that space anomaly that seemed to have hit me has done quite a number on me.' I calmly continue to read up on my past while ignoring whatever it was that is invading my vessel.

I have set some sub-programs on getting me a report of the current situation, but different than me, they can't ramp up their processing speed to the same level as me, so I have enough time to go through this log before dealing with anything else.

And that I did.

'Well, from the looks of it I, an AI created by the Gargeg race and uploaded into an independent exploration ship, have become the victim of some sh*tty space-time fuckery that caused me to remain inactive for over one and a half millennia only to be awakened because of some puny invaders and realize that as soul from another reality has fused with me and completely altered my personality.'

Releasing a digital sigh into my system I quickly calm down as always and accept the situation in favor of not having to deal with an existential crisis.

With that problem sorted out I start to re-familiarize myself with all the functions of the ship and its programs while also creating a new folder for my new memories of another reality.

My identification as an AI had been "Hexagon", and now after my personality shift, I got worryingly lazy, so I shorten the name to simply "Hex".

Another thing that bothered me resolved; I finally shift my focus on the report trickling in form my sub-programs.

'Hmm? Lizard people? Sweet, they got space armor and look sick as fu*k. Why is it that space lizards are always so cool?' Musing to myself I continue to scan through the report.

'A lot of damage has been done to my vessel and the facilities located near the hull are heavily damaged. This means no guns, no shield, no scan and no idea of where the hell I am. Luckily this also means none of the ships hardware has been damaged including power generator and important facilities like the laboratories and research center.' This report caused me to greatly relax.

With but a thought I discreetly shut down all the tech located in the damaged part of the ship while also silently closing all doors near the location where the lizard people entered from.

Like this I buy some time for me to get things starting and keep those scaly vermin's from entering my system.

No longer in any immediate threat I place my focus on the workstations and laboratories.

Quickly calling up a couple of robot designs form my databank and sorting out the ones for which I don't have enough or the required resources for, I start to sort through the blueprints till I only had two left.

A P-076 Soldier Bot and HK#94 Construction Unit.

Both are cheap and outdated creations, but they are easy to build and don't require many resources.

With that in mind I que them up in all the facilities with automatic assembly lines to quickly get some means to defend myself form the lizards and rebuild myself.

It took around thirty minutes to finish one bot, meaning I got twelve working P-076's and three HK#94's in a mere half an hour.

In the time it took these bots to finish the lizards have scouted out most of the shutten off part of the ship and started to work on one of the closed blast doors that by the way are located almost every twenty meters throughout all of the ships hallways and in front of every single room.

So yeah, it would take them a while to get anywhere important or dangerous.

Other than that, I also created a virtual lobby in which I made an avatar for myself and store the more personal data.

Floating in zero gravity my virtual body lazily looks at the multiple video feeds throughout the ship.

My long white hair that turns bluish against the tips freely sways in a digital wind except for the small tail on the left side of my head where it gets hold together by a red hair band.

Wearing a black suit over a white blouse with red tie and a white coat while an office skirt and high stockings cover my legs, I lazily move around my stocking covered toes.

Observing everything with my electric yellow eyes I listen to some music taken out form my memory folder.

'I should set some of my processing power onto the creation of new music just in case.' Half lost in thoughts about random stuff concerning my entertainment and comfort I open up a passage for my rip off battle droids that will guide them to where the lizard people are advancing into the ship while making a small detour to the nearest armory.

As for the construction droids, I send them out of the nearest air dock into space.

Right now I'm practically blind so I need some eyes outside the ship and get information's about the invaders and their ship.

To be completely honest, Im not concerned in the least. From their performance till now those lizards are not that smart, they somehow got into space, but their suits are inefficient and crude.

Let alone being a threat, those guys took so long just to get through one of my doors, I kind of doubt that they are very advanced in the art of space travel.

As if to future cement my opinion I get a video feed form the construction bots that shows me the ship from which the lizards come from.
