The auction before the charity dinner began, and the items up for bid were all antiques.
Sang Shixi and I sat in the front row, where we had a clear view of what those antiques looked like.
One of the crowns was especially beautiful, placed inside a transparent crystal box and shining brilliantly under the lights.
Seeing that I was staring at it intently without blinking, Sang Shixi leaned close to me, "This was the favorite crown of a Princess Consort of The Russian Emperor. The crown had once been stolen by her maid and wasn't known to the world until the late 16th century. Since then, it has been sealed in a museum."
"How could something from a museum be auctioned off?"
"That museum is privately owned; they occasionally put items up for auction for charity."
"I see, are the colored diamonds real?"
"Of course, they're real. Each one is invaluable."
"The colors are really pretty," I murmured softly.
He looked into my eyes, "Do you like it?"
