Eve:

I caught a glimpse of the wet floor behind the counter. And stared at her, desperately and controlling my anger from slipping and sending both of us out of the friend zone.

"You do need that extra hour," I exclaimed. "I am not going to clean that mess."

I didn't mind cleaning. Instead, I would be glad to help out. But, I was leaving in less than two hours, another job awaits. Since I didn't get enough sleep last night. I barely have the strength to keep up with the less dramatic day.

"Don't miss out the customer," I told her. Sophia was still day-dreaming when I went to the storeroom. I needed to get some supplies and filled the empty refrigerator near the customer tables before busy hours picked up. Therefore, I escaped the argument between us and headed towards the back.

I got that she literally admired him. I bet a lot of people in this world does. One thing I didn't get was why she still needs to spend her time lost in thoughts? And wishing for a guy, who would seem impossible even to get him in her dream? I mean come on, was he that handsome to mesmerize? I hope my best co-worker soon realized that living, in reality, would be harder than a stupid dream. I hope she didn't make any mistakes, going after that man, making her only ambitions.

Once I was done with my shift. I grabbed a cup of coffee, my purse, and car key, and hugged her tight goodbye. Then, I went to the parking lot with a heavy sigh of relieved.

My old junkie car was parked between two expensive cars, BMW and Mercedes. I unlocked the car door and slid on the driver seat, dumping everything on the front passenger seat. I checked the upcoming cars in the rearview mirror. Since there wasn't any traffic blocking my way. I went on driving mode. Right then, my gaze met the golden card on the windshield. I parked the car and went outside and snatched it, hoping it wasn't a parking ticket.

I seriously couldn't afford to have another bill.

Meet me tonight at the runway club. I have the serious matter to discuss with you. 9:00 sharp. That was the only message written on the back of the owner name and his personal information.

It hadn't had my name written on it. Basically, that was another reason to take that message as the false alarm. Besides, even if he had meant it for me. I didn't see any reason I would want to meet him in a club. Did I even know him to agree with whatever and went out to see him? I didn't know whatever was his reasons behind all these dramas. I better not let anyone shows their gesture and sympathy with money or any other things. He was stranger, total strangers despite his professionalism in high society that Sophia and news channel keep on mentioning. I have zero business to deal with him unless he was the guy from my nightmares. Unless he was the person I was escaping from. Unless he wanted to hurt me until I remained skin and bones.
