New York City Centre.

"The Main Tower.

Night.

Wilson Fisk stood at the panoramic windows and contemplated the affairs going on in his empire. The ringleader of the underworld had come to power through hordes of enemies and a sea of blood. It was this that gave Wilson the power he needed to keep his rivals at bay. "It's too dangerous to fight Fisk," was the thought Ambal wished to plant in the mind of any potential enemy.

So far, it had worked.

After a protracted war with the Russians over control of territory, Wilson had managed to drive them far to the east. Since then, it's been quiet and his empire has been a huge revenue generator. The main thorn in his side was the Horned Enemy from Hell's Kitchen, who had interrupted another drug shipment a few weeks ago, but a plan was already underway to eliminate him.

Also of definite excitement was Tombstone. Wilson's loyal assistant, James Wesley, had warned his boss more than once that Lincoln should be civil to him, but Kingpin couldn't resist pointing out to the gangster that his territory and resources were bigger and the "gravedigger" should get used to number 2.

But so far, Thompson hadn't raised his head.

- Mr Fisk?

Kingpin turned round.

- 'James, and what news has my chief assistant arrived with?

- Things are going well, Mr Fisk. The territories are under control. The small units are doing their jobs and monitoring their points. Except that there is some tension on the Harlem border.

- Is our old friend Shieldbearer up to something? I think we should remind him that he's free to do whatever he wants on his own turf. There will be consequences for crossing the border.

- I'll take care of it right away," Wesley nodded.

- What about our friend Maxwell?

- Together with Grigov and his men they went to the main information centre, as you ordered.

- Excellent, his abilities may open up new markets of influence for us.

- I also remind you that next week is the grand opening of the Oscorp medical centres you sponsor.

- Yes, I remember, I can't wait.

- Mr Fisk," Waisley rubbed his neck uncomfortably, "we've been preparing for a long time for an event that could safely integrate you into the elite society of the city. At this rate, we'll be well on our way to the mayor's chair.

- I know what you mean, and I promise to be a good boy," Ambal grinned.

- Great. Ahem, Tinkerer got what you needed, he and Spencer Smythe are working on the Black Widow project.

- That's great. There's an insect that needs squashing. Chameleon?

- Waiting for your permission to enter the corridor.

- Great, let him in, I've got an important job for him.

Evening Patrol.

Spider-Man.

I still don't know if Fury's offer does me more harm or good.

I'm mostly a loner, like Prime Parker, and teamwork isn't for me. On the other hand, I'll agree to play Nicholas' super soldiers and get access to Shield goodies and information of all kinds.

Maybe even get a special access card?

But at this rate, I'd be signing up to be a bonded servant of a government organisation, and I don't want that. Then again, if I refuse, they might send the same squad I didn't want to join after my arse.

It's a wedge issue.

It sucks that super spy organisations can find out a secret identity before you even scratch your head.

Suddenly Spidey Sense kicked in, reacting to the silent alarm that sounded. Another improvement I've discovered. It turns out that because of the flair, my brain is able to respond to certain electromagnetic signals. Alarms of all sorts including.

I grab onto the ledge of a building and fly in the direction of the signal.

Turns out the source of the alarm is the city's central information centre.

What the hell is going on here?

Two massive jeeps, probably armoured, stopped in front of the building entrance.

I've seen them somewhere before.

I run a hand down my back and unhook the spiderbot. I've recently started attaching it to the back emblem, in the manner of a rucksack. The pins stick in a bit, but overall it's tolerable. This toy is good as a camera replacement, of course I waved goodbye to Bogle, but the photos can be offered to other publications.

I place the Spiderbot on the roof, setting up a terrific angle, and start the rig to take a shot with me in the frame.

Clinging to the building and jumping on the wall, I crawl into the room.

I can't see anything out of the ordinary.

Not a bad office, dozens of computers. Just an infocentre.

I crawl another dozen metres and notice movement at the end of the hall.

That's supposed to be where the server rooms are.

*

- Misha, fuckin' hell, I told you to be careful.

- Come on, Sanya, it's okay, Max turned off the cameras.

- Only because our manual freak cut off the power, your arseholes still haven't been filmed, - a loud voice screeched.

- Come on, Grigov. Max is a normal guy, why are you being so rude?

The older bandit didn't have time to answer, as a guy in a black suit, which was slightly sparkling with yellow light, levitated out of the server room.

- Good job Dillon, let's go," the oldest bandit squeaked out.

- Hey, I told you, when we're on the case, call me Electro!

- Yeah, yeah, we'll copy what the boss wants, and then you can call yourself the king of the screen!

"Looks like it's time to step in."

Grigov and Dillon entered the server room, but the two remaining criminals were thrown to the end of the room.

