Brutality of a Slaughterer

The assassins are not expecting Kogure's appearance. His sudden emergence made them panic as they have not prepared themselves for being flanked and killed by someone. Not only that but their leader was killed before it can even react making their group in disarray.

"Escape! Don't bother with the targets! Prioritize your life!"

Kogure grinned after he heard it. Compared to most cliche things he has seen and read in novels, movies, and anime he consumes, this is the most logical way people who are at a big disadvantage take action. However, it would be a disgrace for him if he would leave them alive and leave to tell the tale.

He isn't that merciful, to begin with. Killing is the way to go for him.

"Trying to escape?"

Kogure throws his spear and one of the fleeing assassins got hit by its tip, effectively piercing the back of his head and pulling off his left eye, defeating the assassin instantly. The other assassins no longer cared what is happening behind their backs, they escaped without bothering about who got hit and who escaped. As long as they can save their skins, they won't hesitate to abandon them.

Before all of the assassins can fully escape, Kogure throws the rope he used to choke most of his earlier victims by making it like a cowboy lasso to catch one of the fleeing assassins alive while the other fleeing one who managed to get away far, Kogure throws one of his daggers which landed to the back of the fleeing assassin, and killing him instantly. It made the final assassin wail in despair seeing all of his comrades die from someone who is still a teenager and easily dealt with them. They have indeed made the right choice to flee, the only problem is that the one who instigated all, refuses to let them go.

The last assassin tried his best to get away from the lasso that is tightly binding both his arms but Kogure just pulled harder to tighten up the rope even further.

"We will let you stay alive for a while but only for a while."

He proceeds to drag the poor assassin by pulling the rope the assassin is bound in as they returned to the wounded blonde guy. As Kogure and the dragged assassin is back to where they are before, the blonde guy is already patching up most of his wounds by using magic. Obviously, it was Healing Magic. He is still roughed up a little, but he is already recovering and he has already managed to stand back up.

There is also one maid lying on the ground, wounded but alive, and a guy who looks like the coachman of the carriage who is currently groaning in pain while holding his bloody arm. The blonde guy immediately assumed his offensive stance and aimed the sword in front of him to defend himself and the two behind him from any danger but the moment he saw Kogure dragging the assassin, he sighed in relief and sheathed the sword back to its sheath.

"Thank you for saving us from our untimely doom, stranger."

"It's nothing. Something like this is a trivial matter to me."

"Brother, if you are not in a hurry, how about you accompany me until we reach the next town? I will even pay you money if you act as my bodyguard for the time being!"

"Are you perhaps offering me a job?" Kogure turned to look at the blonde guy's expression.

"Yeah. It wouldn't be right to ask you a favor if I don't pay you. My people here are injured and I needed someone who is able to fight to accompany us."

["Sir Hero, are you going to accept this offer of his? It would be best if we move on our way."] the system is against the notion.

"Yes. Money and food will be our needed necessities for the moment. Until we reach the next town, we will earn money by just doing this. Not only will we be able to properly arrive at a town without getting lost, but we also earn something for the trouble."

The system did not respond which means it accepted my reasoning. I turned to look at the blonde guy and sheathed my weapons.

"Fine. Pay me and we got a deal."

And so, the Kogure helped the blonde young man carry the wounded maid and the coachman inside the carriage. The blonde guy took over the role of the coachman and continue to walk through the road. As for Kogure, he walked beside the carriage so that once another enemy came out, he can immediately respond without a fail.

"[Sir Hero, are you sure about this? Are you going to trust that man? He might look like a decent man but that doesn't mean he is not aware you are a wanted man.]"

"Who said about trusting him? He is currently my client and he is going to pay me. If he decided to play something that shouldn't be done at all, I am not going to hesitate to kill him. I only trust myself in this current world."

"Can you tell me your name?" someone started talking to him and Kogure looked to where the voice came from and it was from the blonde guy.

Kogure was surprised as this guy started to strike up a conversation with him and for him to ask his name, Kogure can't help but be a bit wary.

"Don't ask. I am not going to tell you and I don't have any reason to even tell a single letter of my name to you."

The blonde guy seemed to be surprised by his unfriendly answer but he continued to communicate with him anyway.

"I'm sorry if that came rude but I am just asking for your name because I can't keep on calling you with "you" and other honorifics."

"I don't mind if you call me anything. Whatever you are trying to do, I am not going to tell my name to you. So if you are really insistent, then piss off."

Kogure made a very rude way to tell him to f*ck off and stop prying his life. This might have made the blonde guy a bit troubled about what to say to him again. Due to how hostile Kogure appears to be, he decided to stop asking him and just continue to drive the carriage and focused on the road.

"[Sir Hero, I can detect multiple figures ahead. Based on how they dressed and how they are currently holding weapons, it seems they are part of those people who ambushed this blonde guy earlier.]"

"More people huh? Alright, time to get to work."

For Kogure, killing people in another world is just another thing he needed to do to survive. He is not killing in the real world anyways where he will feel guilty. Because he is someone who does not like isekai a lot, he does not hesitate to kill no matter who it was in another world.

And now, he accepted the fact that this will now be a regular thing for him.

Kogure started running in the direction where the people blocking the road were detected by the system. The blonde guy was surprised at why he started to run but when he spotted a few figures not too far from the carriage, he immediately knew why Kogure started to run in that direction.

The assassins disguised as bandits saw someone running before them. The one acting as a leader immediately raised his hands to stop that guy from going further.

"Stop where you are if you want to live!"

However, instead of stopping, the running guy continues to accelerate which caused the assassins to frown. Then they spotted a carriage from behind him not too far from them. The leader immediately deduced who this man immediately."

"Stop or we will shoot!"

Kogure was surprised when he saw some guns from the people before him. Although they looked like they are flintlocks, they are still f*cking guns which mean to Kogure, wielding a gun in this world is not impossible.

"That's good to know."

Hearing the guys before him order him to stop approaching or they will shoot means they are indeed someone harmful and seeing that they are not soldiers either, they are immediately bandits for him.

"Stop!"

One of the bandits raised his hands and gestured for him to stop. However, Kogure never had plans to do that.

He pulled out one of the flying knives that he looted from the bandits that he killed and decided to give it a whirl. He has seen this being used on television and although he is not someone who knows how to use this, there was no harm in using it so he pulled one out, and throws it to the guy who is gesturing for him to stop.

The flying knife was known to be a very sharp weapon used by assassins to immediately silence their targets while they are not yet aware of them though this is usually used if they are just going for a stealth approach. They didn't anticipate it being used in close-quarters combat.

Because the distance between Kogure and the target is a few meters apart, the flying knife immediately got transferred to the target and that made the attack much stronger. He didn't expect the flying knife to come out so the moment it landed in his eyes, it was already clear that he is dead.

THUD!

The acting leader of the assassins that Kogure mistook as bandits have fallen and died. It was so sudden so they didn't expect any action just yet but then...

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

Three slashes and three heads were toppled off from the bodies of the assassins. The other assassins behind were too surprised but Kogure took advantage of this and pulled out the sword on his hip and sliced off the abdomen of the nearest guy and spill his guts before going to the other side and slicing on the other guy vertically, splitting him two.

All of those scenes were witnessed directly by the blonde guy. He wanted to puke seeing blood and guts being spilled from the one-sided battle but he held it in. Then, he immediately has an idea of what to call the guy he hired.

"Looks like I have to call him the "Slaughterer" as a nickname for him. I think it really suits him"
