32) Teammates

Brian escorted Peter to a lower floor and when the elevator doors opened a large hallway came into view with many doors on either side. "While the competition is taking place you will reside in the first room on the right. Don't worry all your things have been collected and are waiting for you in your new room. Good luck" said Brian handing Peter a key before entering the elevator again and disappearing behind the closing doors.

Peter entered his room to see a nice cozy area with his bathroom. It wasn't as extravagant as the suite he stayed in the night before but this place was still way above what he could dream of. He had his own personal TV and the fridge and cupboards were already stacked with food and drinks. He entered his bedroom to see his luggage placed on the bed.

He took off his costume and wore some more comfortable clothes as his suit wasn't as comfy as he had hoped. Peter spent the next hour sorting out all of his stuff and placing them where they needed to be with a photo of his Aunt May and Uncle Ben on his bedside table.

"I believe we've given everyone enough time to settle in their rooms now, I hope they are to your liking. Now that the easy stuff is out the way it's time we give you something more fun to do. I would like everyone to come down to the training room on floor 16 for around 15 minutes where you will be given your first set of instructions" Capt spoke over the intercom. 

Peter got dressed back into his suit and left his room to be greeted by Quicksilver. "Hey, how'd it go" he asked.

"I think it went well" replied Peter. 

"Nice bro," said Quicksilver while walking to the elevator with Peter.

"What about you?" questioned Peter. 

"It went very well, I think they like me" responded Quicksilver as the doors shut. 

"Did you get to meet the other three?" asked Peter.

"I was right after you so I only got to meet 3D-Man but he is into some weird stuff. He thinks he got kidnapped by aliens and experimented on so they could invade the planet. Besides that he's alright." replied Quicksilver.

"So, were you born in America? You have an accent so I was just curious." asked Peter.

"No, I was born In Russia and lived in Kazan, and due to certain circumstances I ended up meeting Capt and he introduced me to a nice family and helped me with my powers here in America," replied Quicksilver.

The doors opened and they walked into the room that had a large fighting ring in the middle with loads of different gym equipment all over. It even had a large arsenal of weapons on a rack in a far corner along with a water fountain.

"Woah, sweet," said Quicksilver appearing in front of Peter with a samurai sword while swinging it. "Cool," he added as Peter watched.

"This is pretty cool" replied Peter looking around the room. 

"It is. We have the best training equipment in the world and while you're here you can use it anytime," said Capt as he walked out from a room towards the side. 

"Can I keep this?" asked Quicksilver while playing around with the sword. 

"I'm afraid not unless you join the team of course" replied Capt. 

Around ten minutes passed and more and more people entered until everyone arrived.

"Looks like everyone is here, let's get started there," said Capt as he walked towards the front of everyone before commanding "EVERYONE GET IN LINE" to which everyone complied. 

Peter noticed the three people people he missed. One was standing at 7 feet, large and bulky. He was built like a bear with his large amount of muscles which was more apparent when he crossed his arms. He didn't wear much in costume and just had a large pair of pants on with his chest almost on full display with his sleeveless leather jacket left open. He had a large beard and long hair for a man at least with what seemed like a constant angry face. 

Next was a black man more his height with a suit like his but with 2D shapes all over with a wide range of colors which was assumed to be a 3D man. He didn't have any other notable features. 

Next to him was a woman covered with baggy clothes with her long black hair flowing out of her hood. She dressed like an assassin from one of those Creed games but with a lot more black. She had a large utility belt and a knife strapped to her side. She was a lot more distant than the others and was noticeably away from the group.

"You have all been called here to receive your first task or should I say tasks. As you know if you've watched the show you know that some rounds are determined by the public and they vote for who they want to be eliminated. So to build up your respect by the community we have you fight crime to try and build up a fan audience and that isn't going to change this year. The next thing is that in 48 hours we will be holding 3 on 3 mock battles. We expect you to come up with plans and train with you're allocated and completely random teammates. The worst team will have one of their members eliminated from the competition so we expect you all to be at your best." stated Capt.

There were a couple of murmurs from all the candidates and Peter couldn't help but feel nervous about his teammates.

"Team A will be Quicksilver, Hawkeye, and 3D-Man. Team B will be Iceman, Shadow, and Spider-Man. Meaning that the people on Team C are Behemoth, Tigra, and Black Bolt. I will see you all in 48 Hours in here and I wish you all the best of luck" continued Capt before heading out in the elevator.
