After avoiding security, Lucid made her way towards town on foot. Only now did she realize how far out Axel lived. She finally managed to flag down a taxi only a few miles out of the city.
Lucid handed the driver a wad of cash she found in her purse and left him stunned as she walked into her apartment complex. When she got to security, she struggled to find her key, so she just pulled out her phone and scanned it. She then walked with grace to the elevator and pushed for the 11th floor.
When she got to her apartment, she threw the suitcase to the ground and grunted. Why did he have to live so far away? Only then did she realize there was a tall slender shadow in the corner of her apartments entryway, watching her. Lucid acted on instinct, grabbing an umbrella next to the door, and charged towards the figure and pointed the end to the figures throat.
The figure laughed, and Lucid's grip on the umbrella slipped, as she recognized her best friend. She flipped on the light switch, and stared with admiration into her friends blue eyes. "Reasie!" Lucid called her friends nickname with excitement. "When did you get here?"
"Last night." She looked up and down observing Lucid's dress, until her gaze caught on the umbrella. "Hm, that umbrella seems pretty useful?" Her voice was cold, but it had a tint of adoration in it.
"I learned from the best." Lucid winked at her friend and traveled deeper into her apartment.
"What trouble have you found as of late?" Her friend looked down at Lucid and her shoulder length black hair moved into her eyes.
"Stole some diamonds?" Lucid smirked then grabbed her purse and sat herself on a chair. She then opened her purse to showcase a beautiful necklace and pair of earrings.
"One sec hun." Her friend then found her bag and pulled out her phone. Her fingers flew over the keyboard, until a smile grew over her sharp features. "Glitz is coming over tomorrow to inspect those." Lucid smiled. Glitz was one of the best jewelers in continent, but her works always came for a high price. Lucid walked over to her closet and placed the diamonds in a small safe. She then spun on her heels and looked devilishly at her best friend.
"And did you really do it?" Her best friend smiled but didn't say anything. "Come on Terra!" Terra chuckled, and her eyes became playful. She pulled down her silk pajama's sleeve to reveal a watch. Lucid jumped up and down. "Did you open it?"
"No I was waiting for you." Her smile became a smirk. Lucid's brown eyes became pleading. "Ok fine we'll open it up." Terra took the watch off her extremely thin wrist, and laid it our on the coffee table.
Lucid wrung her hands as her friend opened up the back of the watch with a mini screw driver. She thought back to all of the work they put in just to find this watch.

A young girl of 8 years staggered clumsily through a dark alley. Her feet were black with charcole, and her white hair was disheveled. She coughed and fell to her knees. She heard a shuffling behind her. Her eyes darted to a tall sickly slender figure standing nearby. She shivered, and scooted further into the shadows. The shadow came closer and bent down. The blue eyes of a 15 year old girl appeared. She looked the girl up and down, her eyes catching all of the bruises on her arms and legs. She smiled warmly, and stuck out her hand. The little girl flinched. "My names Terra" The white haired girl shivered, then stuck out her hand. "Mmm-Myy Na-Names Lucy" Terra pulled Lucy up and brushed the soot off her dress. "Nice to meet ya Luce."

He looked at her through the large window, not daring to talk to her. Her long sleeves were stained with paint, and her eyes were so angry, frustrated at her painting. She finally got so angry that she pushed the canvas over and crossed her arms. She started to talk to herself in such an adorable voice. Saying if only the the brush would behave, it would be the greatest painting in the world. He could never understand why she didn't like her own paintings. They were so beautiful. The girl regained her composure and righted the painting, then signed it with her little squiggle. He chuckled at her childish behavior. He wished he could talk to her and hear her soft voice that she used to talk to herself with. But no matter what, he would never be enough. He was just a worker here. And his work was done. If he was caught here on the grounds after his job was done, he would have to face the consequences.
The sky turned dark, and his melancholic dream turned into a nightmare. The large estate was burned to the ground, and no one was left. His face crumpled and he lost his footing. Everything around him disappeared, and the world turned dark.
Axel woke from his nightmare to the screaming of his alarm clock. He yawned and looked at the time, it was 8 o'clock. He wanted do dive back into sleep, but something caught his eye. I slip of paper was attached to his headboard by a plastic fork. He left it, thinking it may have been a joke from his brother. He got out of bed, and freshened up. When he came out of his room, a maid scuttled to his side. " Mr. Almentine!" Her lip quivered.
"What is it?" He asked coldly.
"Many items have gone missing from the house Sir." He froze. "And sir, The young lady you brought back last night is no longer here." Axel chuckled. He should have expected this. He told her to check security footage and waved the maid away then went back into his room. He looked around his room with a bored expression on his face until he remembered the note on his headboard. He walked towards it and read its contents. Ha. He then noticed the squiggle on the bottom on the paper.
