----------------------------------------------------------------
"This is inconvenient" Oscar silently debated within himself. However, due to the difference in their positions, he could only explain vaguely:
"Eight-petal Immortal Orchid has mild medicinal properties and is easy to absorb; it has the effects of strengthening the body and nourishing the body," he explained.
But this explanation was only marginally better than no explanation at all. After all, which immortal herb didn't have the effect of strengthening the foundation and nurturing the essence? Not to mention, what about the finer details?
Ning Fengzhi smiled awkwardly and politely, deciding to halt his inquiry about the source of the treasure in Oscar's hands. His gaze shifted, his thoughts swirling in uncertainty.
Since Oscar wasn't forthcoming with more information, Ning Fengzhi chose not to press further. It was, after all, the polite thing to do.
However, in this very moment, as he observed the precious item Oscar held, a daring idea sparked in Ning Fengzhi's mind: Could there be a heaven-and-earth treasure that could break through the limitations of their martial souls?
It was a well-known fact that neither he, Ning Rongrong, nor the previous leaders of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect were able to progress beyond the seventy-ninth level due to the constraints of their martial souls.
The power of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Tower was undeniable, yet in this world, no martial soul was truly flawless; they were all relatively perfect at best. But what if...
What if there existed a treasure of heaven and earth that could help them transcend these restrictions?
Suppressing his audacious thoughts, Ning Fengzhi focused his attention on Yu Xiaogang and Tang San, who were acting somewhat unusually.
His senses extended in six directions, his perception attuned to every movement and sound. The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile School's distraction technique wasn't just an empty boast.
Thanks to his well-honed skills, it was effortless for Ning Fengzhi to keep tabs on Yu Xiaogang and Tang San, even without their knowledge. They were engaged in a hushed conversation, unaware of his scrutiny.
Tang San's countenance was clouded, his emotions stirred. Despite lowering his voice and seeking a secluded spot to speak with Yu Xiaogang, the latter's persistence exceeded Tang San's expectations.
He had assumed that Yu Xiaogang would eventually relent, as had happened in the past. Yet, against all odds, Yu Xiaogang not only stood his ground, but also persuaded Tang San to temporarily let go of his resentment. The aim was to cooperate with the team and acquire the soul ring more smoothly.
There was even a chance of gaining Prince's appreciation. But Tang San's inner response to this idea was blunt: What nonsense!.
He wasn't willing to leave it up to chance, to let someone else dictate his fate. Why should he follow Lu Yuan's lead? Why would he accept a position in Prince's entourage when he wants to be the one to defeat Lu Yuan?
Even if an offer came, he wouldn't take it. He was Tang San, a disciple of the Tang Sect, not a substitute for anyone else.
Pressing his lips together, Tang San chose not to debate this matter further with Yu Xiaogang. He consoled himself with the phrase, "Teacher for a day, father for a lifetime," reminding himself of the trust he had placed in his master's intentions.
After all, a master wouldn't deceive his apprentice. Even if the outcome wasn't favorable, the intention was. Sometimes, intention outweighed the result. And so, Tang San endeavored to understand Yu Xiaogang's well-meaning motives.
In a split second, he managed to convince himself that his master's heart was in the right place. This newfound stability, however, concealed a tinge of resentment that had taken root in his heart.
In Tang San's view, Yu Xiaogang's intentions were noble, but the path he was leading Tang San down was against his own wishes. It seemed that Yu Xiaogang's actions were indicative of a lack of respect.
As Tang San departed, Yu Xiaogang let out a sigh, evoking a sense of guilt in Liu Erlong, who followed. Liu Erlong surmised that Yu Xiaogang might be displeased with her missteps, but due to social considerations, he refrained from openly reprimanding her.
However, Yu Xiaogang's sigh wasn't tied to Liu Erlong's errors. Rather, he felt remorse on Tang San's behalf.
It was undeniable that some individuals still held onto old beliefs. At the very least, Yu Xiaogang held his disciple Tang San in high regard. Discerning much from a singular instance, Tang San's ability to bear humiliation and show reverence to his teacher was commendable.
Despite the initial confusion, Yu Xiaogang ultimately grasped Tang San's resolute determination. And yet, neither Tang San nor Yu Xiaogang acknowledged this aspect of their dynamic.
The world moved forward ceaselessly, regardless of their individual convictions. Holding onto old ideas could only result in being trampled under the wheels of progress and ultimately buried in obscurity.
As Yu Xiaogang lost himself in thought, Liu Erlong hesitated and finally spoke in a hushed tone:
"Xiao Gang, I didn't mean to…"
Yu Xiaogang glanced at the woman by his side, a mixture of emotions passing through his eyes. He nodded and then politely changed the subject.
Is he excited? Undoubtedly, there is excitement. But it's not like he hasn't been tempted before.
Compared to women, men possess an advantage in maintaining rationality.
Hence, they often carry out actions that may seem harsh to both parties.
Extreme rationality, however, is not always wise. Neither is extreme sensibility.
After the destruction of their sensibilities, most individuals tend to shift towards extreme rationality.
Take, for instance, the current Pope of Wuhundian—Bibi Dong.
Or consider the currently unpredictable master—Yu Xiaogang.
This night was one without sleep.
It was true for Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong, and Flender; and it was equally true for Tang San, sitting atop a tree with tears streaming down his face.
Looking down at the small tent below, a sense of murderous intent flashed in Tang San's eyes.
But...
A breeze rustled the leaves, guiding them toward the small tent beneath the tree.
And then, just above the tent, the leaves came to an abrupt halt as if colliding with an invisible barrier.
Tang San sighed mournfully as he took a sip of water, his eyes red.
He knew this situation well. He had encountered it when he was six years old. Even after enrolling at Shrek, he had learned a bitter lesson because of this phenomenon.
"Space!"
Tang San couldn't help but release a lengthy sigh.
Why was the other person's martial soul Space , while his own martial soul remained confined to a tiny blue silver grass?
Moreover, why hadn't the Spirit Hall member with the spirit eyes recognized this remarkable spirit?
If not recognized…
Then why couldn't this martial soul, deemed a waste, belong to him as well?
My goodness!
Tang San couldn't help but inwardly curse, a visible tinge of jealousy crossing his eyes.
Yet, soon, this jealousy transformed into a sense of satisfaction.
So what if the talent was extraordinary? So what if the martial spirit was remarkable?
Lu Yuan's potential had reached its limits, and their future could only be outshone by him.
Everything they had would inevitably vanish!l.
Gazing at the moonlight, Tang San's mood began to stabilize.
Of course, heartache remained inevitable.
Xiao Wu and that despicable Lu Yuan shared a tent. Who knew if that vile Lu Yuan might act inappropriately towards Xiao Wu?
Taking a deep breath, Tang San made up his mind.
If that wretched Lu Yuan dared to lay a hand on Xiao Wu, he would do everything in his power to protect her!
Even if it meant facing death, he would face it before Xiao Wu did.
Inside the tent, Lu Yuan shifted, oblivious to Tang San's renewed oath.
Xiao Wu grumbled in discontent.
She had been sleeping soundly, only to be awakened once again by this bad guy.
Embracing the little rabbit, Xiao Wu quickly settled down and drifted back into sleep. Lu Yuan, too, returned to a deep slumber.
Those without abilities can only bark. He wasn't in the mood to prepare dog meat stew.
However, if it disturbed others, he wouldn't mind wasting some time to cook a meal for himself.
