Chapter 12: "The knock"

Since my run yesterday, I feel a bit calmer and at peace, but I still feel on edge with everything else that's happening and the reason that we're here in Lillie's Lane instead of home.

I just wish there was a way of stopping this demented "Christian" from his sickening thoughts of continuation with his stupid experiment. There has got to be a way. I mean every problem has a solution, right?

I was about to get on with my ranting in my mind when Colt ran into my room.

" Hey little man, what's up? " I asked him while smiling down at him.

" Uhm Iba, there's a knock on the door and Mum told me not to open the door if I'm alone downstairs " he told me in his cute little voice.

My heartbeat went hysterical, but I managed to calm it down before heading down the stairs with him. We were home alone because Mum and Zack had to get a few groceries item as we were running out.
