I nodded my head and bowed it to hide the glint in my eyes. I could imagine how I was going to punish him later. He and his whole family would remember how he was tormented for his deeds!

Before he could say anything further, the sound of footsteps started coming from the other side. The knight had come back from inside with a delighted face. I was sure they had already checked the value of the pin, and his delight was due to the ruby that was in it.

"Come with me. I will take you to my lord!" He tried to sound strict and harsh by hiding the delight in his voice, yet his eyes were saying it all. A big smile formed on the face of the other guard too.
