"Lord...You have my soul"

BACK STORY

In every chain, a cryptic weakness lurks. Gath Gregor is that weakness found within harbouring sinister intentions that could destroy the peace of almost a century and an unknown reason for revenge. He believes that Luminara is hiding a great deal of power from the world. He had only read about it in the stolen scrolls his spies got from the secret library of the palace in Luna citadel. It only gave a brief explanation but he knew it's potential.

"X we move on to phase two of the plan." Gath said to his spy who nods his head in response and turned to leave. " I will end your sorrow." Gath looked at the photo beside him with a heavy sigh.

"Sir! The staff is ready." X reported. "When will the secret meeting be held?" Gath asked. "Tomorrow afternoon at exactly 2pm,sir." X replied. "We start preparations tonight. Get them ready." Gath commanded. "Yes sir!"

At the national meeting

Millitary officials, government leaders including secret service heads and advisers where present at this secret meeting, all where seated at a round table. Gregor Gath was among them as a government official pertaining the north. The president was the last to enter with mighty steps and a sense of pride. When he walked all where made to stand up and when he sat down they all sat down after him. 

"What is on the agenda?" The president asked in a stoic manner. A government official of the south began, "Mr president, our economy is falling apart drastically because of poor planning. Agricultural techs that works in the field needs sustainance and the number of chargers they need alone is more than the budget provided, the exposed channel of water from Veridia can easily let in an enemy and some of our people has been escaping to Veridia. At the south the people has started to rebel due to lack of food, Maybe we could stop some new projects to save money, like the soul-" 

"Don't you dare suggest that we put the soul project on hold!" A commander in the army roared at him cutting him short. "You know it's the biggest project that sucks up almost all our resources!" The government official retaliated back. "We lack millitary arms. Forget that we have been at peace with the other nations for almost a century. When the war ended 100 years ago it left a harrowing aftermath on Aurum because our numbers greatly decreased even with our advanced technology and now our civilisation can easily be outnumbered by even the smallest village in Veridia. How can u suggest we put it on hold. Mr president I humbly suggest that we do not put the project on hold. What if other nations were to attack!" The commander gave his input on the matter. He was well aware of the country's stats but his main focus was the country's millitary forces.

The president closed his eyes to think before opening them. He stared at each one of them for a while and began to speak in a calm manner, "I understand commander and governor. I have seen the stats. But for the country's sake, the soul project will be on hold, we cannot afford the people going against us right now. Not in our fragile state. Take some men to build a dam at the channel and I will personally set up a campaigne to pacify the people." The governor thanked the president and gave a triumphant smile at the commander. To his disappointment, the commander looked away.

"Anymore problems?" The president asked. Gath felt that it was his time to speak. "Yes sir, word has come to me that Luminara is building a super weapon and it is planning on attacking Aurum due to our defenseless state." After he said that all eyes were wide opened at him. A war was something each nation desperately wants to avoid and Aurum was the most desperate.

"How did u get this information?" The general asked looking at Gath with a suspicious glint in his eyes. "To be honest I had spies sent over to report anything that could affect Aurum. I am only doing what is best for my country." Gath stood his ground justifying what he had done.

 "It is not within your position to make that decision. Leave such matters to us in the millitary and the secret service. Darkness befalls those who wonder beyond their reach, the shadows may consume the misplaced." The general spoke with certainty as he glared at Gath.

"Yet how will you know what lurks within the shadows without shining a light into the darkness? You never know what might bite you." Gath countered and glared back. 

The president spoke interrupting their intense stare. "Governor Gath do not overstep your boundaries. You may have had good intentions but your job is to oversee the affairs concerning the north, are there any conspiracies going on that could harm us even if we are stranded now we can still stand on our own two feet. Now do you have anything to report concerning the north?" The president was mild but firm. They cannot get panicked, not in a time like now.

Gath on the other hand knew they wouldn't take the bait so he had other plans.

A young soldier barged into their meeting room in a panick. He was serving directly under the major general who was currently present in the room. He took deep breaths and gulped. "We've received urgent news from our spies indicating that Luminara is plotting an imminent attack on Aure!" When he said that everyone began panicking. The president remained silent and the young soldier used this as an opportunity to take a quick glance at Gath and Gath looked away from him with a subtle smirk.

"How can this be? Could what the Governor had said be true? But we are not prepared for war." They all began to murmur but still the president remained calm.

