"Can... can I object?" Nancy stammered, daring not to look into Raymond's eyes.
"This lady doesn't know what's good for her; she's pushing her luck too far. Does she think the boss is so incredibly patient? Surely, she'll be kicked out now," William pondered.
"William!" Raymond suddenly called.
"As expected," William thought and moved forward to drag Nancy away when he suddenly felt a chilling gaze directed at him. Shocked, he looked at Raymond. "B... Boss."
"What do you think you are doing?"
"Bo... Boss, I... I thought you... you wanted me to dismiss her." Sweat trickled down William's forehead.
"Your salary has decrease tenfold!"
"B... Boss!" William was rooted to the spot in shock.
"Get out!" Raymond commanded.
"Ye... yes!" William ran away immediately.
What has he done for his salary to be cut tenfold? He's too scary. "Nancy thought to herself in confusion".
"I was only teasing you. I know this is fake," Raymond replied with a beautiful smile.
Nancy's eyes widened.
"What? Only old-fashioned people would fall for this outdated disguise of yours... it's too old," he chuckled.
Nancy's mouth fell slightly open. "What sharp eyes," she thought, and slowly she began peeling off the mask, revealing a beautiful, fair face. She opened her ocean-blue eyes, clear and full of life.
Raymond's eyes widened as he stared at Nancy's beautiful face. "Just too much beautiful," he remarked.
"Huh?"
"I'm praising your beauty; you are like an angel," Raymond chuckled, brushing his fingers against her cheek.
Nancy blushed, and a beautiful smile slowly appeared on her face. "He's really nice; marrying him wouldn't be so bad," she thought.
"Mrs. Rock, there's no need to hide your face anymore. Let's go and get our marriage certificate right away." Raymond smiled and carried Nancy horizontally as both of them left.
.....
In front of the bureau, Nancy held two red cards in her hands, her eyes glued to them, and her expression slightly complicated. "You really want to marry me?" she questioned.
"What? Do you want a grand wedding? Anything for my Mrs. Rock," Raymond replied, smiling as he lifted her up and took her inside his luxurious car. "High Mansion," he instructed the driver, and they drove away.
....
High Mansion...
Raymond still carried Nancy horizontally as he exited the car and carried her directly inside the mansion. Inside, a row of maids and guards dressed in white and black stood at attention. As they caught sight of Raymond and Nancy In his arms, they were shocked at first but they bowed immediately.
"Welcome back, young master!"
Raymond said nothing and walked over to a king-size chair, carefully sitting Nancy down. He knelt on one knee and gently helped her remove her sandals.
"What a warm man," Nancy thought, pressing her lips together, fighting to suppress a smile. Little did she know, all the maids and guards were exchanging shocked glances. She raised her head and noticed that the maids and guards were still bowing. "Um... their backs must be aching. Did you forget to tell them to rise?" she asked in her usual sweet, low voice.
This lady, does she know who she's talking to? She's definitely doomed now, "everyone thought".
Raymond smiled and stood up after replacing Nancy's sandals. "You may rise," his deep voice resonated.
Everyone was so taken aback that they didn't know how to react, exchanging bewildered looks. "Is this really the young master? He actually listen to this woman! Didn't he hate being instructed the most?". was the question written on their faces.
Raymond sat on the arm of the chair that Nancy sat on and held her hand. "Look at all these girls; they are maids. You can choose any of them to be your personal maid. If you want all of them, feel free," he stated.
Once again, everyone was left speechless, their mouths nearly hanging open in shock.
"Personal maid? Me?" Nancy stared at Raymond in disbelief.
Raymond nodded. "If you don't like any of them, I'll just fire them right away," he replied.
"Ah," Nancy gasped. "Firing them because of me, doesn't that mean that I will be responsible for them being fired?". She thought.
All the maids bore worried expressions.
"Young madame, my name is Rubby, and I am willing to serve you well," one maid immediately introduced herself.
"I'm Suzy. Young madam, I'm willing to serve you," another maid chimed in.
All the maids introduced themselves, and finally, one cheerful maid stepped forward. "Young madam, my name is Lori. I already love you and am eager to serve you!" she exclaimed with a bright smile.
Nancy looked at Lori. "She's so cheerful and lovely; I don't have any friends. Maybe she would be willing to be my friend," she thought and turned to Raymond.
"You want her?" Raymond asked.
Nancy nodded enthusiastically.
"From today onward, you will be responsible for the Young Madam's needs. If she lacks anything or you fail in your duties, then..."
"I understand, Young Master!" Lori bowed immediately. "I will definitely take care of the Young Madam with everything I have," she vowed.
Raymond nodded slightly and looked at the guards. "Collins!"
"Young Master!"
"Gabriel!"
"Young Master!"
"You both are responsible for the Young Madam's safety from now on. If anything happens to her, then consider yourselves dead."
"Yes, Young Master!"
Nancy opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but hesitated.
"Say whatever you want to say; don't hold back," Raymond encouraged, noticing Nancy's hesitation.
"I... I want to say they are also human. You don't have to threaten them," she replied.
"Young Madam is really bold," everyone thought.
"I'm not threatening them; I'm only reminding them. If anything really happens to you, not only will they suffer the consequences, but their families will also share in that fate." Raymond's tone turned cold.
He cares so much about me, "Nancy thought", but did he have to be so harsh? He looks scary, "she mused, slightly shaking".
Suddenly, Raymond let out a low chuckle. "My little wife is so easily frightened. Don't worry; I was only scaring them," he lied.
The maids: "Are you sure you're only scaring them?"
The guard: "Boss, do you have to use us as scapegoats to please your wife? What do you mean by scaring? You definitely meant it!"
Nancy looked at Raymond. "Really?"
"Really, I was just scaring them," Raymond smiled reassuringly and patted her head.
Nancy nodded and smiled. She glanced at the guards, who wore complicated expressions and cast Raymond suspicious glares.
Noticing her gaze, Raymond grinned. "Does my wife not believe me?"
"They look scared," she pointed out.
Raymond turned to Collins and Gabriel. "Are you scared?" he questioned, his gaze intense.
"No... no, Young Master," both of them stammered.
"See, they know I was just kidding," Raymond beamed.
Nancy nodded.
Raymond was about to speak more when suddenly his phone vibrated. He checked it and a light frown crossed his face. He stood up and looked at Nancy. "Take a good rest at home. I will come back early tonight," he told her, kissing her forehead affectionately.
Nancy's face flushed red with embarrassment, and she nodded, her head slightly lowered.
Raymond chuckled softly and left.
Right after Raymond departed, Nancy looked at everyone nervously. "What do I do now? Will they bully me? Are they angry because of Raymond's harshness toward them, and will they take out their anger on me?" she wondered. She dared not leave her spot and kept her head lowered, waiting to be bullied.
"Can... can I object?" Nancy stammered, daring not to look into Raymond's eyes.
"This lady doesn't know what's good for her; she's pushing her luck too far. Does she think the boss is so incredibly patient? Surely, she'll be kicked out now," William pondered.
