[I advise you to approach me alone, Infinity. I have nothing to converse with the Vessel of Shadow Monarch.]
Haru's eyes slightly widened when he heard those words...inside his head, loud and clear.
The voice belonged to a male, for sure, and the fact that only Haru reacted to it, made it obvious that the said 'Infinity' was him and the man, with the golden radiance, was seeking to have a conversation with him alone.
"Sunbae...wait." Jin-Woo raised his brows, as suddenly Haru halted midway toward the table where the suspicious blond man was seated.
"Can you let me talk to him? Alone?" Jin-Woo furrowed slightly at that, not sure why Haru would propose such an idea all of a sudden. However, he didn't pester for an answer.
The boy, despite being young and childish at times, was still a strong and mature individual.
Jin-Woo decides to trust Haru and assented to his request, "Give me a signal if things go south."
Haru nodded before the older one walked toward the nearby table, which would allow Jin-Woo to have his eyes on the table that Haru was approaching.
The blond man seemed foreigner with a straight posture and non-existent noise around him. Even when he placed the cup on the saucer, not a single sound was sent out.
Haru didn't hesitate taking the chair across the man, screeching it deliberately against the ground, before the glasses-wearing teenager took the seat opposite the man.
The blond middle-aged man looked unbothered by the rude gesture as he gave a smile of courtesy and asked Haru in the same voice, which he heard in his mind,
"Might the esteemed one wish to articulate an order before embarking upon our brief yet potentially noteworthy conversation?"
Haru felt a little creeped out, at how formal and wordy this man was. Nevertheless, he didn't let the waitress standing near their table wait for long and ordered an iced tea.
The man also ordered his black coffee with a smile, which made the girl nearly trip (even though she was standing) before she rushed away in a panic.
"So, what's this with Infinity and all? I have got a name, y'know?" Haru asked casually as he leaned on his seat and barely held the urge to put his legs on the table.
He really wanted to...but he held back, given how Jin-Woo might report it to a certain someone.
"Oh, please forgive my rudeness for calling you in such a manner even though, the Special One has a name. Nevertheless, the undeniable truth persists that the entity currently before me is, unequivocally, an Infinity."
Haru was no longer following so he waited for the man to continue, which he did, only after finishing his beverage.
"Having the privilege to be an anonymous existence, free from any prior information, I suppose that's what makes you an Anomaly?"
Haru's body froze upon hearing that title attached to him, since the last time he heard it, the individual was an adversary.
Haru had no idea why the Monarchs considered him such, but the way, this Ruler was also signifying his knowledge about what been happening these days, seemed extremely alarming.
"I am hoping that the heavens haven't fallen to collaborate with the evil?" Despite his tone remained plain and neutral, Haru was a little apprehensive at the moment.
If the Rulers and Monarchs become allies, his route to sustain this reality and forbid the use of the Reincarnation Cup, might be jeopardized. Even though Haru has the strength and resources to plummet all the Rulers and remaining Monarchs all by himself, the factor of Reincarnation still haunted him.
"I fear I won't be able to give a concrete answer to that." Haru's heartbeat rose hearing that but he kept his demeanor in check and followed up with his query,
"Your appearance, either means that Rulers want my assistance or you are here to just inform me about the upcoming war. "
Saying so Haru smiled toward the waitress who arrived by the table and put down the drink silently.
Seeing the girl rushing away, the Ruler provided an answer,
"Maybe it could be both?"
Haru narrowed his eyes from behind his glasses, as his tone turned a little condensing, "Can we just put away the riddles and talk in a straight line? I have a lot on my plate already, you know."
The blond man chuckled upon hearing that, nevertheless, he took a sip of his beverage first before deciding to break the ice on the matter.
"The esteemed Higher Council of Rulers entertains suspicions regarding certain entities who seem inclined to aid the Monarchs by divulging information that, in all propriety, should have remained beyond their awareness. The recent abduction of your loved one, for example?"
Haru's fist clenched under the table hearing that, the Rulers were the ones behind the strategy to kidnap Jinah and try cornering him. The sudden burst of energy might have alerted the people around if only any one of them would have been awakened.
Well, of course, Jin-Woo felt the sudden spike in Haru's energy, but as soon as it elevated, the fluctuation disappeared soon after as well.
'Should I...no. Let him handle this.' Jin-Woo decided to elongate his shadow and cover all the customers and staff members inside the cafe, just in case a fight broke out.
On the other hand, the Ruler turned a little cautious feeling the burst of energy, since the blond man was well aware of the ridiculous skills Haru possesses.
'Observation doesn't justify the actual experience...' The Ruler took the chance to wipe the sweat off his forehead while Haru was looking down at the table.
After regaining the command over his emotions, Haru finally asked, "Why is that, the Rulers suddenly began to see me as an enemy, even though, I have done nothing but good for the society?"
Haru was frustrated by this sudden involvement of Heavens in the plan when they should have just stuck their thumbs up their assess and let him handle everything.
While Haru had his insecurities toward the Cup of Reincarnation, it doesn't mean he would let the preparators behind Jinah's abduction, wander around without any consequences.
However, he wanted to know, what action from his side changed the perception of the Rulers. Was it because he possessed tremendous magical energy? Was it because he has skills that were entirely unheard of? Was it because he simply didn't belong to any prior timeline?
A lot of possibilities, yet the actual reason never crossed his mind,
"The Entity, that has sent you to this world has shaken up the Heavens and instilled fear in all the Rulers at once. The Divinity responsible for your existence...is the reason for almost every Ruler's paranoia."