He loudly cleared his throat to get their attention. "Do not be panicked by a mere word. I will use my resources to get to the bottom of this. We have to be critically sure that Luminara is coming at us with war in mind. There shall be no need for the spilling of innocent blood over a rumour." He said firmly. Everyone calmed down because the presidents resources are the best trustworthy source. Gath also new the president was going to look into it himself but he also had a plan for that. He went closer to the president to speak to him in private but the president refused and asked that he spoke for others to hear which Gath agreed. 

He kept the staff in front of him and as he spoke the staff threw an invisible light ray into the eyes of the president and it began hypnotising the president. "Mr president I am well aware of how good your sources are but this is a matter of urgency we need to act now if we ever want to succeed. Their super weapon is still in progress, we should strike now when they haven't completed their weapon." Every word he said echoed in the presidents ears and slowly he began to flow into a trance and finally he was compelled to do as Gath suggested.

"We will go with Gath's idea. Preparations for war starts now!" He ordered causing everyone to be perplexed by his change in behaviour."But sir what about our numbers?" One of them asked. "We will release the TTE( Tech Titan Exogaurd )suits that way each of our men will have more stealth, agility, speed and strenght." He responded. "We cannot make that many in time sir and they are still under test!" The secret service leader said in an urgent tone. "Make them!" The president roared and slammed the table before standing up to leave. "I want reports of atleast 500 TTE suits ready for battle in 3 weeks. You are all dismissed." And with that he left.

All the officials present looked at Gath with suspicion in their eyes. The way the president behaved earlier was unlike him. Gath knew what they were thinking about him but he was less concerned about them. Walking out of the secret room, Gath pulled the Commander to a secret corner. "I am with you, if you are truly determined about securing our stand in warfare then i am ready to provide everything you need to fulfill it." Gath told him of his support. The commander wasn't willing to accept Gath's help. He was suspicious afterall. "Why are you doing this?" The general asked. "For the same reason as you. I want to strengthen our millitary forces but I need help to accomplish that. I have the capital to continue test on soul project, are you with me or not?" Gath extended his hand for a handshake to seal the deal. The commander was still suspicious but he shook his hand just so he could use his capital. 

Preparations for war and the secret project began swiftly. Soldiers underwent rigorous and meticulous training, where every move, decision, and response was scrutinized with unparalleled precision. Their training regimen was marked by intense drills, simulated scenarios, and exhaustive exercises with the TTE suits leaving no room for error or complacency.

In about two months Aure launched a suprised attack on Luminara. With no plan on a counter, Luminara retaliated back with an all out attack sparing too many rooms for an opening.

Bullets blazing in the air and the atmospher was filled with gunpowder and metal. The battle field was a symphony of devastating chaos in harmony with battle cries. Bombs blowing up everything it comes in contact with. Each step you take is a step on your comrades dispersed flesh and bones. The sight alone was gruesome and horrifying enough to weaken your determination and haunt you forever.

Aure placed light beam machines in the front lines along with using the TTE suits soldiers to lessen the enemies numbers as much as possible but it didn't last for long. Luminara launched giant rocket like arrows from above crushing those light beams and many TTE suits soldiers, using their high walls to their advantage.

After months of thug of war to infiltrate the capital of Luminara, Aure found an opening into the country's capital. This was a big victory for Aure but the battle wasn't over yet. Their mini victory was immediately reported back to HQ located at the south and Gath was also present there as well, he smirked villainously at the chaos unfolding before him. But he too also knew that battle had not ended.

It took another week before the president decided to put the soul project back on hoping it would preserve their numbers. But that plan was far too late as they saw an inferno beam blasted into the sky.

The battlefield fell into an eerie monotony, a haunting calm that echoed nothing but the buzz of the inferno beam coming from the centre of Luminara. Even HQ couldn't beleive their eyes. Defeat and fear dawned on them and they all knew that there was no mercy.

Gath recognised the inferno beam and desperately tried fleeing to escape the upcoming disaster.

Soldiers slummed to the ground on their knees at the might of the power radiated from that monster.

A soldier's last words before annihilation was, "Lord..you have my soul." And with that nothing could be seen or heard. The screams were eaten up by swift ravaging fires that covered the land of Aure. *BOOM!!!!!*. The explosion flew deep into the sky painting the sky red.

Everything was lost or so it seems.