- Misha, Sasha, where are you idiots?

- I apologise, Misha and Sasha can't come to the phone, call back later.

Spider enters the server room, leaning on the wall.

- By the way, isn't the working day over?

- Spider-Man!

- Really? Where?! I've been wanting to get his autograph for a long time!

Grigov swiftly reaches for his gun in the inside pocket of his jacket, but the costumed hero abruptly fires a web, catching the bandit by the shoulder, throwing him into the wall.

- Okay, what do you think you are, a big luminary?

In response, the sparkling criminal fires an electrical charge.

Spidey, thanks to his amazing agility dodges.

"Which one!!! Why does my gut keep ringing?! I can see the enemy!"

- All right, Sparky, let's try to ground you! - In the rhythm of tiktonic, the hero shoots threads of different thicknesses at the enemy, which begin to envelope the enemy tightly.

- My name is Electro! - In a fit of rage, the villain begins to glow unbearably bright, burning a dense cocoon on his body.

Once released, Dillan doesn't calm down, but begins to release energy in strong streams.

"Not good."

For a while, Spider dodges and almost gets close to his opponent, but, at the last moment, Electro releases a powerful electrical charge that throws Spider away from the server room.

The hero's body smashes through the glass doors and is sealed into one of the standing jeeps.

- Ah,-kgh,-ooch - with a creak Stenolaz tries to get up.

- Looks like it's over, insect.

- Okay, baldy, let's go one last time, - the hero shoots the thread to the side, trying to snag the bench standing next to him.

But not even halfway through, the web burns up in the air.

- Think of something new, Mukholov.

Electro approaches the hero and starts stinging him with lightning bolts.

- AAAAAAAAAA!!!! - The spider is convulsing.

Maxwell thought that this was it, the moment when he would get universal glory by killing the pesky Wallbreaker.

- Dillan, hurry up, the cops are on their way, we gotta go," Grigov shouted. - Free the boys, they're in the fucking web!

- But I'm almost...

- There's no time! I'm in charge of the operation or you want trouble with Kingpin!

Heartbroken, Electro retreats.

Having levitated into the centre building, Dillan burns the web.

- Thanks, mate.

- Hurry up!

The sound of sirens causes the criminals to jump into the last surviving car and accelerate.

A minute later, five squad cars are on the scene. Three of them give chase after the fast moving vehicles, the remaining two park at the ruined entrance to the information centre.

- Omally, check the perimeter, Vance, take Billy and Rich, take a look around the building. Have the rookies fence off the area, what about....

- SHEF! - Officer Omally's shout interrupts the flow of orders.

- What is it, Fer?!

- Hurry up and look!

Officer Jonesom has seen a lot in his career, but he certainly didn't expect to see Spider-Man sealed into a transport, lying unconscious. Or...

- Is he alive?

- I didn't check," Omally replied shocked.

The Irishman was known in his shift for his undisguised admiration of masked heroes and for the idea of the police working with Spider-Man.

- We need to feel for a pulse.

Fer put his hand on the hero's neck. Meanwhile, the rest of the cops pulled up to the scene.

- Look, if we take off the mask, it'll be more comfortable, right? - said the fat cop.

- What?! No, Billy, you can't do that! - Fer got mad.

- Come on, Omally, just one look, - Officer Vance reached for the mask.

Before the Irishman could even say a word, the hero's sharply upturned hand intercepted the officer's reaching limb.

- Don't even...think about it," Spider wheezed under the shocked stares of the police officers.

The cop yanked his arm back sharply and Omally helped his idol up.

- Are you all right? - The Irishman asked quietly.

- I'll live.

- What happened here? - Senior Officer Jonesom entered the conversation.

- Criminals broke into the information centre. Russians. The guy in charge was called Grigov.

- He's a guy we know. Wait, they did that to you? - The cop was incredulous.

- There was a bloke with them with superpowers. He can control electricity.

- Great, that's all we need," Vance purses his lips in distaste.

- Don't worry, I'll take care of him. I'll just have to come to my senses for a while, - Spider said, holding his ribs.

- Sure you don't want to wait for an ambulance?

- No, thanks.

Jumping up on the wall, the hero starts, rather sluggishly, to run upwards, hiding from the eyes of the police.

"Damn, I didn't expect Electro to be so powerful."

Stopping, I rest my head against the tuning on the roof.

"Now what, weld a rubberised lining for the suit?"

I chuckle slightly at my own joke.

Okay, but seriously, I felt great, so why did my reaction fail me? Electro's energy streams may be powerful, but they're not that fast. And my gut...could it be reacting to potential danger from Dillan?

It's never done that before.

Could it be the mutation?

I'm getting to my feet. The pain's subsided a little.

