Chapter 116: Keeping a Secret
John touched Sophia's face and kissed her forehead. It brought Sophia to realize she had just let him touch her intimately. Then, she broke free, rushed to tidy her shorts, and grabbed the cloth-binding chest on the ground. Finally, Sophia turned her body and wore the wrap cloth.
She took a deep breath before saying, "It was a mistake. It won't happen again."
John held Sophia's hand. "What are you talking about? It's not a mistake. Do you know how much time I have been searching for you?"
"What?! We don't know each other. You thought of me as the wrong person."
John inserted his hand into his pocket and took the necklace. "This is the proof! It was my late mother's belonging until she gave it to me before she died." Then, his eyes were softer. "When I met you twelve years ago, I gave this necklace to you."
