Chapter-49<*breaking the limit*>

Cloud was once again dancing on the battlefield while dodging the 6 zombies around him.

A large amount of sweat ran down his forehead as he continued to attack and dodge as best he could. The 35 zombies, now there were only 10, although every time he killed one, another appeared to try to cover the free spot.

The boy's breathing was a little fast as he watched as his gun was now out of ammunition-"Tch"

He quickly threw his sword at one of the zombies as he backed away at high speed to reload his weapon. This action had been repeated at least 3 times because the zombies seemed endless, although he had to admit that this was beneficial. The barrier was about to break after fighting non-stop for at least 30 minutes.

His legs were a bit tired after taking so many steps but he continued to move regardless of the situation.

Quickly, Cloud ran towards his sword as he dodged the zombies' bites and grab attempts.

l"Go!" The blonde roared as he annihilated the zombie and retrieved the sword from him. "It's time for Round 4..."

He had lost track of time, though if he looked around, he would notice that at least half of the men in the group had disappeared. Yuriko had told them not to get in the middle of Cloud's battle but that didn't mean they had forgotten about the survivors. That group disappeared, they were walking in the direction where the human sounds came from while the other half was in charge of making sure that nothing strange happened, burning the corpses so that the infection does not spread or they were simply resting after this hard battle.

"Just…a little more…" the blonde said as he breathed raggedly. He could see the zombies once again heading in his direction- "One more... little... push..."

Cloud again dodged the zombie's attack but to his surprise, another attack came right after it. It was as if the zombies had gotten smarter or someone was just trying to make his life a little more complicated.

"Probably the second…" the blonde muttered. He understood that things would be a lot easier with Yuriko by his side, so the world must have gotten a little harder for him to balance things out a bit. The normal people of the world of Highschool of the Dead would continue as usual but the situations involving him would be more complicated.

"Take this!" The blond roared as he ripped another zombie in half, leaving only 8 'alive'.

[Two-Handed Sword Mastery, leveled up][Current Level 10]

"Finally!" The blonde sighed excitedly. He finally felt his body relax slightly but quickly his expression changed as he noticed how the zombies seemed to have become more savage with his attacks- "Shit!"

Cloud quickly backed away as he fired at the heads of the zombies, who didn't seem to care in the least that their foreheads were pierced by bullets—"What the fuck?!"

Cloud's pupils contracted when they saw how the zombies seemed unfazed when the bullets penetrated their foreheads, in fact it seemed as if they were stimulants because the zombies were much more violent.

"Weird…" Yuriko said with a frown but her expression changed when she saw how the zombies began to act erratically. They couldn't compare to how they acted before - "What's going on?!"

"Those things are mutating?! How come those shots don't affect them!?" Rika couldn't believe what she was seeing either. If those things weren't killed by a shot to the forehead, then the group's tactical advantage would be completely lost - "Wait a second... how come only those 8 are the only ones that have 'mutated'?"

"Natural choice?" -said Saya as she began to think about the situation-"No... it would be too much of a coincidence if only those 8 remaining mutated in this way..."

"We don't have much information…"- Rika said seriously- "It's better that we intervene. I think he already had more than enough time to be able to break his barrier"

"I think it's better if we let him continue"-Shizuka said as he tilted his head.

". . ." -everyone gave the woman a surprised look but she seemed unfazed-"Just look at him, he doesn't seem like he's given up or is very worried"

The girls looked up and were surprised to see that far from being scared or erratic, Cloud had a serious, almost neutral expression on his face.

"As his girlfriend, I'm going to trust him" -Shizuka said seriously-"If he thinks he can still handle his situation, I'm not going to intervene even if it's possible... although that doesn't mean I won't." be worried about him"

". . ." Rika fell silent as she heard the blonde's words as she looked at the boy. Now she was jealous of how much Shizuka thought about her boyfriend.

[ Fail: Failing to complete the mission, failing to overcome a critical situation in either of the two nearby worlds (The higher the risk, the higher the reward)]

[Reward: Skill Level Max Ability increased by 5 (Lvl Max 10->15). Only applicable to Normal Rank Skill]

[Optional Reward: Depending on the Number of Critical Situations, the basic reward can be increased by +1 (Final Result depends on the number of situations and the danger)]

[Punishment: Highest Stat will be reduced by 10% and the lowest will be reduced by 5%]

". . ." - Cloud just clenched his teeth as he watched the zombies get closer and closer - "Fuck it!"

Cloud took his sword firmly as he got into a fighting stance. His hands were sweating because not only were the zombies more violent, but also his strength had increased- "If I can't kill them with a shot to the forehead... then I'll use my stun gun and kill them with my sword." ..."

Cloud again began to move around the zombies as they tried to give him a lethal bite. His movements were getting faster and more precise as he shot at the limbs that came closer to his person. That was his plan, to deflect the zombies' attacks with his bullets while he annihilated them one by one and when he ran out of bullets, back up as fast as possible to reload and repeat.

The minutes passed and the fatigue became more and more apparent in the blonde but he kept moving. There were only two zombies left but they were much stronger than before. Each of them had 4.5 times the strength of a normal human, far surpassing the blonde who only had a little over 3 times.

"Just a little more..." - Cloud muttered as he watched the zombie lunge at him with everything - "Tch! The only advantage of all this is that those things aren't as fast..."

Cloud quickly moved to the side but to his surprise, the second zombie was right behind the first and was heading in his direction.

"Kuh..."-Cloud could only fall to the ground when he was tackled by his enemy but in a quick movement, he managed to penetrate the zombie's chest-"Now get away, damn it!"

"ROAR!" - The zombie was just trying to get closer with his jaw open to be able to bite him, but the blonde wasn't making it easy for him.

"You want a bite?! Then eat lead, you bastard!" The blonde roared as he scrambled his hand and pointed his gun. "I hope this is more than enough to send you to hell, you son of a bitch."

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

Three bullets were fired at full speed at the zombie, who could only back up a little, more than enough time for the blond to pull his sword from his body and give him a precise cut on the throat.

". . ." -The blonde could only breathe heavily when he saw that the zombie had fallen to the ground but before he could get to rest, he heard the sound of the other zombie's roar that he had forgotten-"Shit!"

Cloud's pupils contracted when they saw how the zombie was only inches away, so he did his best. When he saw that the zombie was about to bite him, he used his sword to block the beast's teeth- "Damn!"

"Uh!" -The zombie just brought his cold hands closer to the blonde, who was being physically outmatched despite the fact that he was using both of his arms to stop his opponent from advancing.

"Die at once, you bastard!" The blonde roared as he carefully moved his sword and in the process, cut the zombie's mouth.

"ROAR!" -the zombie seemed not to care, he continued trying to finish his prey.

"All or nothing, you son of a bitch!" Cloud yelled as he made a quick cut so he could free one of his hands. "If one bullet isn't enough! Then I'll put two in you! If two don't work, then I'll put the whole cartridge in!"

*Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!��Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!*

The zombie quickly recoiled from the impact of the bullets as the rest of his head exploded from the sheer number of shots he had taken.

"Fuck!" The blond roared as he fell to the ground on his back when he saw that everything was over. He was completely exhausted and could barely keep his eyes open.
