Meanwhile, the DeMont sisters were laughing away with Liam. They were walking around the estate, admiring the artistic design and poking fun at each other.
If Liam didn't know any better, he could have sworn Alex was flirting with him.
They enjoyed each others company and forgot about Helena completely.
The time for departure came and as the two ladies bid goodbye to their sexy new man, Liam gifted Dixie a beautiful ring. It was made of gold and had an emerald jewel sitting on top of it. He told her to always wear it as a token of their friendship and kissed her hand.
Dixie forgot herself as she stood on her toes to plant a kiss on Liam's cheek. The man blushed furiously and covered his mouth.
Bonnie chuckled and gave him a playful punch on the arm.
Then he was gone. Hopping back to his carriage like a little boy who was given a tasty treat.
Bonnie teased Dixie about the kiss as they headed back inside. Dixie was feeling very lovestruck. Although she had only intended to gain Liam's approval in order to turn him into an ally, she had to admit that he was a very appealing man who turned her on.
Besides, she was in her mid-20's and would have been focused on finding a man and settling down if not for other pressing concerns. Liam had brought out a desire in her. She was tempted to simply forget about her problems and indulge in him.
Which she did.
Weeks passed and she exchanged love letters with her new boo. Liam assured her that if her engagement to the prince ever fell apart, he would propose in an instant. She had actually rolled around in bed and squealed like a pig when she heard that.
On the other hand, the servants had slowly begun to wane in their animosity towards her. Given how much time she was spending with Alex, they realized that Lady Felicia was no longer a doormat.
The Duke no longer looked at Felicia with hatred and would occasionally engage with her during meal times. His tone was still cold, though.
It was a work in progress.
Helena was not managing her jealousy well. She couldn't pull any stunts with Felicia because Alex was always with her. Bonnie and Dixie were aware of her scheme, so they never strayed away from each other.
Tyren had confronted Alex, asking him why he was spending so much time with Felicia and neglecting Helena feelings. Bonnie smartly replied that Felicia was locked in the annex for 4 years, so they had a lot of catching up to do. He also emphasized that they were siblings by blood and their late mother would be upset to not see them spending time together.
Supporting one another.
Tyren had stormed out furiously at the mention of Moniqua and that was the end of that discussion.
Helena would look away anytime she made eye contact with Felicia, but Dixie could see the murderous intent. The brat's jealousy was driving her to madness.
All in all, things were peaceful.
Finally, came the day for the Crown Prince to visit his intended queen.