I have to go back to Dr Crawford tomorrow, see if she can give me some answers.

I'm shooting out cobwebs.

Time to go home.

Africa. Savannah.

Sergei Kravinov.

The hunt. It's his life. Constant movement, striving to become better fuels his life. No firearms against animals, that's the coward's method.

At the moment, the heir to the Kravinov family was trudging through the low, gnarled grass, stalking his prey.

A lion. King of all beasts. All predators.

Pushing aside the thickets that obscured his view, the sneaking hunter saw him, resting after the hunt, sprawled on a rock and basking in the sun of the predator.

Calm. Not afraid of anything. At the top of the food chain.

How deceptive everything is.

Kravinoff leaps out and pounces on the unsuspecting predator.

Between the beast and the man, who fell to the ground, there is a scuffle on the loose soil.

Although the roar of the lion is heard, the true beast seems to be the hunter who has grabbed it by the mane. With inhuman strength and fortitude Sergei manages to lift the two hundred kilogramme predator above his head. Kravinov threw the beast, knocking it to the ground. While the animal was disorientated, the hunter grabbed it by the neck and began to deflect it.

A crunch-snap sounded.

Breathing out, Sergei looked at the defeated predator, as if he had not expected any other outcome.

Having weighed the carcass of the animal on his shoulders, the hunter went in a direction known only to him.

When Sergei reached a small settlement, children began to run out to meet Kravinov and loudly greet him, the hunter only smiled.

From the largest hut came a procession of three people. The two youngest took the carcass of the lion from Kravinov's hands.

- Cut and process the beast," the old man, who was the shaman of the settlement, ordered dryly, "follow me, hunter.

Sergey humbly followed the shaman.

Inside the hut several priestesses were waiting. One of them, without waiting for permission jumped up and, running up to Kravinov, kissed him.

- My love.

- Calypso.

- Daughter. Let the hunter be your husband, but don't you dare disregard our traditions, - the old man spoke threateningly.

- Forgive me, father," the girl bowed humbly, but did not stop looking at Sergei slyly.

- How was your hunt?

- Splendid. The potions you taught me to make gave me the necessary abilities. Strength, reaction, sense of smell, all of them sharpened, - answered Kravinoff in the language of the natives.

- Remarkable. You have passed your final test. The students are preparing the symbol. You can rest, my daughter will help you, - smirked the chief.

Sergei left the shaman's tent with his wife and went to his tent.

As soon as the tarpaulin flaps were closed behind the couple, the man and the woman were seized by passion.

Calypso leapt onto Kravinoff, penetrating his mouth with a kiss. The man lifted his wife, keeping his hands under her hips. The African woman wrapped her legs around her husband's waist.

Reaching the family bed, the hunter threw the woman onto the soft featherbeds, beginning to discard her clothes. Calypso watched him, biting her lip and beginning to lightly play with herself through the thin loincloth.

Finished with the stronghold of human culture, the completely naked Kravinoff grabbed the woman by the ankle and pulled her to him.

In response, his wife only moaned.

Spreading Calypso's legs, Sergei began to remove her underwear, while the woman got rid of her outerwear.

Now both spouses were completely naked.

The hunter grabbed his wife by the throat and sank passionately into her lips. Groaning, Calypso took her husband's cock, which was on alert, and began to thrust it.

Now Kravinoff's throat, too, gave a wrenching growl. Biting his wife's lip, he broke the kiss and moved to her neck.

Finished, the man pressed the woman's body against the bed with the palm of his hand.

Spreading Calypso's legs apart, Sergei entered his wife's vagina, oozing with the juice of readiness.

The room was filled with loud female moans.

Kravinoff made sharp short thrusts without leaving his wife's pussy. Calypso, in time with his movements, played with her nipples and massaged her clit.

Coming out of his wife, Sergei turned the African woman over on her stomach and took her from behind. With one hand the hunter gathered her long dark hair into a bundle, pulling her head back towards him, and with the other he placed his index and middle fingers into Calypso's mouth, which she sucked meekly.

After a while, with a womb-like growl, Kravinoff poured himself inside his wife.

The couple lay on the featherbeds. Calypso ran her fingers over the man's chest while he absent-mindedly ran his fingers through her dark curls.

- You were beautiful, my hunter.

- As were you, my love.

- I had a vision," the woman began tensely.

- Was it something serious? - Sergei stopped tousling his wife's hair.

- I saw what you've been looking for for so long. Your greatest triumph, your adversary, your prey.

- Speak, - Kravinoff was excited.

- He is waiting for you in the stone jungle of New York and his name is, Spider.

- The Spider. Prey, - Hunter began to dress, - we leave for America in three days.

Kravinoff left the tent. He needed to talk to his father-in-law.
