"And that's what happened, queen" - said Shaiapouf while kneeling in front of the huge ant.
"I understand, it's interesting that they found that creature" - said Queen Ant Chimera as she started to think - "But the situation is serious, now he knows that we are in the area and that we are potentially dangerous."
"What shall we do now, my queen?" - Shaiapouf asked as he looked carefully at the leader of his colony.
"Nothing, we can only create escape routes in case he finds us" - replied the Queen as she frowned - "And pray that it's not until the King has been born"
Shaiapouf was not very happy with the idea, but there was nothing he could do.
That Cloud would defeat Neferpitou so easily was worrying because she was just as strong as he was, and much stronger than the Queen who was just putting all her effort into bringing more soldiers into the world.
"I understand, I will order our soldiers to start creating an escape route, possibly we will do it from your room, my Queen, that way we will make sure that you will be the first to escape" - Shaiapouf said seriously as he looked at his sovereign.
"I have no problem with your arrangements, by the way, those humans they brought, they were delightful and full of vitality, they were very different from the others" - said the Queen while squinting her eyes - "Have they discovered the reason?"
"Neferpitou is going through the memories of one of those humans, in search of the answer" - Shaiapouf answered as he bowed his head - "I am sure she will inform you about the situation when she is done"
"I expect good news, as well as a plan to be able to capture more of those humans" - said the Queen as she continued to savor the remains of the humans she had consumed - "With them, I will be able to bring the King into the world, much faster than budgeted"
"That is good news, my Queen!" - Shaiapouf exclaimed excitedly, only to calm down as he noticed how the queen was looking at him curiously - "Sorry for my overreaction"
"No, I understand that you are happy, after all, the King is your destiny" - said the Chimera Ant Queen calmly as she closed her eyes for a few seconds.
Shaiapouf watched as his sovereign began to rest, and quietly withdrew.
"Where's the other idiot?" - Shaiapouf asked as he squinted his eyes.
"I have no idea, I don't care either" - replied Neferpitou as she appeared in front of her companion [Royal Guard], and the "person" they were talking to, was none other than her other brother - "I just came to give my report to the Queen."
"She is resting after eating those strange humans" - Shaiapouf replied as he folded his arms - "If you want, you can report to me first and I will give the information to her"
Neferpitou gave a neutral look to her brother because it wasn't the first time something like this happened.
They, as [Royal Guards], had enormous loyalty for the Queen and the future King, but Shaiapouf was an extreme case to this. He always sought to be recognized by the Queen, which is why he had taken the position as the one responsible for communicating to her everything that was going on with the colony.
"Aren't you going to talk?" - Shaiapouf asked as he frowned, only to freeze when he felt everything around him distort slightly. He looked in panic at Neferpitou, who was only smiling happily at how his experiment had turned out to be a success - "What was that? Wait, this feeling is a bit familiar, did you even find a way to use this strange energy inside us?"
"Nen, the willpower that all intelligent living beings possess" - Neferpitou replied while changing the color of her eyes thanks to the aura - "An interesting discovery that will strengthen the colony"
"I require more information" - said Shaiapouf excitedly because with this "Nen", the chances of capturing that monster and delivering it to the Queen, were much higher.
"I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but it's impossible" - said Neferpitou seriously - "You haven't been in the presence of that thing, enough to know how dangerous it is."
"You survived, so it can't be that bad" - replied Shaiapouf as he folded his arms.
"Yes, I survived, but it wasn't because I managed to escape, it was because something strange happened" - replied Neferpitou while frowning as she remembered the scene how the huge beast in the sky, was roaring furiously and shouting at someone.
Shaiapouf was silent for a few seconds before shaking his head and snorting disdainfully - "Let's better leave that for another time, and concentrate on what's important, tell me what you found out?"
"Let's wait until all the commanders are gathered because I don't like to repeat what I say" - Neferpitou said as she withdrew, after all, she had come only to inform her brother about this.
Shaiapouf frowned for a few seconds before following his older sister, after all, there wasn't much more he could do about it.
* * * * *
"Thank you so much!" - The villagers said as they saw how they had finally reached a safe place, or at least much safer than their village was, though that didn't mean everyone was happy.
Many families were crying over the loss of their older relatives while others were just melancholy because they would have to start all over again.
Cloud was watching this silently as he shook his head and began to think about how no one had heard the commotion he had caused from a distance.
His roars would have to have been heard, but none of the villagers knew what he was talking about after asking them, even Ponzu, who honestly didn't want to talk to him, was confused of his words.
This made Cloud come to a conclusion, and it was that the world did not want him to get other allies, and why did he think this?
The reason was simple, because if they heard him roar fiercely, it could create the illusion that he was furious about the death of his comrades, this would make his acceptance much greater with the hunters, but since this didn't happen, it was obvious that Ponzu would give a different and possibly worse version of the situation, although it wasn't as if he really cared much.
Cloud knew that Netero wouldn't be swayed by Ponzu's words, but that didn't mean that the [Hunters Association], wouldn't be slightly more hostile simply because he wasn't human. This would possibly also bring repercussions to the hybrids between [Magical Beasts] and Humans, weakening the [Association] in the process because part of the high groups, were part of this "select" group.
"As one would expect from the [Dimension Will], when they move, they move ruthlessly" - Cloud said sarcastically as he looked up at the slowly darkening sky.
Cloud slowly got up and walked towards his resting area, after all, he had a lot of things to think about, and he didn't want anyone to see him for a few moments.
His place was away from Ponzu's room for obvious reasons, though this he did more out of respect, than out of pity for not saving the girl's "boyfriend".
"If my hunch is true, then that woman's son, transformed into the man with wings" - Cloud muttered as he began to write his thoughts on a sheet - "That leaves us with two possible answers, one, that the creature that escaped from the experimental zone, is one that has the ability to mutate its prey to serve it, which is possibly stupidity, and the second option, is that the unknown creature devoured its prey and transformed them into those things."
Cloud had more or less an idea of what creature he was dealing with, and if his deduction was correct, then things were extremely bad for the humanity of this world.
He quickly walked over to a shelf full of books, and picked up one on Entomology, the study of Insects, only to frown at how this one had no information on the species he was looking for.
"Maybe I should look in another category?" - Cloud asked as he thought for a few seconds before picking up a book on potentially dangerous creatures, but again he found nothing, so he picked up a book on conspiracies or possible problems resulting from wild ideas such as if "X" species mutated.
Cloud started reading silently, not caring about the person who seemed to be spying on him from the window, which honestly wasn't doing a very good job because he could see her strange round hat.
"it's not here either" - Cloud muttered as he frowned and started to glance at another book, only to snort with disdain when he saw how it was a tricked out book, one whose content was very different from what its cover mentioned - "You can tell that the last person who used this room, was alone and a long time book to read this kind of crap."
Cloud quickly threw the book aside and continued searching for information about the possible species they were facing, only for after 30 minutes of reading, he could finally find what he was looking for, all in a book of extremely rare creatures.
"Here it is" - Cloud said with a small smile as he thought carefully - "Chimera Ants."
