Players from both teams entered the arena and the crowd is obviously in favor w/ the defending champion Kainan High.

"Hahaha! This year's Kainan is the strongest ever!! You want to know why?!" Nobunaga Kiyota said, the starting small forward of the Kainan team and likes to brag all the time.

"Another moron..." Rukawa said.

"Huh? What you said wild monkey?" Sakuragi rarely meet some closely resembles him or is it a lost brother from another mother.

"Coz this year, I'm the super rookie, Nobunaga Kiyota is on the Kainan team! Hahaha!!" he said while standing in the middle of the court.

"Hey! Sakuragi Hanamichi...!" Kiyota replied. Seeing the ball in Hanamichi's hands and he stole it away from Sakuragi easily.

"Huh?!" Sakuragi reaction was a little and saw his ball being dribbled by wild monkey.

"Hey! Sakuragi you're so weak!" Kiyota showed everyone his skills.

"Wild monkey... you're gonna pay for challenging a genius like me!" Sakuragi said.

"Whoa! So fast..." Yayoi Aida said.

"The game's about to begin! What the hell are doing!" her junior reporter Nakamura said.

"Sakuragi... there's something I have to make clear..." Kiyota showed off his dribbling skills.

"Ahhh!!" junior reporter Nakamura said.

"Kainan players are really on a different level w/ their opponent!" the fans of the Kainan said.

Rukawa kicked a ball towards Kiyota who's doing a dribbling showdown w/ Sakuragi.

"Rukawa...!" Kiyota and Sakuragi said.

"Looks interesting!" Sakuragi's gang said.

"What's going on?" Haruko's friend asked.

"Ahh... Doing this before a game..." Haruko said.

"Hey Sakuragi, there's still I want to say and make it clear, right now! Rukawa isn't the no. one rookie!" Kiyota said.

"Of course! He is not the one!" Sakuragi said.

"Eh?!" they replied.

Sakuragi also felt to show some of his stuff to this wild monkey of Kainan and declare himself as super rookie. He stole the ball from Kiyota; Sakuragi rotated the ball between his legs and around his waist like crazy.

"Ahh..." Kiyota said.

"Whoa! So fast!!" Aida and Nakamura said.

"Wow!!!"

"Shohoku is also has amazing rookie!"

"Shohoku doesn't back down either in this showdown!" the audience are getting excited in this game and the showdown between the two fired them up.

Hn hn hn hn hn hn!!!" Sakuragi said while showing off his basic skills.

"What are this two thinking..." Haruko's friend said.

"Whahahaha! Sakuragi finally meet his long lost brother!!" Sakuragi's friends said.

"That's right!! Hahaha!" Kiyota said.

"Of course, Rukawa isn't the best rookie!!" Sakuragi replied.

"hmmn... morons!" Rukawa said.

"I definitely won't lose to you!!" Kiyota and Sakuragi both said.

"Bang!!' the two wild and red monkey got hit by their respected captain's on the head.

"Aww... ugh...." the two kneelt down and protect their heads while rubbing it to lessen the pain.

"Are those two really high school students...?" reporter Nakamura said.

"Of course they are! I just discovered a common point between the Kainan and Shohoku have...!

Maki and Akagi...! Both teams have a stable and powerful player as core of the team.

But the roads they walk are very different... Maki has been called a monster since his first year and has always been a top in the country.

While, Akagi has very good skills and technique, w/ a personal ability that is ranked best amongst in his position! Except that he hasn't found talented teammates, so he couldn't reveal his true strength..." Aida said.

"Likewise! It's fine, it's not a big deal anyway, Maki!" Akagi said, while holding the left ear of Sakuragi.

"Idiot!" Akagi said.

"Wah!!" Sakuragi's left really red like a ripe tomatoe.

"Moron!" Miyagi turn his back on him.

"You're a shame to Shohoku!" Mitsui has really change since then, plus the spirit that fused w/in him that took pride in everything he do.

"What were you thinking, Kiyota?!" Maki dragged him like a doll back to their bench area.

"When did you start playing basketball, Sakuragi-kun?" Coach Riki Takato asked.

"Huh?! Why are you asking? Since high school started!! Don't you underestimate me, monkey-sensei!!" Sakuragi said.

"Idiot!! I apologize in behalf of the team, Takato-sensei!" Akagi got embarrassed of Sakuragi's attitude.

"Its fine, Akagi! That's not even three months have passed..." Coach Riki Takato said.

"This year.... is the last year of high school life for some... Akagi-kun has finally found a group of talented teammates and overcome a lot of obstacles, they finally made it here..." Aida said.

"Ok! The game is about start!!" Ayako said.

"Let's play hard, Everyone!" Kogure said.

"Ho ho ho..." Coach Anzai said.

"Yeahhh!!!" Shohoku starters replied.

"Let the game begin!!!" Kiyota and other Kainan players are also ready to play.
