A contract

"Madam, I promise you that this will never happen again."

Lisy said in a pleading tone without giving her boss time to finish her sentence.

"What are you talking about ?"

"My lateness today."

She replied embarrassed.

"No, it wasn't that I was about to tell you but don't let it happen again."

She said threateningly.

"That's understood madam. It won't happen itself again."

"Good, now let's get back to the point I called you , I need your help for a very important deal ."

"Anything you want ma'am."

"Since you've been in my company, you've proved to me that you deserve your place among us, because I only work with professionals and I'm really impressed and happy to have a very talented organiser by my side."

"Thank you madam ! "

"I'd like you to take charge of the organization of a wedding. And it's not just anyone's wedding, I admit we've had to organize weddings for rich people before but this time we're going to deal with a rich and influential couple from the capital. The success of this wedding would give us good publicity and perhaps boost your position in this company."

Lisy couldn't believe what she'd just heard, she was pleased and flattered that she'd been entrusted with organizing this wedding.

"You can count on me ma'am, I'll do all my best to make it amazing."

"Well, the wedding is in four months' time and you're going to meet them tomorrow to get to know them and find out what they want. Annalus will assist you with in everything and above all don't deceive me the company's reputation is in your hands now."

"I'll send you the meeting address by e-mail later I'm also waiting for confirmation of the meeting place."

Meanwhile, Rose was spying on them to find out why Mrs. Collins had asked to see Lisy in private.

Lisy said proudly.

"Wow I'm jealous ! "

Rose, angered by what she had just heard rushed to Lisy.

Rose declared in a hateful tone while all her other colleagues looked at her.

Then she walked out.

Lisy was shocked by Rose's words, she could feel that she really meant her last sentence " I hate you Lisy ! ".

"What is wrong with her ?"

Lisy asked Annalus.

"Don't pay any attention to her, you know Rose she always likes to be seen. Don't let her spoil your mood."

"Don't worry !"

"So how are we going to celebrate this good news. "

Annalus asks excitedly.

"I don't really plan on celebrating it. I have to rush home today to prepare a birthday dinner for Kim."

"Wish her a happy birthday for me and that I'll send her birthday's gift soon."

"Congratulations again my beautiful for this contract that Mrs Collins has entrusted to you."

Rose had really spoiled her mood.

It reminded her exactly of the scene when he had denigrated and belittled her like a slut.

She had always wondered what he had become and whether he was married and had children.

Later that evening 

"Mum !"

Kim shouted as she jumped into the arms her mother had opened for her.

"How was your day ? Did you girls get your ice cream ?"

"Yes, Mum let us have three different flavors of our choice."

April replied excitedly.

"We also played with the swing that was in the ice cream shop."

"I'm jealous of you girls. "

"Hello Lisy ! "

Said Mrs Peabody as she appeared in the living room.

"Good evening Susan ! How was your day ?"

"Rather pleasant on the whole and yours ?"

"I had a lovely day. I've come to pick Kim up we won't trouble you too much and thanks again ."

"You know very well that you don't bother me Lisy and Kim is a wise and obedient girl."

Lisy, Kim's only parent had done her best to bring up her daughter to be polite.

She punished her by making her understand why she had been punished and rewarded her when she did the right thing.

She could congratulate herself because her daughter was indeed intelligent and a quick learner.

"Say goodbye to April darling, we're leaving.

"Good night Kim ! "

"Bye, see you tomorrow !"

Lisy took her daughter's hand and they left after saying goodbye.

"I went shopping on my way home to make you a nice meal."

"Oh no ! I want pizza Mum."

Kim said pleadingly as they entered their apartment.

"Ok ok your desire is a command."

She replied, turning on the living room light.

"Thanks Mum you're the best !"

"Enough flattery ! Mum have something to celebrate too ?"

"What ?"

"Mum's in charge of organizing the wedding of a great gentleman and a great lady."

"Well done Mum !""

Kim shouted applauding.

She was delighted to see her daughter so proud of her. Everything she did and sacrificed was for her daughter's happiness. She was her greatest source of motivation.

What wouldn't she do for her?

She was the greatest gift life had given her.

"While waiting for the pizza man to deliver, we'll to take a bath. And I've brought back some tubs of ice cream so we can enjoy them in front of a nice cartoon. Is that okay for you ? "

"Yeeeees !"

A few minutes later...

Mother and daughter were in front of the TV sat on the only sofa in the living room, enjoying their ice creams and the peperonni pizza that the deliveryman had delivered a few minutes earlier.

"Cheers my darling !"

Lisy said as she lifted her ice cream-filled spoon into the air.

Her daughter imitated her, then they toasted with a laugh.

"I hope you enjoyed your birthday day, in the weekends we'll be going to the attraction park or the zoo's."

"You're the best mum in the world !"

"I know !"

Lisy said boastfully.

"Mum has to go to bed early today, I've got an important appointment tomorrow ."

"Okay Mum !"

Lisy was dreading her appointment a little. She didn't know if she'd have to deal with a demanding arrogant couple because that was what rich people did.

But at the same time, Lisy was excited to start the preparations, she had things to prove to herself and to Mrs Collins.

Unfortunately, Lisy had no idea that she was stepping into the lion's den when she was given responsibility for this contract.
