However, there is one big thing that happened that made Kogure unleash the bloodlust that he has been keeping for all these years. Things happened and now, he is standing in front of the demon king's castle. "They think I would want to save this world just because they asked me to? Ha, dream on. Time to begin the conquest and kill everyone who blocks our way. Mercy is only for the weak!"

Roulette

Three of the soldiers are now dead. Messily was killed by none other than Kogure, the summoned hero from another world. Kinda ironic for a hero summoned from another world only for him to start killing. If he didn't get injured to the point of almost dying, he would have killed everyone in the kingdom the day he unleashed his inner beast.

At the moment, Kogure is washing his hands and weapons on the brook. He didn't bother to wash away the blood on his body just yet. Knowing that he will kill again later, it would be better to keep it on, let the blood soak for more of his kills, then wash it after.

"[Sir Hero, you have leveled up after killing the three soldiers]."

"I leveled up just now? Didn't I have killed many soldiers back in the castle?"

"[The amount of experience you have received is pretty low since most of the people you have killed back in the castle are weak people who are all level 1 in terms of combat and physical strength. The three you have killed today are level 2 people which is why you have leveled up after doing so]"

"Huh. So, if I leveled up, then does that mean I can see my stats now?"

"[Sir Hero, I can't show you your stats. This is not a game, this is reality. I may be your system but I only do things that should encourage the growth of the Hero. Showing your status to you in a game-like manner will lose the purpose of working hard. I would rather prefer you don't see it and continue the grind. Also, the only benefit you get for leveling up is you get to learn a skill.]

"A skill? Oh, so like those generic stories where the hero gets the overpowered skills again?"

"[Unfortunately, Sir Hero. Things like that don't work for me as the system. You will indeed get a skill, but you can only choose to improve an existing skill to a certain level or obtain a new but random skill, both passive and active skills. In your current case, you can only obtain a random skill.]"

"Your way of a system sucks. If this is a game, this really sucks."

"[I told you already, Sir Hero. I don't want to make it easy for you. You might be the hero, but that doesn't mean you should just rely on your skills and ignore hard work.]"

"Can I earn skills that are not part of the system? Like skills being taught by someone or earned on something?"

"[The system answers: Yes. Although you will obtain random skills in the system, you can earn skills learned from outside sources. Also, your skills will not be overpowered when received. If you want to make a skill overpowered, train and study it, or if you have no time to do it, improve it by leveling up using the perk of improving an existing skill though that will stop you from earning new skills as a result.]"

"A challenge eh? That's more like it. I am tired of all the cliches of the isekai genre already. If getting strong is obtained at the start, everything will be boring. If I have to work hard to become strong, then that will be rewarding. Alright, give me the f*cking skill."

"[Understood. To make sure that everything is fair and square, we will be putting all the skills you can learn at the moment into a roulette. You spin the wheel, and whatever skill landed, will be the skill you get and it will be removed from the roulette. The more you level up, the more skills will get added to this wheel.

"Damn, what a hassle. But I have no opening argument about it, which is annoying. Oh well, let's get right into it. I might get something good to use against these f*ckers and kill them faster. Spin the wheel."

"[Command Accepted, Spin the Wheel. Please say stop for the wheel to stop its rotation.]"

"Can I just let it spin forever?"

"[It will spin for only a minute until an order to stop is issued. It will not spin forever.]"

Kogure nodded and watched the roulette begin its rotation. It didn't start right away but backtracked a bit before it spins. Kogure didn't care what he will get and whatever the results ends up. As the roulette continues to roll, the system also waited for Kogure to give the prompt. However, Kogure remained without saying anything and just stared at the roulette until a minute passed by.

Just like what the system said, the roulette slows down and came to a halt after a minute since Kogure did not say anything to make the spin stop. It stopped at the silver option of the roulette and the option is removed from the roulette. It shines brightly before Kogure's eyes before the results came in.

"[Results of the roulette spin. Congratulations Sir Hero, you landed the silver rarity skill: (Shadow Strike). Improving this skill will allow this to evolve into a new and improved version of this skill.]"

"So that is the reason why there is a skill leveling. That is for the purpose of increasing its usability and for it to evolve into a new skill that improves its base version. Not bad. Let me see what this skill does, system."

The system immediately showed the details of the skill to Kogure, allowing him to read the description and how to use it.

(Shadow Strike)

Type: Active skill: Offensive

How to Activate: The user will have to blend into the shadows and use it to perform a fatal strike against the target. Cannot move in different areas while blending into the shadows unless it is time to strike. Can be activated as long as there is a shadow cast anywhere.

Kogure grinned after seeing what the skill can do. This is like doing an ambush but instead of using a prop in the surroundings to hide your presence, you can just blend into the shadows and create a big surprise for the enemy.

"I like this. It might be silver but that is not bad at all. Very useful for my current situation in fact. But wait, since this was a skill, does this have a cooldown or does it consume some sort of energy like mana?"

"[The system answers: There is no cooldown and you can use it as many times as you like. However, it does indeed consume something and that is your endurance. The more you use it, the more endurance you consume. You can replenish endurance while resting. If you run out of endurance, you will become really tired and your perception and attack speed will slow down, slowing you down while fighting and might even put you in danger. You have moderate endurance at the moment so the estimation of how many times you can use (Shadow Strike) is 3 times."

"As expected. That is too good to be true if we can keep on doing it for almost forever as long as my endurance lasts."

"[What is your plan now, Sir Hero? You already earned the skill, what are you going to do next?]"

"What else? It's time to hunt and begin the grind. If they are all hostile to me, then that only means I can use them to grind points to receive a single pull currency for the gacha. I needed their lives to fuel my gacha!"
