Opening his eyes suddenly, he remembered the series of notifications that sent him to this school three years ago.

From the orphanage he was in, to this place where he was chosen to train until he was suitable to undergo the hunter examination.

A harsh training every morning with fighting classes that you would at least break a bone.

Every person in this school went the same treatment he had received.

This school, with only humans allowed, trained people who weren't suitable to undergo the hunter examination.

These three years, they prepared their body and mentality suitable for their talent. And tomorrow was the day they awaken their talent.

Looking at the food in front of him, Sean lost interest in it soon after. Tomorrow, they didn't need to train and somehow he didn't have the the appetite at all.

If it was a normal day, he wouldn't have given up this food at all, if it was possible he would eat extra in order to fill his body. Food wasn't waste wherever one went, and he would grab any chance to eat but today was different.

He felt like he shouldn't eat it, and looking around he could also see some people leaving their food too. Other days, there wouldn't even be a grain of rice left in their plate and they would've eaten all their food but today was different.

Something felt off. They all could agree with this statement.

They knew the harsh reality. They knew how important this test was for them. They knew that stories about heroes and legends are false. There is nothing for them to rely on, nothing except their innate talent.

They didn't expect a high grade talent, they only expected one that could actually be something for them. Knowing that the system transported people here on the basis that they had talent and that it didn't look at the grade of their talent.

Whether it was low, medium, or high, it just transported them.

Praying wouldn't change anything, they knew that. Yet, they still prayed that they would have something good.

...

Walking through the corridor, he went outside where he saw the training field and also the armory. Further from that, it would be the barrier surrounding them. They hadn't gone further from that.

There was nothing to see, just a gray world where he could see everywhere. Colorless and without any flavor.

'It should be better for me to go and rest' this was his thought since the land didn't have any plan for them today. He had no foes nor any friends, no one that he could trust. He was a loner.

A lone wolf that did everything on his own. Within this power based world, unity wasn't necessary for a change.

Going to his dorm, he unlocked the door before going in. The room wasn't anything special. Just one bed, one table and a window that faced outside.

Lying down on his bed, he slowly went to sleep.

...

The next morning.

The people had already gathered in front of the building where they had to face the cold weather. Although the weather was cold, they didn't feel anything from it at all. From the hard training they have faced over the past 3 years, they had to train in such an environment all the time.

The crowd of one thousand trainees waited outside as the wind blew coldly.

One by one, they would go to the black circle where they would disappear and the following person also goes there and disappear.

Walking to there, it would be false if Sean said that he wasn't nervous. However, he could still keep his cool and appear calm on the outside.

After standing over at the black platform made out of stone, he felt his weight suddenly disappearing. Having entered an unusual place where he felt nothing, it wasn't long until he came to a brightly lit place.

It was a large mansion where people wearing luxurious clothes danced and talked to each other. Tables full of delicacies could be seen everywhere as this whole scene depicted a banquet made up of nobles. It seemed like they were happy, but he couldn't really know because of their blurry faces.

In the first few minutes it was okay but after a long time had passed, he began to feel something different. The scene of a lively banquet was still there but it was like the nobles were tired and seemed to want to stop. Although the music was still there, it made him feel stranger and stranger as time went on.

The nobles was still dancing but after some time, a person fell with a loud scream. After falling down, various ugly creatures emerged from the dark, devouring the man.

The man screamed in pain, but as if no one had noticed him, the nobles kept dancing and having fun, not paying any attention to him.

However, it didn't end with one person, the remaining nobles fell one by one and got devoured by the ugly creatures where in the end, no one remained.

After devouring everyone, all the creatures suddenly looked at Sean who was scared to his wits. All the creatures suddenly looking at him made him more scared.

Feeling his fear, the monsters seemed more excited as from their slow approach it became almost as if they were running.

Sean, who wanted to escape as soon as possible, couldn't control his body at all. It was as if it had been placed in stone. The more the monsters went close, the more he wanted to escape but he could do nothing.

In the end, he could only look at the monsters tearing out his guts and devouring his body helplessly.

After his consciousness blacked out, he heard a ding inside his mind.
