Training the body!

After enjoying a hearty meal of mushroom soup, Zhang Yuan and Ming Yuelin stepped out of the house.

Ming Yuelin had a big smile on her face as her master enjoyed the soup she made and he even asked for a refill. Her heart swelled with pride at his satisfaction, knowing that her efforts had not gone unnoticed. 

Zhang Yuan stepped into the grassland, took a few steps and simply waved his hand. *woosh* A small wooden platform adorned with gold appeared on the grassland.

Eh? Ming Yuelin was dumbfounded to see him pulling things out of nowhere. How is he even doing that?

Zhang Yuan gestured with his hand and Ming Yuelin understood as she gracefully settled herself on the platform, crossing her legs in a comfortable position. 

"First we need to strengthen your foundation and body." As Zhang Yuan spoke, three pill bottles appeared in front of Ming Yuelin surprising her.

"Profound core strengthening pill, Bone refining pill and muscle tempering pill."

Ming Yuelin nodded her head in determination "Yes, Master."

Looking at the three floating pill bottles, she gingerly reached for the first one and twisted off the cap.

*gasp* She was startled by the strong medicinal aroma and she hastily snapping the lid back on.

She raised her gaze looking at Zhang Yuan "Master... what grade is this? High? No... is it Superior?"

Zhang Yuan gave a nod "Yeah, superior grade. I need to give the best for my disciple." he spoke with a soft smile.

Wha- Ming Yuelin was stunned, because only Tier 9 Alchemists can refine a Superior grade pill and in her past life, even in her Dynasty there was only one Tier 9 Alchemist.

She cupped her hands and spoke in a respectable tone "Disciple is grateful."

Zhang Yuan gave a faint nod and went behind her back. Ming Yuelin was quite confused and turned back "Master?"

Zhang Yuan sat behind her as another small wooden platform adorned with gold appeared on the ground. "Superior pills actually have concentrated profound energy. Since your foundation is weak, your control over that energy would be weak."

"So, I will help you flow the energy easily."

Ming Yuelin nodded her head and as she was about to toss the pill in her mouth, Zhang Yuan interrupted "Yuelin, take the three pills at the same time."

Huh? Ming Yuelin was startled hearing this "But... Master, all of them are superior grades, right? And taking three of them at the same time is..." she muttered glimpsing at the other two pill bottles floating in front of her.

Zhang Yuan smiled gently. "Listen to me and take the three at once. Surely it will take a toll on your body, but the rewards are fruitful as it enhances the body even more."

Hearing her master's words, Ming Yuelin didn't hesitate anymore and opened the other two pill bottles too.

Taking the three colorful pills in her hand, she took a deep breath before tossing them inside her mouth and gulping the three in one go.

As the pills disintegrated, Ming Yuelin felt the sudden rush of energy flowing through her body causing her to gasp in surprise.

"Yuelin, concentrate."

Ming Yuelin hurriedly nodded and closed her eyes as Zhang Yuan delicately grabbed her waist from behind, flowing his own energy into her body.

Ming Yuelin's eyes trembled and she gritted her teeth in pain, trying to control the rampant energy in her body.

The intense pain wracked her every nerve, making it difficult to control the overwhelming energy.

However, at this time, she felt another soothing energy flowing inside her body easing her heart and at the same time, she felt her Master's arms on her waist.

A soft, relieved smile graced her lips and she concentrated on absorbing the energy. But still, it's not easy for her.

'Urghhh, Master is trying so hard for me and even gave me superior grade pills. Why can't I still control it.. I hate that I am not talented.'

"Don't be hasty, Yuelin. Be calm..."

Hearing his soft voice, Ming Yuelin took a deep breath and focused on channeling the energy into her core, allowing it to seep into every part of her being, strengthening her from the inside out. 

The sensation was both invigorating and calming, as she felt her body, blood, bones, and veins being fortified with each passing moment. 

"Good girl, you are a fast learner."

Upon hearing his praise, Ming Yuelin's heart softened, a gentle smile gracing her lips. 

Feeling quite confident, she continued to flow the energy into her body and she could feel her master's energy guiding her to control it effortlessly.

A few minutes passed, and Ming Yuelin's body was twitching with beads of sweat cascading down her flushed face and and body, emanating intense heat.

She could feel her bones, meridians, and muscles have gotten so stronger and most of all, her spiritual core's size has increased a lot more.

"Haah!" She took deep breaths and felt the exhaustion wash over her 'As Master said, it really takes a toll on the body... but my body has gotten stronger, it's incredible..'

After several moments had passed, she finally opened her eyes and a red glint passed through her blue eyes.

Her face is drenched in sweat and her eyes shake in exhaustion as she feels her eyelids becoming heavy.

*thud* Losing her balance, she fell back; however, as Zhang Yuan was behind her, she directly fell on his chest.

Feeling the warmth on her back, Ming Yueli's eyes fluttered open and she gazed at the handsome face of Zhang Yuan who was looking at her with a tender smile.

"Ma.. ster."

Zhang Yuan delicately wrapped his arm around her waist "You did well, now rest for a while."

As Ming Yuelin felt the warmth of his embrace enveloping her, her heart melted and she closed her eyes, relishing the tenderness in his arms, a faint satisfied smile tugging at her lips.

Zhang Yuan's hand reached out towards her, his fingers tracing a delicate path along her cheek. He could feel the beads of sweat forming on her skin, only to vanish into thin air in the blink of an eye. 

*swoosh* At this time, the world consciousness woman appeared beside him and kneeled on the floor. "My Lord!"

Looking at the sleeping face of his dear disciple, Zhang Yuan asked "You have been missing since morning. You don't want to meet me?"

The woman's heart trembled and she hurriedly shook her head "No, No, My Lord... If anything I wish to be in your presence all the time."

"Then the reason you are not showing yourself?"

The woman lowered her gaze and spoke "I am under the rule of the Heavens. I should not show myself in front of mortals."

Zhang Yuan smiled faintly upon hearing this "Oh, yeah... there is a rule like that."

"Heavens." a soft mutter left his lips.

*THHHOOOOMM* Suddenly a thundering echo that seemed to shake the very foundations of the earth, a resounding echo reverberated throughout the entire world.

The once clear sky was swiftly engulfed by ominous, luminous clouds that cast a dark and foreboding shadow over everything below. 

However, in the next instant, the time stopped and a golden light fell on the world.
