Shohoku is really a weird team

In Shoyo's bench...

"Try your best! Shoyo! 3x" chanted by the Shoyo's cheering squad.

"We must stop Shohoku's run" Hanagata said.

"Yes!!" Shoyo players replied.

"Shoyo has calm their nerves! Fujima timely called a time-out and was impressive! Shohoku got Fujima worked by chasing the lead w/in three." Hikoichi said.

"He is usually just sits on the bench w/out giving much instruction coz Shoyo is already a good team. However, if Fujima was on the floor and Shoyo is a different team w/ him." Coach Taoka said.

Miyagi got another clean steal but he was immediately double teamed by Shoyo.

"Such tight defense on Miyagi!" Kogure said.

Shoyo turned to zone defense after Miyagi crossed the mid court and double teamed whoever got the ball.

"Shoyo's defense stopped Shohoku's fast break attack they for another player" Coach Taoka said.

Akagi got the ball, as soon as he did so Shoyo double teamed him and the shot clock was about to expire.

"Akagi!!" Mitsui shouted who was waiting in the left corner, Akagi thrown the ball to him and w/in a second he releases the ball. Flying its way through air, it was a high arching and went hollow through the net.

"Yes! That's Shoyo's miscalculation! Shohoku has a MVP level shooter, Hisashi Mitsui!" Coach Taoka said.

"Three points in your head!!" Mitsui really fired up by the Shoyo's no. six have said.

"Now Shoyo must expand their defense is just as I thought... Fujima is about to come to play." Coach Taoka said.

"Shohoku eleven vs. eleven Shoyo." Shohoku has finally caught up and tied the game.

"They make a deal out of it! It's only one shot!" Sakuragi said.

Hanagata scored after he tips in the miss of their point guard.

Sakuragi reminded again his job is to get the rebounds.

"Back on defense! We won't go easy anymore on them!! A Shoyo player said.

"You're underestimating us! Hanagata!" Mitsui dared to drive his way to the basket but Hanagata got on position outside the penalty area.

"What?" Mitsui felt it was part of Hanagata's plan.

"Looks like I don't have to come off the bench, Hanagata!!" Playing Coach Fujima said.

Thirty-four seconds left in the first half and Shoyo is leading by double digits. Shohoku twenty-two vs. thirty-one Shoyo.

"The gap is getting bigger..." Mito said.

"Do your best Shohoku!!" Haruko said.

"This is the strength of the second best in Kanagawa!" Hikoichi said,

"Hanagata has matured and more agile than last year. Plus Fujima, Shoyo is almost invisible." Coach Taoka said.

"This year Shoyo's a tough team to beat..." Nobunaga Kiyota of Kainan said.

"Thirty seconds left before the game ends, guys!" Ayako reminded the Shohoku players.

"This last play will be the key to the second half so watch carefully! Because Fujima hasn't come on the court and the fatigue, Shohoku is playing agitatedly and they're going to be tired easily." Coach Taoka said.

"Look how bad they are now, all hope is place on the second half and if the gap is going to be widen, then there's no hope anymore for another comeback" Hikoichi said.

"Defense!!! 3x" Shohoku's bench, Haruko and Sakuragi's gang is cheering ton keep the spirit of then players up.

Hanagata shot another fadeaway jumper, but Akagi give up on defense and had touched the ball.

"Get the rebound!!" Hanagata and Akagi shouted at the same time.

Rukawa is outnumbered against three Shoyo players and was box out under the hoop. Out of nowhere, Sakuragi secured the ball and the time has expired.

"I'm the king of rebound, Hanamichi Sakuragi!!" he said.

"Beeeepp!! the buzzer sounded.

End of first half!!" game announcer said.

"Sakuragi!" Haruko said.

Back to the dug-out, Haruko and the gang went to see and talk w/ the hero.

"You're so cool, Sakuragi!" Haruko said.

"I must be the rebound king?" Sakuragi said.

"Yes! You're the rebound king, Sakuragi!" she replied

"We can't to see your second half performance, Sakuragi". His gang said.

After the twenty minute break, the second half begun and its Shohoku's ball.

"I'm the king of rebound, Sakuragi." He said. Sakuragi grab the rebound after several missed.

"Give me the ball! Stupid!!" Akagi got the ball and performed a gorilla dunk.

"Waaahh...!"

"It's Akagi's gorilla dunk!"

"Awesome dunk by Shohoku!" Sakuragi's gang said.

Shohoku's bench is getting wild as they slowly making another comeback.

"It's here!"

"Down only by seven points!"

"Is he really a rookie?" Shohoku's bench said.

"Thief! Bastard!" Sakuragi said.

"Shut your mouth, Sakuragi" Akagi said.

"Don't worry, will score back, Hanagata!" another Shoyo player said.

"His movements have changed, in a way that I can't predict it anymore" Hanagata said.

"Shohoku took it aggressively in the second half, Akagi's gorilla dunk is really powerful and Sakuragi's rebound served its purpose" Hikoichi said.

"Yes it is! Looks like there's going to have a big comeback." Coach Taoka said.

"Defense!!!"

"All rebounds are mine!" Sakuragi said. He rebounded the missed goal, "Box out!! he said.

"Awesome, Sakuragi!"

"Nice rebound!"

Akagi got the ball that was almost stole by Shoyo after Sakuragi's rebound and scored a hook shot.

"In!"

"Down only by one point!"

"Awesome, Gori!"

"Shohoku!!!" the crowd is getting wild, as Sakuragi and Shohoku finally caught up. "Shohoku 34 vs. 35 Shoyo, with 14:21 left in the second half.
